## GovSpend Reviews
 ### 1. GovSpend Provides a Wealth of Gov Contracting Information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex N. | Government Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

GovSpend is provides a wealth of continuously updated government contracting information. The customer support team set up all my search criteria with me. I know am able to view weekly updates. This has resulted in qualified targets, wins from blind RFQs, and strategic acquisitions.

I use GovSpend for 10-15 minutes every monday. 2-5 hours once a quarter doing deeper market research, and 3-5 hours once a year looking at the previous year, and the upcoming contracts.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

The platform is not the easiest to use. Its not difficult by any means, there is just a lot of information, and a lot of search options. You can see that the UI is thoughtfully designed, it just takes a learning curve. That curve was a barrier to entry for myself, luckily their support team set up my searches and I get what I need with minimal interaction with the platform.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps me identify and qualify government agencies. It provides RFPs and gives valuable competitive pricing and contracting data. The information has led to the acquisition of 10-12 new clients over the last 2 years, and 20-30 qualified opportunities. My sales cycle can take up to 3-4 years.

 ### 2. Deep Insights Made Easy—GovSpend’s Meeting Minutes Feature Shines

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay W. | Bids Response Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really appreciate the depth of information GovSpend makes available, along with the tools it provides to help me quickly find, access, and analyze that data. The Meetings Minutes feature is especially helpful and interesting because it lets us see how municipal and state governments use the information we’ve provided in our bid responses. Our account manager is very responsive and super helpful at assisting us in refining our searches to best capture the data we seek.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

It does take a significant amount of time to tweak the searches so they return the information we’re looking for, but that’s largely offset by the excellent support our account manager provides.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend is helping my team gain crucial insights into our market and our performance when responding to public purchasing opportunities. We receive customized notifications about bidding opportunities, and, in some cases, we learn about bids we wouldn’t have known about otherwise, except through GovSpend. We can also search and analyze previous awards, which helps us identify areas for improvement and better target potential future opportunities. Overall, GovSpend provides powerful business intelligence that we haven’t been able to find elsewhere.

 ### 3. GovSpend Saves Time with Custom Searches, Email Reminders, and Smart Bid Sorting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Missy F. | Administrative Assistant and Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

It is easy to create custom searches and easy to update those searches on a continuing basis. I love the email reminders that I get each morning. The information presented makes it easy to find those bids that pertain specifically to our company and I LOVE the fact that we can sort by bid due dates OR when the bid was posted. This helps us eliminate those that have passed or that we have no chance to complete in time. Basically, GovSpend saves a lot of time and effort by doing much of the work for us. Also, our GovSpend rep, Jessica Thompson, is a treasure. She is always available and ready and willing to help us fine tine what we are doing.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

You have to know what specific search words to use or what specific combination of search words in order to get the best results. Otherwise you are wading through a lot of stuff that does not apply to your company. Many of the bids are posted as new two or more times for the same bid. This causes confusion as we try to figure out if the bid we looked at last week is the same or has new information to the bid we are looking at today.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend allows us to look in one place for bids that we would have to search through many different sites to find.

 ### 4. GovSpend Makes Government Data Actionable and Streamlines Prospecting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura W. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

We’ve had a great experience with GovSpend. The software makes government and education data accessible and actionable, which has significantly improved how we research agencies and identify opportunities. The filtering capabilities are intuitive, and the insights help our team prioritize outreach with confidence. It’s saved us time and improved the quality of our prospecting efforts.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Because GovSpend aggregates a large volume of public data, it can take some time to learn how to filter, search, and interpret everything effectively. As a result, new users may benefit from onboarding or guidance before they feel fully confident navigating the platform. Also, data timeliness can vary depending on when agencies publish updates, which is common with government-sourced platforms and not necessarily specific to GovSpend.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps us uncover buying signals that would otherwise be difficult and time-consuming to find. We don't have to manually search through city council meetings, public records, and agency discussions.

This allows us to engage agencies at the right time—when technology discussions are already happening. It gives us visibility into active conversations, helps us understand the competitive landscape within specific municipalities, and enables much more strategic, timely outreach. Ultimately, it saves research time and helps us focus on real opportunities rather than guessing where interest may exist.

 ### 5. GovSpend Delivers Powerful Spend Visibility for Smarter Prospecting and Territory Strategy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh D. | Senior Sales Manager, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

What I value most about GovSpend is the visibility it gives our team into real government purchasing behavior. Not just intent signals, but actual spend data. It helps us understand who is buying, what they’re buying, how much they’re spending, and how frequently. That level of transparency is powerful.

From a sales leadership perspective, it sharpens territory strategy and account prioritization. It allows our reps to have more informed, relevant conversations because they can walk in knowing the agency’s purchasing patterns and existing vendor relationships. It’s also helpful for identifying expansion opportunities within existing accounts and uncovering net-new prospects we may not have otherwise targeted.

In short, it supports smarter prospecting and more strategic pipeline development.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Like many data platforms, the value you get is directly tied to how effectively your team uses it. There can be a learning curve, and it requires intentional adoption to fully leverage the insights available.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend solves one of the biggest challenges in public sector sales: lack of visibility. Government buying can feel opaque: long cycles, multiple stakeholders, and limited transparency into actual spend behavior. GovSpend brings clarity to that.

It gives us concrete insight into who is spending money, how much they’re spending, what vendors they’re using, and where contracts are being awarded. That helps eliminate guesswork in territory planning and prospecting. Instead of chasing assumptions, our team can prioritize accounts based on real purchasing data.

From a leadership standpoint, it improves focus and efficiency. We can identify whitespace opportunities, spot competitive displacement plays, and guide reps toward accounts with demonstrated buying activity. That translates into better conversations, stronger pipeline quality, and ultimately higher conversion rates.

 ### 6. Great for Prospecting Contractors and Reviewing Past Projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin M. | Business Development Manager - Government, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like using it to review previous sales and look up contractors. When I’m prospecting, I use the "spend" tab to search for a contractor and help qualify them. Contractors with larger spend are the ones I go after. It’s also great for reviewing past projects, seeing whether they’re recurring, and then prospecting based on that.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I don’t like the current bid search tab. Even after trying a variety of keyword searches, I still can’t reliably locate relevant bids in my sales territory (eastern US). When I do find bids, they’re often posted too late for us to submit a bid or attend a pre-bid meeting.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a central repository to look up prospective contractors, and it should include more than just contact details. It would let me qualify a contractor as a sales prospect by seeing how much the government spends with them, what projects they have worked on in the past, and whether they are growing or doing less than last year. I’m not aware of another tool that helps me qualify customers in this way. ZoomInfo and similar platforms mainly provide contact information.

 ### 7. GovSpend: Easy to Navigate, Information-Rich, and a Smooth Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rayonan H. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like using GovSpend because it's easy to navigate, provides a ton of information, and working with our representative has been so easy and fun. Our teams dig in frequently to review information, and its been so easy to update when we need to. Integration went so smooth with Jess on our side. Meeting insights has been critical when trying to get ahead of information.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

There's not much I don't like. Getting keywords just right can be tricky sometimes, but it's easy to fix. Once we dig into the features, it get really easy to execute.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend is helping us identify work in new markets and new geographies that we might not know of. We are able to move faster and with more efficiency because we use GovSpend. Being proactive is the hardest thing to do when responding to RFPS.

 ### 8. GovSpend Is My Favorite for High-Quality, Customized Leads

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam N. | Director of Business Development-Northeast- Education , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I use GovSpend for lead generation and have had a lot of success finding new projects and contacts. The training sessions and 1:1 engagements with the internal GovSpend team have been incredibly valuable. I use a few lead generation platforms, and GovSpend is my favorite because of the quality of the leads and the more customized approach. Also, once you have your searches and dashboard set up properly, it is incredibly easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Occasionally, the leads can be older and outdated, and by the time they’re posted to GovSpend, it’s already too late to get in on the specifications.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me GovSpend helps me find out information on projects I may not be aware of, awarded contracts, awarded A&E firms, and contacts that I may not know already. It provides public information all in one place.

 ### 9. Actionable Public Sector Insights That Drive Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassandra L. | VP of Growth, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

Ease of implementation and integration, and overall ease of use. Actionable public sector insight. Powerful, proactive data that gives a real competitive intelligence edge and turns information into growth.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Everything in this tool is extremely useful. There is definitely a learning curve when you’re moving from a new user to a more advanced, master level, but the customer support and training are incredible and make the process much easier, as well as the frequency of use helps streamline the learning curve.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend eliminates time-consuming manual research and gives us clear visibility into historical contracts, spending patterns, and competitive positioning. It allows us to move from reactive bid tracking to proactive engagement, helping us identify opportunities earlier, strengthen proposals with verified data, and grow our public-sector presence with confidence.

 ### 10. Effortlessly Tracks Public Bid Opportunities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott R. | Sales Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I love how much data is available at my fingertips with GovSpend. The search and filter capabilities allow me to look at exactly what I want to see. GovSpend helps me save time by providing a curated list of opportunities, making me confident that I'm not missing key opportunities. It curates all the various sources of public bid knowledge and makes it easy to get alerted of these opportunities to jump on and submit things earlier and directly, which I find very valuable.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

The learning curve for me was probably unique as I started using GovSpend in a sales opportunity capacity but not having sales experience or background. I had to learn quite a bit to get up to speed to the capabilities of the service. If I could start over my experience with GovSpend using the knowledge I have now, I think I would have a better start. The deficiencies were on my part, not on GovSpend's. My one bit of feedback is that if there was training to "Hey, this is how recommend doing sales using our service..." type guide, that would be helpful.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend curates public bid opportunities, saving me time and ensuring I don't miss key chances. It alerts me to relevant bids, so I can submit earlier, focusing only on the most pertinent projects.

 ### 11. A Must-Have for Financial Oversight and RFP Tracking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maggie L. | Vice President of Sales, Americas, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I love how easy GovSpend is to use. Being able to build searches and find the information I'm looking for, and then bounce back and forth between those searches really saves a lot of time. It also has an easy to use UI, making it quick to pick up and learn. The records go back quite some time, so we're able to really look at a historical view of a potential customer's purchasing to understand how those patterns may have changed over time.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

You have to really know your competitors or what terms you need to search for. This is because GovSpend pulls in the information from the PO or other sources, and the purchasing agency may have listed the vendor name or product name or description as something different than expected, making it difficult to find when running a search unless you know what to look for. For example, if I'm searching for agencies that have bought a competitor's product, I not only search for the product name, but the competitor company name, and keyword descriptors for that product to ensure that I'm not missing anything.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to understand where accounts are spending money and to identify changes in their spending. It helps me search RFPs and other bids instead of having to login to several different bid sites. In a previous role, we were able to uncover fraud committed by a partner because we could see POs they had received but not submitted to us, resulting in us recouping thousands of dollars and several hundred customers.

 ### 12. GovSpend’s Search-First UI and Strong Local/State Bid Coverage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick C. | Proposal and Training Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I have used several platforms for bid search and intelligence in the past. There are several things that I think GovSpend does better than other solutions, but the primary one is the search based user interface which makes it easy to create new saved searches for my business. Additionally, their data footprint gives us very good coverage at the local and state level in the US and pretty good coverage at the Provincial level in Canada, which we need. Our rep at GovSpend is also very knowledgeable and the regular touchpoints help keep us up to date with new product features.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

There are no major issues I have had with the GovSpend service but one area I hope they improve upon is de-duplicating some of the opportunities in the bids module. I often see an opportunity that appears 2 or 3 times (often with different levels of detail/document attachments). I assume these are scraped from different sources, but i would be nice if the solution were able to combine these or determine the best entry and keep just that one.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the GovSpend platform to solve two main needs for my business, RFP/Bid search and Purchase Order intelligence for potential clients and our competitors.

 ### 13. Insightful and Supportive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really do like the support that GovSpend lends to help us in our business. Our inside manager, Kayla, has a great understanding of what we look for and helps us uncover ways to use GovSpend more effectively. She's always there to help us when we need it. Kayla is there when we need a little bit of help customizing a report or uncovering ways to use GovSpend. She provides line of sight for new things that come out through GovSpend when there's changes. She also helps us with onboarding and offboarding users, which is sometimes needed. Just overall, a really great person to work with, and I always appreciate her assistance. The initial setup was actually really good, and I owe a lot of that to Kayla and her team for helping us understand and train users.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Sometimes the software interface can be a bit difficult. It's a little disconnected from our normal system, and it takes some time to fully understand. There's a lot of modules to learn, not that it's bad, but it can be a challenge sometimes to figure out how to use it for our business.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to gather insights on competitors and customers we may not know about and understand their spending. It provides visibility into marketplaces and customers we don't normally engage with.

 ### 14. Top-Tier Service with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really appreciate GovSpend's exceptional customer service and the fact that they include unlimited training with an actual relationship management team. The training, done by industry experts in the USA, is top tier and helps me master the software, especially with its evolving AI functionality. I also love how the training covers product improvements, making it easier than just reading a FAQ document. The time savings that GovSpend provides is incredible, as it helps me efficiently find prospecting and closing info. The initial setup was great, and the relationship management team has been awesome, even when I meet them at trade shows. Overall, I think they are offering a unique service unmatched by others.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I don’t have any specific challenges with GovSpend. The biggest challenge is that I wish I had found it earlier.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to find prospecting and closing info, search for contracts without FOIA requests, and get competitive intel. It saves me time and helps review council meetings.

 ### 15. Revolutionized Municipal Monitoring and RFP Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly N. | Member Of The Board Of Advisors, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really appreciate GovSpend's meeting intelligence, which lets us break out information by territory so each team member has insights into what's happening. This enables us to email, call, and reach out based on real-time insights to the right people. The AI feature is a big help as it quickly tells us who said what regarding meetings, saving us from spending hours combing through them. The open bids feature is incredibly useful for quickly generating bid briefs, aligning them with our category, capturing documents, and finding out where to submit the bid. I also like the purchase orders feature, which allows us to see how much a prospect has spent in our category and helps us determine potential partners in a state based on spending patterns. Another feature I enjoy is the AI notebooks, which allow me to group prospects to capture insights for blogs and case studies, see historical intelligence, and track trends to keep our messaging relevant. Overall, these features save us time and help us reach key moments swiftly, making the setup super simple.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I wish that the technology pulled all of the contact information in from agency websites. It is publicly available. While we can push the agency and the RFP into our CRM, it would be incredibly helpful to have a full list of agency contacts available, with filters (title, position, sub agency) to push into the CRM.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to track prospects, monitor RFPs and contracts, and identify potential partners. Its AI features allow me to quickly analyze meetings and events, saving time and providing real-time insights for efficient outreach.

 ### 16. Intuitive, Valuable Insights but Needs Search Improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wayne D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I find GovSpend very intuitive and easy to use. Creating a white space report for our target agencies across all states was straightforward; it took me just two data polls. This ease of use significantly reduces wasted time and allows us to be precise and targeted when identifying agencies that might benefit from our solutions and services. The initial setup of GovSpend was a piece of cake, taking no time at all.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

The searching through meetings can be difficult. The purchase order system relies on keywords in descriptions instead of actual fields, which means I have to search by inspecting the keywords in the description of the PO, and that's difficult and can be less accurate.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to identify market opportunities and target specific agencies. It helps me see competitor presence, understand technology stacks, and find the right contacts to reach out to, making my outreach more precise and less time-consuming.

 ### 17. Invaluable Insights with Extensive Data Coverage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas M. | Enterprise Account Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like that GovSpend provides a ton of data from all over the country, covering every niche and all of my customers. This extensive and comprehensive data availability is impressive because all my customers are there, so nothing is missing. I can look up every account and know what people are spending and with whom. This helps me understand the competitive landscape, especially knowing who the incumbent is in a competitive deal or a takeover deal. I've never had this much data to work with before, and it makes GovSpend really valuable for me.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Sometimes it's hard to search and unify the name that's in our system, like our CRM versus GovSpend. We might call them slightly different, so there could be better search capabilities that allow you to 100% match up or search by other parameters. If anything is different in the name, sometimes the data just doesn't show up, even though it's there, and you're just not finding it. That's the biggest thing.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend clears up the budget details, competitor pricing, and customer spending, so I can predict future spending. It offers extensive data across the whole country, letting me see spending trends and my competitors, which helps in competitive or takeover deals.

 ### 18. Robust Meeting Intelligence Yet Needs Better Lead Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hillary H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

My favorite feature is the meeting intelligence and leveraging AI to research through a variety of clients and committee meetings. It helps me understand if my clients are thinking about sustainability, which are the services I'm trying to sell. It also helps me understand who the key players are that come to most of the city council meetings and town council meetings, giving me a little bit more background on where they're at and what they're talking about on a weekly basis.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I often have trouble accessing who the key players are, and the smaller towns don't seem to appear on GovSpend, so I need to contact GovSpend to get some of that research completed. Also, I keep on getting an email for a lead that is completely irrelevant to me, and the GovSpend team was unable to turn that off.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend for municipal research and meeting intelligence to see where clients are with energy plans. It helps me identify key players at city meetings and understand if clients consider sustainability, aiding my service promotion.

 ### 19. Efficient and Insightful, Needs Data Clean-Up

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack D. | Corporate Strategy Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really like the ease of use with GovSpend, as I can quickly toggle through different searches which makes the process efficient. The detail and ability to aggregate a lot of data in one place is very useful for my day-to-day job. With the extensive dataset GovSpend maintains, I can make very accurate and credible estimates about market sizes. The initial setup was easy, and the GovSpend team is very proactive in offering help.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Sometimes there are spelling errors in data points throughout the database. These errors cause me to stop and have to manually fix them and sometimes even make assumptions about what the data is trying to say. If these could be minimized, the service would be even better.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps me estimate government-funded market sizes, understand what potential customers are buying, and provides a large dataset for credible market size estimates. Its ease of use and data aggregation improve my day-to-day tasks.

 ### 20. GovSpend: A Critical Tool for Streamlining Contract Research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

What I enjoy most about GovSpend is absolutely the employees that we work with. The customer service and the customer support team is extremely helpful, often responding within a few minutes. They go above and beyond in walking us through the product, whether it was the initial demo or ongoing use. I'm often very impressed with how GovSpend goes behind the scenes to get additional information for us in response to our requests or queries. We go into a conversation expecting to find information pertaining to our initial ask or project, and GovSpend goes above and beyond, providing way well above that, impressing us with the amount and quality of what they provide back.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I don't really have too much that doesn't work well. Obviously, contracts and understanding the language and the details there can be difficult at times, but I feel that GovSpend does a really good job in helping the user understand that and navigate that.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps us with research into state organizations contract spending, and purchase orders. It provides access to federal information and makes finding contracts or scopes of work easier. This saves us time compared to searching for incomplete public information online.

 ### 21. Solid Platform for Government Market Intelligence

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex G. | Market Intelligence Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

The depth of procurement data is what stands out most. Being able to see historical purchase orders down to the line item, alongside active bids and contract information, gives you a much more complete picture of what agencies are actually buying rather than just what they say they're buying. The platform is also surprisingly easy to navigate given how much data it pulls together.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to building effective searches. The platform has a lot of capability, but getting your filters and saved searches dialed in takes some trial and error upfront. Better onboarding resources or guided setup would help new users get to value faster.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem it solves is visibility. Government procurement data is technically public but it's scattered across hundreds of sources and nearly impossible to synthesize manually. GovSpend pulls it together in a way that makes it actionable. For market insights work, that means less time chasing raw data and more time actually analyzing it and building strategy around it

 ### 22. Saves Time with Efficient RFP Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like using GovSpend for researching existing and expiring contracts, which is very helpful. The tool is great for finding RFPs to bid on, and the AI tool makes the RFP review process quicker. I especially appreciate that it saves me hours per RFP to figure out if the opportunity is a good fit for us. The competitive analysis feature is also valuable. The initial setup of GovSpend was easy, and I appreciate having a good customer success manager.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Narrowing down the RFP keywords to find exactly what I want in my daily digest can take a few attempts before filtering out noise. We sometimes get some RFPs that have nothing to do with the keywords we inputted. We started using 'exclude keywords,' but that means I have to update it every time I see something irrelevant.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to research contracts and find RFPs to bid on, saving hours per RFP in evaluation and analysis. The competitive analysis feature helps identify target prospects effectively.

 ### 23. Fast, Clear Visibility into Government Spending Data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay B. | Director of Sales Operations & Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

GovSpend gives our team clear visibility into government spending data without having to dig through dozens of state and local portals. The biggest value for us is speed. Instead of manually searching individual procurement sites, we can quickly identify who is buying, what they are buying, how much they are spending, and which vendors are winning.

The filtering capabilities are solid. We can narrow by vendor, agency, state, contract amount, and time frame, which makes territory planning and account research much more efficient. It is especially helpful for:

1. Identifying net-new prospects based on actual spend behavior
2. Tracking incumbent vendors and competitive activity
3. Understanding historical contract values before outreach
4. Preparing for renewal or rebid conversations

The data helps our sales team go into conversations informed, not guessing.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Like most large data platforms, there’s a learning curve at the beginning. New users need a bit of time to learn how to filter correctly and interpret what they’re seeing, and some records also require additional context. If you’re making strategic decisions based on a specific contract line, you may need to validate the details directly with the agency.

It’s also not a replacement for a CRM or a relationship-building strategy. It’s a data tool, and it works best when it’s paired with a clear sales process.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest challenge was fragmented visibility into public sector spending. Government procurement data is public, but it’s scattered and inconsistent across jurisdictions. GovSpend centralizes that information and makes it genuinely usable.

It helps us prioritize accounts based on real budget activity, spot expansion opportunities within existing government customers, identify competitor strongholds and whitespace, and support forecasting with actual spend history.

From a Sales Operations perspective, this improves targeting and reduces wasted effort. Reps spend more time talking to the right agencies and less time chasing accounts that aren’t actively buying.

 ### 24. Insightful Tool with Strong Support, Room for UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like the support that GovSpend provides. They offer a concierge, an individual we can talk to for improving our search results, using the tool better, and gathering additional information. It's really helpful to have a partner and somebody who can help you out, especially when being onboarded with a new tool. The initial setup was very easy. They give us a trial period, making it easy to jump right in once we had an account.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

The platform is sometimes a little unintuitive. Some of the search criteria, navigating between tabs, and organizing data is not super intuitive and easy to understand. It takes a little bit of effort to consolidate multiple searches into a single project. Although they are making improvements daily, it can still be a bit challenging. There are also gaps in the data available and while they do support you in getting that missing data, that can sometimes be too slow for my workflow.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend saves time by providing unique insights into client spending patterns without formal requests. I like the company support that improves search results and tool usage with the help of a concierge.

 ### 25. Efficient Filtering and Saved Searches with GovSpend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** HABI A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I love the fact that you can create a saved search in GovSpend and revisit it each time you log in rather than having to start all over again. With the saved search, it creates the report, so when I log in, all I have to do is just click it and it pulls up exactly what I'm looking for, whether it's in the public sector or federal space without commingling. GovSpend's filtering feature helps narrow down exactly what I'm looking for rather than providing generic accounts to filter through manually. Additionally, the setup was relatively easy, as I did not need assistance from anybody else.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I wish there was a way that it will not just pull every key search along with once I receive an RP. I wish there was an easier way to clear that off my system so I'm not receiving a daily reminder.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps me narrow down exactly what I'm looking for with its filtering feature, avoiding the need to manually sift through generic accounts.

 ### 26. Insightful AI with Competitive Pricing Clarity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary D. | Sr. Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really like the AI features and the breadth of knowledge that GovSpend offers. It's been helpful in finding out where my customers' current needs are for IT and where they're looking to be in the future. This has allowed me to meet a number of new customers. I also found the initial setup to be very easy to roll out.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Ease of use to begin. Had to have 3 training sessions to really understand how beneficial the tools are

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend for tracking open RFQs and learning competitive pricing. It helps me identify my customers' current IT needs and future goals, allowing me to meet new customers.

 ### 27. Empowers Bidding Insights and Competitor Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian L.

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like that GovSpend lets us easily search for potential bids based on keywords, making it convenient to find relevant opportunities. I also appreciate the competitor analysis feature, which provides insight into what and who our competitors are selling to, and helps us understand their customer base.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

No matter how much we fine-tune our saved searches, there seems to be a lot of irrelevant bids that make their way into our saved searches. It would be nice if the new AI features got implemented into that to kind of make results more relevant to what we go after. If there was just a checkbox that says 'this is relevant to me' or 'this is not relevant to me' and have an AI automatically filter results based on that so that it shows us less bids that we would not even go after, it would be perfect. Or if the AI asked why it wasn't relevant to us.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend lets us see deals we wouldn't otherwise find and gives us insight into what and who our competitors are selling to.

 ### 28. Efficient RFP Tracking with Powerful Filters

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh V. | PS Inside Client Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I use GovSpend to prospect in my territory, and it helps me stay updated on what RFPs are available and what my customers are buying. GovSpend sends me a daily digest of new RFPs, keeping these opportunities at the forefront of my inbox and mind. I like the rich set of features, especially the intelligent filters, which assist me in searching and identifying specific accounts to work with in my expansive territory.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

The daily emails could be more tailored to my accounts. My territory has a specific enrollment size, and it pulls all accounts within the territory, so there are a number of false positives.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to prospect in my territory. It keeps me updated on available RFPs and what my customers are buying. The daily digest of RFPs keeps opportunities front of mind. The search filters are helpful for identifying specific accounts in my large territory.

 ### 29. Comprehensive Public Sector RFP Insights in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

There is comprehensive information available on RFPs related to public sector organizations. It’s definitely a very good place to check if an organization or an individual wants to learn more about procurement-related opportunities associated with public sector entities.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

One thing that could be improved is that previous search strings still remain in the search box, so I have to clear or reset it before starting a new search. Another helpful enhancement would be to include vendor information once an opportunity is closed.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend provides reliable information about opportunities that exist for public sector entities. We do not have to look at multiple sources to go through the information.

 ### 30. Effortlessly Streamlined Research with GovSpend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like using GovSpend to consolidate all the information I'm looking for quickly and organized, which saves me tons of time. I really appreciate being able to filter my search results to my specific territory. The meeting intelligence feature is also a big plus for me; it allows me to keyword search specific terms and jump straight to that part of the meeting, saving me 5-10 hours a week of just listening. The initial setup was very easy and user-friendly, requiring not much training.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Sometimes the items listed on purchases or POs are very vague and not detailed with brands or models.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend consolidates information quickly and organized, saving me tons of time. I like filtering search results by territory and the meeting intelligence feature, which saves me 5-10 hours a week by letting me keyword search and jump to specific meeting parts.

**Reviewed by:** Steve F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really like GovSpend's easily searchable and filterable set of information, as there's a lot of data available, and being able to filter it to just what is relevant makes it usable and valuable. I also appreciated the excellent support and ongoing training they provide, even though the initial setup was a bit difficult.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

It wasn't immediately intuitive. It took some time to learn how to filter properly for the best results. They have so much data I was running into analysis paralysis at first. It was a little difficult to initially set up.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend for finding potential sales, competitor intelligence, and understanding our share of wallet with schools. It helps with prospecting, identifying supplier preferences if they aren't ordering from us, and gives insights into clients' budgets. The searchable and filterable data is unique and makes vast information usable and valuable.

 ### 32. Powerful Insights, Intuitive Search Capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I really appreciate the search and filter features on Spending & POs. They help me efficiently sift through data, particularly when searching through Meeting Intelligence for any references to our company and our competitors. I love the ability to search for a set of competitors by name or broaden the search by an entire state or region, or even limit it to specific municipalities. I found the initial setup quite easy, and logging in for the first time felt very intuitive. Additionally, our Account Manager has been very proactive in keeping us informed about new features.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I'd love more ways to build custom searches that I can save and refer back to as the data changes.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend for researching competitor contracts and identifying software spend by agencies, which helps me understand pricing for our solutions and track competitor contract expirations.

 ### 33. Essential Tool for Competitive Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like that GovSpend allows me to look up a certain agency and find out how much they're spending with my competition. This feature is helpful because it lets me see if there are any purchase orders open with the competition, which helps us determine if we're losing any business and potentially gives us a chance to try and get that business away from the competition. Also, the initial setup of GovSpend was very easy.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I'd like to be able to limit more results. It's hard to get some of the things that are not pertinent to my business filtered out, just the way that the filtering system works.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps us be aware of upcoming bids and contracts with our competition. I can see how much certain agencies spend with competitors, which helps us identify and possibly regain lost business.

 ### 34. Easy to Use with Valuable Customer Insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arah S.

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like how GovSpend is easy to use, and it lets me access all the necessary information, like what my customers purchase, when they usually purchase, and how much they purchase. This helps me configure my messaging by learning their purchasing process and timeline. I really appreciate that aspect because it makes my communication more relevant and shows my customers that I understand their needs. Also, the initial setup of GovSpend was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I wish it could be easier to filter things. They can send more updated emails, like about iPad purchases for the school year.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend for researching my customers, particularly in education. It's easy to use and provides detailed purchasing information like what, when, and how much they buy. This helps me configure my message to customers, demonstrating that I understand their purchasing process.

 ### 35. Streamlines Spending Data with AI, Needs Search Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

I like that GovSpend's AI will sum up a board meeting and specifically tell me what was mentioned about special education and funding. It provides information if a district is using a different contracting company, how much money they're spending, and on what specific services over different periods of time. The initial setup of GovSpend was easy.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I find the AI search part of GovSpend confusing with a lot of sections and buttons, which makes it hard to learn. It takes me a long time to search for answers, and the AI search wasn't working correctly the other day, only online.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GovSpend to find competitor info and understand school district spending. It helps me see opportunities for advancement. I like how AI helps summarize meetings, showing what's said about special education and funding.

There's always useful information and updates every day on council meetings and alerts, which is very, very useful because I'm always alerted and in the front seat, knowing what's going on. The initial setup was very easy. I had team members walk me through it, and they were very kind. One team member, Kayla, was very, very helpful.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

I have no complaints

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend helps me pinpoint municipalities and access useful information like RSVPs and addresses. It keeps me updated with daily alerts on what's happening in municipalities and meetings, directing me to the right decisions.

**Reviewed by:** Heather H. | Bid Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

Our company gets a lot of solicitations that we can submit bids on.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

A lot of them are the same as we have already received from other bid services we use & with GovSpend it's usually a delay in days that it has already been posted for that we will get the email about it.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes we receive more documents that we don't with other services or more information about the bids.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about GovSpend?**

when I am targeting agencies using document management, capture, or workflow platforms, I can see actual line-item spend tied to vendors. Instead of guessing who might be using Kofax, Hyland, or a competing platform, I can validate it with historical purchase data. That shortens research time and improves targeting accuracy.

**What do you dislike about GovSpend?**

Data cleanliness varies by state. Some agencies provide deep detail; others provide vague line descriptions.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes it's difficult to find a specific customer because their purchases are lumped together. It would be great for the search feature to be just a little bit easier.

**What problems is GovSpend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GovSpend provides RFPs and past POs, helping me determine price points and understand competitors. Its ease of use allows me to find hard-to-access information, making it simple to weed out opportunities.
