## ISPConfig Reviews
  ### 1. Great software to build your own hosting platform.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ISPConfig?**

I like that the software has modest backend requirements. It is extensible with many add-ons for getting applications like WordPress or Gallery up in running quickly. The high availability features have been working as expected with no downtime.

**What do you dislike about ISPConfig?**

Documentation on various setups is user contributed and at times may be slightly confusing - hint, read the comments to help get you through. There is a manual for the software but it doesn't cover specific set ups, like on particular operating systems.

**Recommendations to others considering ISPConfig:**

I would advise anyone setting it up to take the time and create the multiserver high availability model.

**What problems is ISPConfig solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up a low cost hosting platform where you can control was my desire. ISPConfig excels at that and is very stable. We have have high recurring costs associated with the actual software like other platforms.

  ### 2. ISPconfig a versitale control panel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ISPConfig?**

ISPconfig is an easy to use, pretty straightforward webhosting control panel. Once installed it sees you as a reseller and you can add customers and websites including email hosting for those customers. It even has a hookup with letsencrypt so you can add free ssl certificates to the hosted sites.

Updating ISPConfig is a jiffy, it works with a shell command and runs smooth in 99.9% of the cases.

**What do you dislike about ISPConfig?**

There is however a downside. I have encountered an issue that the built in letsencrypt option doesnt always want to work out of the box. You can however, if you have some linux knowledge install certbot on the server and use that to request certificates and automate the cert renewal. Somtimes updating causes a hassle but as said, with some knowledge you can workaround the issues. On that point DirectAdmin gives less trouble.

**Recommendations to others considering ISPConfig:**

Give it a change. If you are considering multiple servers, you can apply for a support pack that allows easy migration of sites and mail from one to another server. This is ideal if you are to setup a new server which you have ofcourse thoroughly tested and you wnat to put sites live on it. This way you dont have to setup all the sites by hand on the new machine.

**What problems is ISPConfig solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefit with ISPconfig is that hosting sites goes easy. No need for extended knowledge of vi-ing an apache2 config file is needed, anyone with a tad bit of knowledge can go ahead. And keep a server operational.

  ### 3. The best control panel for your shared servers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ISPConfig?**

It's open code, so you can change and customize your panel if you need it by your own extensions or third party, and its use it's easier than other panels.
It's well documented, and developed
And the best maybe is its upgrade. It's nos automatic, so you can create all of backups, snapshots and whatever you need for an safe upgrade.

**What do you dislike about ISPConfig?**

I think there is nothing I dislike from this panel. I like all of it, seriously.

**Recommendations to others considering ISPConfig:**

- Not a paid panel
- Easy for use
- Fully control panel for an ISP
- Well documented
- A lot of plugins and extensions

**What problems is ISPConfig solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a few web servers for my clients, and it's my TOOL for them. I love it because with this panel I can create users, resellers, sites, databases, FTP accounts, email accounts and link with Squirrel mail, Monit and others with a few clicks. It's marvellous.
