## About Harper
HarperDB eliminates the complexity typically synonymous with distributed services by combining an ultra-fast document-style data store, in-memory cache, real-time message broker, and your application components into a single distributed technology. When clustered and geo-distributed, HarperDB nodes instantly synchronize data to deliver a horizontally scalable service fabric, ensuring low-latency in-region responses for clients worldwide. In addition to massive cost savings at scale, HarperDB’s REST, GraphQL, and real-time interfaces make light work of servicing frontend requirements. Install and manage on your hardware, or have us host your services with HarperDB Cloud. For questions, reach us at hello@harperdb.io.

One thing i dislike is challenges with documentation clarity and community support levels.

**What problems is Harper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 2. A Developers Lifesaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael K. | Developer Advocate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Harper?**

HarperDB ticks a lot of the boxes in my day-to-day responsibilities as a full-stack engineer. There are very few products that can handle all of the responsibilities HarperDB can and still achieve incredible speed and reliability. Combined with the fact that the system itself is incredibly easy to use and gives you the flexibility to get things done how you want, I come back to HarperDB for my projects all the time. Also, I've reached out to them with questions about implementations and they've always been incredibly helpful unblocking me which is super helpful.

**What do you dislike about Harper?**

There are no features I outright dislike, but I do wish there were additional features like job scheduling, singleton invocations, and static frontend customization.

**What problems is Harper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HarperDB has helped me in replacing a multi-container web stack I was running locally. I now only have to run one container and I can easily transfer data/functions from a remote Instance locally (or vice versa) - which helps a lot with development. HarperDB is also faster than my previous setup even though they were on the same container host previously.

  ### 3. HarperDB facilitates DBaaS to instantiate our deployments in our Production with just a few clicks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varshini S. | Database Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Harper?**

HarperDB is useful when you require managed service offering for your customer database. Since AWS powers its backend framework, there are no issues regarding unavailability or security breaches. Its clustering engine takes care of data replication between instances with remarkable consistency. It overcomes simultaneous update conflicts with the help of its intuitive database locking feature.

**What do you dislike about Harper?**

HarperDB is simple to use as its architecture supports bi-direction applications & can handle table-level replication activities without any complexity. For security reasons, we need to ensure that our edge instances are subscribed to the corresponding threshold table on the HarperDB instance. HarperDB automatically adds a new record to its alerts table whenever a violation occurs in these threshold values.

**What problems is Harper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We require a platform to provide fault-tolerant logistics of our client's data transactions & HarperDB takes care of these necessities. Since it's a low-code & manage service platform, we don't have to worry about writing codes or handling the underlying infrastructure. It's a highly reliable cloud-based framework, and we can connect to our instances remotely without device constraints. For carrying out our automated deployments in the production environment, we utilize the HarperDB CLI utility.

  ### 4. An easy to use database with great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Harper?**

I've used harperDB for a couple of apps. They provide a user-friendly dashboard UI where I can manage db clusters, schemas and tables, and have excellent documentation. They also offer a generous free tier, so I had plenty of runway to try them out before committing. Their custom functions also make it easy to set up a backend without needing to manage your own server.

**What do you dislike about Harper?**

It took me a little longer than expected to figure out how to use their JWT authentication, although that's probably on me!

**What problems is Harper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewing my data and tables from a webpage GUI makes life easier. Writing API routes with custom functions means I don't have to worry about setting up a server.
