## Function Point Reviews
  ### 1. Great for Organization, But Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nisha D. | Client financial analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

What I like best about Function Point is how it brings all project management, time tracking, and financials into one place. It makes it easy to see the status of projects, track budgets, and collaborate with the team without juggling multiple tools. For me, it really helps stay organized and ensures nothing falls through the cracks, which makes managing projects much less stressful.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

One thing I find challenging about Function Point is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially with all the features and modules. Some tasks, like generating specific reports or customizing workflows, aren’t always as intuitive as I’d like, so there’s a bit of a learning curve. That said, once you get used to it, it’s really powerful and keeps everything organized.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Function Point helps solve the challenge of keeping projects, finances, and team collaboration all in one place. It makes it easier to track project progress, monitor budgets, and manage resources without switching between multiple tools. For me, it saves time, reduces mistakes, and gives a clear picture of how projects are performing, which makes planning and decision-making much smoother.

  ### 5. Project management tracking tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Padmanaban S. | Deputy Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

It is used to track the undertaking and hold normal finances in control.Time monitoring one of the key tool of the software. It enables to pick out the productiveness of the worker time. There is predominant dashboard customization wherein consumer can do it primarily based totally on their interest

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Some of the access withinside the platform takes a great deal of time.It is hard to download all of the documents at a single point. Ease of use is hard, and it time taking manner to teach the worker withinside the system

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used to apply worker productivity to finish the challenge in the time. Productivity hours were recorded more excellent accurately. It is more transparency to everyone in the project.

  ### 6. A project management tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

The functionality of every employee in the company using the same slow-loading, multi-tab spreadsheet at the same time. The UI is dated, the experience of posting, commenting, and creating tasks or jobs is excruciatingly slow.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I anticipate onboarding new users will be challenging. Everything takes at least ten clicks or keystrokes and 30 seconds of load time to view one piece of information or send a task to the next person. The mobile app is also unhelpful as it is only a time-keeping tool and allows users to view jobs but not comment or interact otherwise. I could see this being useful for a company that makes sales, where there is a need to record interactions, but not much else.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each change has been an improvement with the way technology has been evolving. Overall all the staff at Function Point are friendly and intelligent and have excellent customer service skills.

  ### 7. Do not buy Function Point if your are a Professional Services Organization!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig S. | CEO and Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Nothing. We were sold on the promise of their solution being revolutionary for our business, especially for project management. They failed miserably. The interface is clunky and required a lot of manual steps that we didn't have with our old system.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Everything. During implementation, we were told that this is the way the system works and we were forced to accept work arounds as solutions to get the tool to work for us. In the end it was clear that Function Point does not understand project management whatsoever. Their tool couldn't even do basic task dependencies ... For example, if you update the date on a task, you have to then manually update the dates on all dependent tasks. We have some project plans with 100s of tasks on them, so this would have become a huge administrative nightmare for our project managers.

In the end, after working with their implementation team for 3 months, we cancelled the project because it was going to require us to hire at least one more fulltime person just to handle the additional administration. The purpose of investing in the tool was to reduce complexity and reduce manual workload, but their tool did the exact opposite.

We met with their executive team to try to come to a resolution, but unfortunately they stuck to their guns of the contract and said that it was non-refundable. They refused to provide any refund whatsoever, despite us having paid for 12 months up front (that's their licensing model, they don't do monthly pay as you go subscription like a true SaaS company) and the fact that we only really had access to the tool for 1/4th of the duration of the subscription.

I highly recommend that you do not do business with this company. They look at their customers as just money in the door, they do not have compassion for their customer's needs and do not listen when told that their product causes manual workload. They do not seem to care about their customers, they just build the product as they want to without listening to customer input.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

If you are a professional services company doing projects then DO NOT BUY FUNCTION POINT! Nightmare!

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, we cancelled the project after a failed implementation. We gave the implementation two attempts, including escalating to the customer success team manager and getting her involved in the second implementation attempt. All they key saying is, let's try it again. However, we were unwilling to commit more time to the project because we had already spent more time than what we had spent on the software.

  ### 8. FunctionPoint is a good option for agencies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark D. | Founder, President & CEO, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Tracking hours is straightforward and reports provide the Business Intelligence needed.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

CRM could be more funnel friendly to the sales process. While FP has the fundamental features, the process is more manual than other systems reviewed. Creating estimates could be streamlined.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hours have been recorded more accurately and consistently, projects are managed more easily, and billing is flexible and straightforward. Customer service is excellent.

  ### 9. Function Point - Your All-in-one Agency Management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish R. | Flutter developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

It is designed to boost the productivity and profitability of our creative agency also it is designed to keep projects on schedule and under budget. Manage projects, improve collaboration, and accurately track time—all on one screen.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Its Client Engagement is not very advanced and It needs subjective evaluations with a lot of judgement involved. Also Less research data is available on function points as compared to LOC.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It becomes easy with the software to track the team performance and to manage their tasks and we were scheduling work for employees and tracking work done for clients.

  ### 10. Project and task management software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek A. | Data & Management information system Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Project management software with time tracking system. You can also create estimates and invoices, Intergrate with quickbooks. It can also manage tasks for team members.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

some reports are hard to find and not easy to understand but overall the software is good

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It become easy with the software to track the team performance and to manage their tasks.

  ### 11. We switched from this to ActiveCollab

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

They had a good way to measure people's available time when scheduling tasks.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

It was kind of outdated when we had it. Moved a bit slow.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were scheduling work to employees and tracking work done for clients.

  ### 12. Functionpoint makes time entry easy for agency staff

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aidan G. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I keep FunctionPoint open all day, so I can track my hours without needing to look back at the past month and compare emails and calendars to try and account for my billable hours.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The interface is a little clunky -- and I only use the weekly view to enter my time, which you have to click on a couple places to get to.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FunctionPoint has helped with time tracking and billing for our communications agency. Plus it lets us drill down specifically as to how we are spending time on accounts. Social media vs Media relations Vs Account management, etc.

  ### 13. Terrible design

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I can't think of anything I like best about this program. From the start it is so clunky to work in.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The breadcrumb way of finding things is a bad design. You have to get out of windows to find something else. The design is hard to understand and I would enjoy being to see things clearer on the dashboard.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Make the interface easier to use. Take away the breadcrumbs and put icons on a side bar

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've realized that our team doesn't like it enough to look into other program management software.

  ### 14. Function Point as a project management system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point helps our agency keep track of all open jobs and associated tasks.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

There is a portal for clients to access files, but it doesn't allow for easy collaboration.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to assign tasks has been a big benefit. It helps us avoid things falling through the cracks. Everyone can see the tasks they are responsible for on their dashboard, and we can pass them around as necessary.

  ### 15. Not Perfect, But Better Than Most

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point is a bit more user friendly than many of the project management and time tracking tools that I've used in the past. The ability to create calendars and charts from a collection of projects is great. It's also nice to be able to track progress on a specific task or job in real time and know how close to completion it is. There's also some nice customizations available on the main dashboard on a per user basis.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Some parts of the platform are a tad clunky. Sharing files isn't ideal beyond small images or documents. Collaboration within the tool also takes some getting used to (learning the difference between Notes, Comments, Briefs, Pinning to Dashboards, etc). It also does not integrate with our media system, which is a problem specific to us, but a frustration nonetheless.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Be sure to give it a thorough vetting before you jump in. These tools have a very significant impact on how you run your business, and you'll want to be sure that it aligns well with your current processes and people. Get feedback and buy in from folks in the organization who might not be key decision makers, but who will be heavy users.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're an internal agency and so we use Function Point to facilitate communication and project completion for our company from a marketing standpoint. It allows our Account Managers to enter project briefs so that our resource teams can receive the direction and begin working on the project. It also enables us to track time against each of those projects so that we can bill out work appropriately as well as organize the workloads of our team members.

  ### 16. Easy to use, efficient

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like the time sheets and how you are able to easily change time from past dates

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I don't like that you are unable to download all files at one time

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better billing for our accounting department.

  ### 17. Good management system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point is a one stop show for most things. We are able to manage a lot internally within this platform, and there are a lot of capabilities to it.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Tome entry within the platform can take some considerable amount of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

I would do a lot of research and watch their webinars!

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us organize internally

  ### 18. Organization!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

We use Function Point to organize all of our tasks, clients, vendors and billing at our company. I like that you can put the amount of time to each task that you complete, assign tasks that you can't do to other people and see a weekly view of the times. I also like that it is easy to enter client and vendor information and create expense reports and purchase orders.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I don't like that Function Point calculates time by the 15 minute mark. So if you've completed something in between, you either have to round up or down.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

If you're looking for an easy way to organize and assign tasks to the team, Function Point is the program to use!

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to see how much time we put to different projects and tasks so we can appropriately bill specific clients.

  ### 19. FP has great customer service and really good training tools! Make the most of it.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebecca C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

FunctionPoint is a really holistic approach to looking at your campaigns. It ties your revenue to employee productivity, allowing you to see where and why jobs go over/under budget.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

There are a lot of facets to FunctionPoint to explore and learn, making it overwhelming if you don't have the time for proper training. However, FP's representatives are wonderful and they provide a library of resources for learning. It's important to schedule enough training time with your employees so they feel comfortable in the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Invest time in the training tools and really utilize your company rep. to get the most out of the system.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits: staying within a client's budget by utilizing tasks and schedules, predicting employee utilization over time for business development purposes, calculating job profitability, holding the whole team accountable for job performance

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, Rebecca!

  ### 20. Good, robust software but difficult to learn.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

We use Function Point for our ad agency and it is very robust software that encompasses many critical functions that we need to operate efficiently. Our most used feature is the estimate/invoicing functionality.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

It was really difficult to manipulate the software to do exactly what you needed. The time tracking, and task tracking functionality is not very good.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

It is a good tool but does not have many integrations. If you decide to use function point take the time to invest in the training 110% it will definitely help mitigate the learning curve.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are time tracking more efficiently and making sure that all of our job requests are in the system so that they can be assigned to our designers and delegated properly.

  ### 21. Function Point is ok for managing projects, but is missing key workflow capabilities.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like that you can manage clients, team members, project estimates, jobs, tasks and timesheets all in one place. You can manage multiple roles and upload relevant files pertaining to the client/account. Having everything pertaining to billing in one place is essential for an agency of our size so that the project manager can manage roles, account managers can create jobs/projects/tasks and individuals can manage their task lists and timesheets.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I dislike the ability to collaborate with team members in the task functionality. The tasks are not clearly tied to project timelines and are not visible to the entire team. There is also not the ability to discuss tasks, answer questions and bring in additional team members to a discussion. That discussion must take place in another place and is not tied to the tasks, so you must update them separately and try to keep everyone in the loop with outside resources.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

FP is helpful for managing projects, clients, estimates, team members and timesheets all in one place. However, there are better tools for creating project task lists, timelines and managing teams throughout projects.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to get visibility into the profitability of projects and when we are under or over our budgets since the estimates and timesheets live in the same place. We have also realized the benefit of being able to pull reports to understand how different departments contribute to the overall effort of any given project or client.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We'd love to see your workflow in FP and offer some pointers around how to streamline tasking for your team. You can reach us at heretohelp@functionpoint.com.

  ### 22. FP is a great tool that's always evolving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

It's intuitive, easy to navigate, and has a very robust scheduling, estimating and reporting software. I love the FP Library and the (almost) Monthly Webinars.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Two dislikes: 1) NO CTRL+Z and 2) zooming in and out in the Gantt View, the dependencies (link) become unresponsive which requires a refresh of t he page.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're tracking towards a goal where all roles have visibility from a productivity perspective. Our schedules are now more robust and useful. The Task To Do's is a good start, there's still some fine tuning to be done - it REALLY needs a 'Tags' dropdown function for further filtering of tasks.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi Jon, your feedback has been passed to the product team for consideration. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us!

  ### 23. Use FP for project manangement and organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like that the dashboard is customizable to each user's needs. FP makes it easy to track each team member's utilization and project completion rates. Creating estimates in FP is a complete breeze. I love that all past and present client's estimates are all housed in one place for quick and easy reference.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I think that the aesthetic of FP could improve. Overall, there is a bit of a dated look to FP - with the use of the dark grey and harsh lines. I like the customizable feature with the logo but would like to see more modern feel.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Using the free trial will give a great understanding of the depth of organization that FP could provide for your company. Make sure that you build enough time in for each of your associates to receive adequate training on before implementation. When continuing education is communicated to from rep to business make sure and communicate updates to your users.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems solved: organization of internal and client-related tasks. We are able to reference previous estimates made for a specific client - no matter who made them. This ensures that our pricing and contracts are consistent.

Benefits: Able to track hours for each project. Able to project hours needed on projects and understand how to better utilize associate's time.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> This is really great advice about implementing FP, Natalie! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  ### 24. Great for Project and Time Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point is fairly simple to learn how to use and works well once you are all set up. It did not take an extreme amount of time to get everyone set up and using the platform correctly, which was great. It really does help you stay organized when you have multiple tasks and projects to keep track of.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The only thing I would change about Function Point is that when you input time, it must be converted into tenths. We have charts that we use to convert, however it is just an additional step that would be nice to be deleted.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Function Point is great for agencies or companies that manage multiple client projects. I definitely recommend using it for general organization purposes as well. It's a very helpful product.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management, organization, time management, client organization, information regarding clients (such as logins for an account) all in centralized location.

  ### 25. Used mostly for time keeping and job set up

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I think FP is an easy way to track time and works well for the accounting team who sets up the jobs and uses it from more of a billing perspective. We know we're not using it to the degree we could be and I've sat in a few webinars that were interesting but not enough to buy in from our larger team.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I know it's also a project management tool but seems complex and less intuitive than other PM tools I've used. I wish we knew how to integrate with our other systems and from what I've heard it's an expensive tool for what we are currently using it for. If there are ways to integrate with our other tools and show the value with using function point we could get other team members to use more oftern.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving job set up, budget tracking and time tracking. Few benefits as we haven't found a way to integrate it with our other systems.

  ### 26. Function Point is a huge time saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

The best part about Function Point is that our entire team can access everybody's tasks and deadlines in one place. We are able to see how busy other team members are and add tasks to their schedule when needed. I love having all of my deadlines outlined for myself and my supervisor.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The training is very time intensive. Our team scheduled multiple training sessions to ensure that each user knew how to properly use the system because not every function is self-explanatory.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Stay in contact with your rep and utilize their time. We have learned about functions that we had no idea existed months into using the product.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since utilizing the tasks and schedules, our team has a better understanding of how busy each person is currently and how busy they will be in the coming months.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

  ### 27. User-friendly, efficient, easy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victoria F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I really appreciate that I can assign tasks to team members and be assigned tasks and then actually log my time to those tasks right there. It's so convenient!

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I'm not a fan of the work planning view, I wish it went more than a month out and was a little more visible.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

It's a great tool for project management across multiple departments and clients. Very useful!

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to more efficiently see everybody's hour utilization and adjust work flow in turn.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback with us, Victoria!

  ### 28. Good time tracking/client management system

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenni D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Very good system for job number creation, timesheet tracking, and invoice management. It's easy to see all client details at a glance and track hours against jobs, as well as keep track of invoices pending and paid.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

It's not great for project management. We do use it for this function, by sending Tasks to various team members, and it gets the job done, but it doesn't feel like project management is its primary functionality.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to easily scope and estimate projects, track employee time, and create and track invoices. It gives all of our account managers visibility to any client in the agency, making it easy for people to cover for each other, if needed.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Jenni!

  ### 29. It's really good at keeping track of the things I always forget to.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon B. | Visual Communications Officer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

- Instant updates across all aspects of the job when new input is entered.
- the ability to enter numerous different types of information in relation to the specific job. Eg. once the job is created, all the details are there for future reference for the tasked designer. Virtually hands off after that initial input.
-

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

- sometimes 'clunky' navigation, especially trying to go back one step and having the previous page not how you left it.
- no automated warnings when getting close to quoted hours

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

It's super easy to use and to keep track of the things you forget to!

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of hours quoted, hours worked, money spent, money invoiced.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Simon -- thanks for sharing your feedback with us. If you ever have other suggestions to share, we'd love to hear it: functionpoint.ideas.aha.io

  ### 30. Great agency tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point is very easy to use. I am new to the agency world and I picked up this tool within a week for billing time and creating jobs per company.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

There are a lot of dropdowns. I feel like this can be minimized and categorize under each job. Being new to the system, it's hard to remember what each drop down is used for per reporting for each client. I know this will get easier the more I use it but for now, there is a lot of going back to my notes.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Great tool for agencies or freelancers who bill by the hour and need a tool to organize their projects based on multiple organizations.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Billing is the main function we use it for. The creative team uses the timeclock and can see how that can be very beneficial to them. I personally use the weekly view and makes it very clear to track my time per day.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us!

  ### 31. Good program

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennie J. | Art Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like working with the tasks/to do section best.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Because of my minimal involvement with Function Point, and that I mostly use it for billing my time for clients, I do not have any dislikes. Maybe notifications for pinned notes could be better. I realize many people on my team use notes but I always forget that they are there.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

The tasks make it easier to bill time with the auto-fill feature.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use function point to log my billable time for my clients.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Jennie -- thanks for taking the time to leave us your thoughts!

  ### 32. Function Point Fan

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

The ability for me to interact with my team and keep track of project progress.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Not being able to see draft tasks on the work planning view.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning projects based on utilization, timesheet tracking, and tracking project progress are problems we have solved as well as benefits.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi Natalie, thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

  ### 33. Life is good on the cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carrie Hill L. | Account Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

We moved to FP about a year ago and for us, access and organization of info were our key needs. FP delivers both with flying colors.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

It can feel a bit cumbersome to have to move into edit mode every time something needs to be updated and then save, but I understand this just comes with the territory of a cloud based program. A working save button would be much appreciated.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

The staff at FP is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, the contacts we've had there have definitely been an asset. Connect with a real person there

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to be able to access our info from anywhere and now we can literally work from our phones if need be. We have also reduced our accounts workload by at least half in integrating our pm software with Quickbooks Online. YAY.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for your kind words, Carrie!

  ### 34. Function Point is very user friendly and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophia A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I really like how easy it is to use Function Point. It is very user friendly and helps keep all my jobs organized.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I don't like how when you click back space your note erases and you have to start over.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it at our agency as our platform to keep all jobs in one place. It makes the process so much easier.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi Sophia, thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

  ### 35. More simple, less cluttered than competition

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I used FP for timekeeping. What I liked about Function Point was that the layout was more intuitive and user friendly than competitors. My company recently switched to another timekeeping software, which unfortunately I feel is more cluttered and came with a learning curve, which allows for much less mistakes than FP offered.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Function Point could have used a little more polishing in terms of extra features. I found navigating through search results was very cumbersome, often times only displaying half of the results without any way to reveal the other half.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

The grass is always greener, however sometimes the simplest solution is the best.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since my office switched to another time keeping solution, I realize that FP was very user friendly and gave me everything I needed, and for the most part nothing I didn't need.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for sharing your experience of FP with us. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help -- we're always ready to listen!

  ### 36. Solid agency management tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis W. | General Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

It works as advertised, in the vast majority of business cases it handles what we need it to do well, and is flexible enough that we can tailor it to our particular niche. We've been able to build a really effective new-business cycle with it too.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

We put a lot of time and effort into building custom engagements with our clients, often trying to match how we bill to their needs or project structure. There's some situations where we have to use clunky workarounds to make it work - for example a monthly retainer with a budget cap (i.e., max 20hr/month for a year) that resets every month is a pain to set up.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Evaluate your current business processes and make sure that you test out actual scenarios. Workarounds may not be a deal-breaker, but if you have do them constantly you may be better finding a software that fits your working model.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to manage our new business, solicitation, and cultivation cycles, client billing and project budgeting. It's really straightforward to use, and we've increased our net sales by about 20% last year because of it.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, Travis!

  ### 37. Lots of functions, slightly overwhelming at first but very useful.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh B. | Director Of Photography, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

The visual elements including utilization graphs and schedules.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Lots of notifications that I can't turn off because of my privileges.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working to become maximally utilized and preventing over scheduling.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi Josh, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

  ### 38. Easy to use for a small business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Loraine F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point is a very intuitive and easy-to-navigate program.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I currently can't think of anything I dislike about this software. We don't use some of the functions offered, but it doesn't hinder our productivity.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track our time, create expenses/purchase orders, create invoices, open new jobs, run reports... all very easily. All of our employees are comfortable using the program based on their respective permission sets because it's a fairly intuitive program. And even if we don't know how to do something at the moment, the support documents available usually gives us the answers we need. Also, we enjoy the fact that we can access it anywhere. Our previous accounting software did not allow us to do that. We had to be on site to do any of the things we can do with Function Point. And last but not least, the help desk responds very quickly when I submit an error or bug or question.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks so much for your kind words, Loraine. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

  ### 39. Overall positive but with some UX/UI issues

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I love that everything is in one place and for the most part is relatively intuitive to use. It's made estimating, invoicing, and analysis of jobs quick and easy and allowed me to delegate these things out to others and conversely allowed team members in finance and leadership to access the information that they need without me being the bottleneck.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Again, my main complaint is in the UX/UI of the system. In many cases it seems as though each section has been developed and updated a bit in a vacuum rather than thinking through the full system and the result is that it suffers from a bit of featuritis and inconsistency. There are also simple things that could fixed in the UX that would make the experience more seamless. For example, why do I have to "submit services" before I can edit the info on an estimate and why does the option to "submit services" only come up when I hit the button to edit the info, rather than being on the services tab? Why when I delete an estimate does it not simply take me back to the project or client screen? Why can't I copy an project? Why does the search function require you to pick from client, project, etc rather than being able to search the whole site? These sorts of things.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use this to provide consistency and efficiency when quoting projects, as well as to track time on jobs. We have not yet used it for project management as much. The best thing is now that we have most types of projects entered in, it is super quick and easy to copy estimates and the time it takes to quote has been dramatically reduced.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Bryan -- thanks for sharing your feedback with us. Your suggestions have been passed on to our Product team for consideration. We appreciate you letting us know how we can make FP better for you and your team!

  ### 40. Function Point has helped our business stay organized and on top of changing schedules.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellen M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

We like the ability to easily manage time sheets.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Our least favorite benefit is the number of steps it takes to create a new job.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are better managing our time, budgeting time estimates, and creating invoices.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi Ellen -- thanks for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear FP is helping your team manage time, budgeting and invoicing!

  ### 41. Strong Operational Tool for Marketing & Creative Services Firms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James T. | Executive Director, Marketing & Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

We were searching for a solution that provided full integration from proposal creation through execution through time-tracking and billing -- this was our choice as of 2011 and we've continued to grow and develop along with the platform. They've come a long way,so have we. Best features are:
● Robust Services feature - pro, does a lot of what we require
● Schedule Templates - provide standardized building blocks for scoping & estimating
● Time Tracking - several options for time tracking to address individual user preferences
● Forecasting - good visibility to future demand by hours/service group/revenue

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Inherent with any software are the "nuances" that make you question the rationale for why things are set-up the way they are. The primary ones for our team are:
● Robust Service Features - high administration requirement - the learning curve is real
● Too many clicks for some functions - general U/X could continue to improve

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

FP is a powerful tool but like all ERP's requires an investment of training and development as well as continuous on-going administration - you want to be sure the trade-off for admin/management is worth the exchange. I would suggest determining your specific set of needs based on your organization size and requirements -- it's like buying a car, the features are nice - but do you need the air-conditioned seats?

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the following:
● Forecasting - visibility to future demand
● Resource Planning - scheduling and management of teams and roles
● Efficiency - a solid tool for identifying opportunities for efficiency gains

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for your feedback, James. We appreciate you taking the time to share it with us!

  ### 42. The key to success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa M. | Owner, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

A complete project and business management system that gives my small company the tools needed to estimate, schedule, track and manage projects, employees, freelancers, and vendors. At a single glance, I can determine the status for every job, what each person is working on, costs verses estimates. Most importantly, I am able to easily determine when a project will be out of scope and address this with the client BEFORE hand, rather than after the fact.

It also provides a historical reference for estimating and scheduling new projects, or information about a client job we did 5 years ago.

With Function Point, we can handle more projects that other sized firms.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I cannot think of any key dislike. More differentiation of items on the calendar would be helpful, that is a minor thing

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Training is the key. Spend the time to learn about the system and it's features. It is easy to customize for how to run your business. I would also train your staff beyond just simple usage. My team has had excellent recommendations about how to improve our work flow and communication by knowing more about FPs capabilities

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They key issue solved was knowing exactly where every day we are on project costs. If you have 3-4 people working on a project, you can burn through a lot of time quickly. Seeing where you are each day helps to keep on budget and on schedule.

Our buyouts are easily tracked in FP and exported to QuickBooks by our bookkeeper.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks so much for your kind words, Lisa. We appreciate you taking the time to share your insights!

  ### 43. It works for what I need it for.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Being able to customize my dashboard. It allows be to organize myself as I see fit.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Sometimes it's a little glitchy, causing issues between our team.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spec'ing job estimates properly, efficiency and time management. When time is entered properly, we've been able to change our processes and job estimates to reflect actual time spent which allows us to effectively charge our clients and sure-up time management issues.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad FP is working well for you!

  ### 44. An Okay Project Management Solution

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point has dozens of useful features, but I would say I like the ability to quickly add time to any of my tasks in the Weekly Timesheet overview.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The user interface is a more bland version of an Excel spreadsheet. FP looks colorful on the outside, but it's black and gray on the inside with thin lines, small text, and lots of sharp corners.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Do your research before committing. Think about what programs your teams use and if they can be automatically integrated into the Project Management software you're thinking about using. The only thing I do in Function Point is track time and check alerts.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Function Point allows my team to quickly add tasks, projects, track time, and keep an eye on the workload of each of our team members.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Hi there -- thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We're sorry you're frustrated with the user interface of FP. We'd be more than happy to help you determine if there are ways to optimize your use of FP. You can always drop us a line at heretohelp@functionpoint.com

  ### 45. Function Point Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elisa M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like that I can customize my dashboard to exactly what I want it to be. If I want to focus on my tasks, I can.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

All of the messages and alerts, feel like they are unneeded.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

The design and user experience could be improved. Easier to read and better navigation.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes hard to find past projects.

  ### 46. FP Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

ease of job search, weekly view and time entry in that view

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

The transfer from tasks to weekly view is wonky /

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Good tool for time entry, data grabbing, scoping, decent for project management

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

collecting historical data on jobs so we can bid them properly

  ### 47. Helpful, but there is a learning curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

- Forces you to create an estimate before the job
- Multiple ways to search for information
- Information auto populates
- Timesheets are easy to use, and there are different ways to track time
- Dashboard options and ability to create multiple views

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

- Resourcing/task management is not editable in the "Work Planning View". It would be very helpful to edit everything in one view
- The Work Calendar allows you to input time off, but no easy way to track available vacation/sick days per staff member
- Schedules do not allow for edits to be made and cascade throughout the rest of the schedule, would be helpful if this worked both forwards and backwards
- There are too many roles/rates that can edited on different levels. Ex. Selecting services when creating a new estimate vs. adding a service with the + button when in an estimate

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking project budgets against burn, and tracking staff time to multiple projects. It has been a huge benefit to see what each staff member is working on, and the amount of time it takes to complete.
It is also very helpful to organize project budgets/estimates and timelines all in one place.

  ### 48. Very easy to use and informative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

The billable section that lets me know how much time I have spent that has generated money for my company

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

Unaware of all the ways the software is useful

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How billable we need to be each week!

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks for your feedback!

  ### 49. Software we use daily that keeps on improving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

Function Point's Quickbooks Integration is one of the main reasons we chose to go with Function Point. It has been very helpful for our client services and accounting teams when exporting and sending invoices. Although it's not perfect, Function Point's integration with our accounting software makes our invoice delivery system much easier.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

We are not aware of other integrations that Function Point offers for other software systems that we use, such as Slack, Google Calendar, Grow, Fathom, DocuSign/Adobe Sign, etc. Also, the reporting feature is under-utilized by our users because some reports require a program that can read XML files. Upgrading and adding new features would make FP even better, and because we've seen the software evolve, we wouldn't be surprised if new features are already in the works.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

Compared to other software systems we've demo-ed, Function Point has been the most user-friendly and isn't as pricey as others. From our experience, it's SO difficult to determine if a system will work for your company from just a demo or trial. So for those considering Function Point, I think the only way you'd truly know is to dive in and use it for a year. Don't be afraid to ask the support team for help along the way. Lastly, remember that no system is perfect, so you'll always have to compromise regardless of what software system you decide to go with.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The business problems that Function Point solves for us is the ability to keep track of our professional services in one place. We've realized many benefits over the last year, such as seeing Function Point constantly improving the platform, giving users multiple opportunities to learn and interact through regular webinars, and having a fast and responsive support team.

  ### 50. Function Point Rocks!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer F. | President, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Function Point?**

I like the ease of use of FP and the clean UI. I love the way you can sort information by multiple columns at the same time which brings Excel-like functionality into the tool. I like the resource calendar so you can see availability at a glance. Overall, it brings several of our key needs into one, centralized place which is great.

**What do you dislike about Function Point?**

I think the reporting in FP could use a little more love. I would like to see a bit more fluidity and flexibility in the reporting section of the tool. We have to export information and do reports in excel or pull data into SF for more comprehensive reporting which is time consuming. We would love an interactive project timeline that we can put notes on and share with clients without them having access to other parts of the project. We also do all of our billing out of FP and sync it with QB which is great. We would like to be able to close out a completed service as a phase of a project has been completed as that would make billing easier.

**Recommendations to others considering Function Point:**

I think Function Point is a solid product for Project and Task management for a services based company. It is competitively priced and has a clean, easy-to-use interface. I would absolutely consider Function Point when looking at new project management solutions for a mid-sized agency.

**What problems is Function Point solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage live projects in FP and it works pretty well. We sync with QB for monthly billing which has been a huge time saver for us. I think there are still a few aspects of the tool that we need to start fulling using to realize the full benefits of the product.

**Official Response from Levi Wilson:**

> Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us, Jennifer. Please continue to reach out with your feedback - we're always ready to listen for how we can make Function Point better!
