# What's the best medical billing platform for medical practice teams managing 2-10 employees?

Hey G2 community, I've been putting together a comparison of medical billing software that actually holds up for a small practice team somewhere in the 2 to 10 employee range, since most reviews out there seem to be written from the perspective of a much bigger operation. A few names keep surfacing as a genuinely good fit for a team this size, and it's worth walking through why.

Tebra gets consistent praise for how clearly it lays out charge capture, letting billers compare a visit note against the charge in a couple of clicks to make sure coding is accurate. Its customer service is described as some of the best in the industry, and its Trizetto portal has reportedly sped up claims and enrollment noticeably.

TherapyNotes is called out for pairing an intuitive interface with genuinely fair pricing compared to other EHRs aimed at private practice. Onboarding a new client or therapist is described as easy, and the billing side runs through ERA and EDI features that keep the whole process in one place.

EZClaim is praised specifically for how quickly a new hire can learn it, with scheduling and billing described as straightforward enough that a small front desk team doesn't need extensive training to run it day to day.

Elation Health stands out for easy communication between providers, suppliers, and patients, plus PDF-to-fillable-form conversion that's cut down on paper intake for smaller primary care setups.

PracticeSuite earns praise for how quickly its live chat support resolves questions, with billing write-offs and adjustments described as simple to handle without a lot of back and forth.

What stands out across all five is that none of them are trying to be an enterprise health system's billing suite scaled down. They seem to be built for this exact size of team from the start.

Has anyone here run one of these at the very small end, like 2-3 people, and found it still worked well once the practice grew to 8 or 10?

Your closing question is a good one, and the thing that usually strains at eight or ten isn't volume, it's role separation. At two or three people everyone does everything, and by ten you want the front desk, the biller and the provider seeing different things, so permissions and audit visibility start mattering more than ease of entry. Tools praised for how fast a new hire picks them up, like EZClaim, are addressing the other side of that same growth curve, since more people joining is exactly what triggers the change.
