With IPfolio I can keep track of my IP applications such as number of applications, prosecution status, office actions, costs, etc. After our implementation period we went through a long period of internal re-structuring. After a few years we started using IPfolio again, and the IT support team has helped us to update our databases and has also helped us customize it for our current needs. I have received training from the IT support expert Kevin Nugget and have mastered the use of the tool. I now can create my own templates, my own new fields, customize the pages for our needs/use, and I can keep track of budget and do cost forecasting for the following years all bymyself. What I like most about Ipfolio is that no matter how offen I need guidance, the IT support expert is always responsive and replies to all of my questions within minutes. I do not think I can find such kind of technical support anywhere else. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** Nothing really. Working in IPfolio as an administrator, I can't emphasize enough how well-designed and constructed this product really is. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** I've been using IPfolio day in, day out for close to 6 years now, and have yet to come across something I dislike. **What problems is IPfolio solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a quick example, anyone managing a patent portfolio knows that mistakes or typos in a patent record (e.g., app number or priority date) can lead to issues down the road. One great feature of IPfolio is the IPSync feature which syncs your US patent records with the USPTO database. Any found discrepancies are provided in an easy to manage audit log. Errors are a thing of the past when using IPSync in IPfolio. ### 4. IPfolio is collaborative, adaptable, clever, intuitive, smart, trustworthy and affordable. More importantly, the team at IPfolio who make it all happen are knowledgeable, supportive, friendly and enthusiastic about what they do and about the company. I have worked with Kevin on several exciting and challenging projects, and he always goes above and beyond. Kevin is incredibly personable, highly technical, very approachable and always responsive. He cares about his customers, and he gets any job done. Other key IPfolio team members who have made my experience with IPfolio so positive are Brandon and Tyler. Specific areas of high value, compared to other IPM systems we have used or tested: - Very modern user interface, that is beautiful and easy to work in - Email integration, fast and easy tracking of communications - Advanced reporting and beautiful dashboard capabilities - Ability to easily change user interface layouts, work flows, reports, dashboards and so on. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** - IP Sync, connection with patent offices needs to be improved, it basically only works in a useful way with USPTO. On the other hand, do not know of any other IPM system doing this better. - Document management integration (meaning how you can edit and work on documents like word directly from the system) is not fully integrated into system, you need to connect Sharepoint, Dropbox or similar software. From these Sharepoint is preferred but is not an easy set up task. This can also be seen as a advantage, since to my knowledge no other IPM system allows connection to Sharepoint. - Reporting capabilities are quite advanced, but if wanting to create advanced workflows with PDF/Word-documents and multiple connections between objects (patents, trademarks, agreements and so on) it is needed to use the Conga software, which is highly advanced but needs additional licenses, understanding and support. On the other hand, Conga is extremely powerful, and you can benefit from the whole Salesforce community and service providers. **What problems is IPfolio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We work more efficiently. We create more value by being able to visualize IP easier We can easily create new layouts, work flows and ways to work, all from our own admin user setup, without asking for development resources. ### 7. Beyond the obvious UI/UX improvements, Lightning has opened the door to new functionality/features that were previously impossible and we look forward to the continued tight-knit partnership with IPfolio to take advantage of this. We have been very happy with the improvements and Lightning continues to keep IPfolio at the forefront of IP management systems. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** There is still the odd bug here and there as a result of our transition to Lightning. The system is not able to use disclosure numbers that meet our needs. After three months, auto-numbering for our docket numbers and family numbers have not been implemented to our specs. No attempt was made to duplicate existing reports from our old system. As a result of the customization, the tool was nearly unusable it was so slow. IPfolio was able to customize the platform for our unique needs and it is still lightning fast to search and get the information that we need. We use the platform across all of our IP assets - patents, trademarks, and trade secrets - as well as to correlate our assets to agreements and partnerships. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** I wish that the interface between the patent review process was more streamlined. We had searched numerous tools to manage this process but IP Folio was the only one that was light weight and could be tailored to our specific process. We're also thrilled that it can track our IDS process upon application and we can create a shadow docket for our internal needs as well. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** While it can do everything we need, the solutions are tied to SalesForces' capabilities, so sometimes the solution is somewhat different than how you would typically expect to solve a given scenario. The system also allows to send emails straight to each IP matter, keeping all the communication and documents related to each matter in one place. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** The management of patent family can be somewhat unintuitive. **What problems is IPfolio solving and how is that benefiting you?** I no longer have to use spreadsheets to keep track of IP matters and download Patents and Patent applications for each matter as the system will retrieve them from official websites. Don't believe it. Companies like Anaqua, CPA Global and Clarivate will entice you in and then lock you in to using their services - even if they are more inefficient or costly. As our IP attorneys also have access, the database is very easily kept up to date at all times. The best part of it all is the amazing follow-up we get from the IPFolio guys who normally answer within only a couple of hours when sending them e-mails and problems/issues solved very quickly. **What do you dislike about IPfolio?** There is nothing to dislike.
