Icertis is a powerful enterprise CLM platform with strong contract management, workflow, reporting, integration, and emerging AI capabilities. Its biggest strength is the breadth of functionality available across the contract lifecycle. At the same time, realizing that value requires significant configuration, process design, data cleanup, training, and ongoing program management.
UI / UX – 3/5
The platform is functional, but the user experience can feel complex, particularly for occasional business users. In our environment, the contract request process has required users to navigate a large number of fields and activities across multiple systems. Our CLM program is actively simplifying this experience, with a future-state objective of reducing the Icertis request form from 144 fields to fewer than 80 and eliminating duplicative steps in other systems.
For experienced contracting users, the platform provides considerable flexibility. For infrequent requestors, however, thoughtful configuration, simplified forms, notifications, and role-based training are important to successful adoption.
Integrations – 2/5
Integration is one of Icertis's stronger areas, but the value depends heavily on implementation. Our program is working toward a model where contract information is captured once and then reliably used across systems, including integration with Workday.
More broadly, Icertis supports enterprise integrations, and Microsoft documents integration between Icertis and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management for processes including contract authoring, review, approval, execution, amendment, and termination.
The challenge is less about whether integrations are possible and more about getting data models, workflows, ownership, and upstream/downstream processes aligned.
Performance – 1/5
Icertis provides the capabilities expected from an enterprise CLM, but overall effectiveness depends considerably on configuration and the maturity of the surrounding processes. Internally, foundational areas such as vendor data, templates, workflow sequencing, approvals, and process design have been identified as factors affecting adoption.
Our current roadmap consequently emphasizes platform stabilization, configuration and data cleanup, process redesign, and adoption before expanding more advanced functionality.
Pricing / ROI – 3.5/5
Icertis represents a substantial enterprise investment, so ROI should be evaluated beyond license cost. The business case becomes more compelling when the organization can use the platform to improve contracting efficiency, reduce administrative effort, improve obligation management, and make contract information usable for decision-making.
Our internal business case projected approximately $5.23M in three-year program costs, $11.6M in benefits, and approximately 2.4x three-year ROI. Those are internal program estimates rather than guaranteed vendor outcomes.
This makes adoption particularly important: sophisticated CLM functionality provides limited ROI if users continue handling negotiations, approvals, reporting, or contract administration outside the platform.
Support / Onboarding – 3/5
Icertis is not a platform I would expect most enterprise organizations to simply deploy and allow users to learn organically. Successful onboarding benefits from role-based training, Super Users, clear process guidance, standardized templates, and continuing enablement.
That has been reflected in our own roadmap, which includes Super User onboarding, recurring enablement workstreams, template cleanup, and role-based training.
Organizations considering Icertis should therefore budget not only for implementation, but also for change management and sustained operational ownership after go-live.
AI / Intelligence – 4/5 for potential, 3/5 for realized value
AI is probably one of the more promising areas of the platform. Icertis currently positions its platform around capabilities including Vera Copilot, Vera Analytics, obligations, contract intelligence, and AI-assisted drafting, review and negotiation.
Our own roadmap includes Discover AI, obligation AI, Vera Analytics, self-service dashboards, Copilot, and broader AI enablement.
The key caveat is that AI value depends on the underlying contract data and processes. Our roadmap specifically treats data cleanup, process redesign, templates, training, and governance as dependencies for downstream intelligence and AI initiatives Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its efficacy pales in comparison to other CLMs I have used in the past. It takes multiple clicks to accomplish one task whereas in others it took at most, one or two clicks to complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
