I appreciate that Illumine is reliable and works without getting in the way. It's pretty capable, and I find the parent communication feature to be good. Most of the user interface allows me to do what I want, and I like that the Montessori lessons are standard, rather than trying to create a new system that conflicts with authentic implementation. Illumine could really use a parent volunteer sign-up feature to replace tools like SignUpGenius, which I find obnoxious. Also, the lesson planning and recording features aren't as smooth or capable as what I'm used to with Transparent Classroom. I miss the ability to do a multiple selection for changes instead of having to click individually for each student, and the way Transparent Classroom lets me plan by days and move lessons around is much more useful.
