On the employee side, the overtime tracking isn't the most intuitive to navigate as we get so many questions to this day about it. We've also noticed that overtime calculations don't come out correctly when there is a statutory holidays on that week, which requires manual correction on our end. I think giving all of the information right up front to us instead of doing it in sections would be better, just giving us all of the info and then allowing us to work at our own pace. It was reasonably easy to set up, but it does take a while to get your head around how the actual system functions on the back end, so you set it up right. I love the ease of navigation of Folks HR, which has been improved in recent years. It's really convenient for searching for individual employees and extracting employee data reports. I also appreciate being able to gather all the records and extract reports, which works really well for us. Among other things, it helps to keep written records for disciplinary files and manager approvals. Initially, we wanted to use Folks HR thinking it would be a tool that would allow us to submit timesheets and transmit them to payroll. But the connection with the payroll system is not very complete, so we abandoned that function. We thought it would allow employees to access their vacation banks as well, but since vacations were only available in hours (and not in dollars), and the connection to payroll was not bidirectional, discrepancies always arose with the Folks records and the estimated hours had to be manually handled and calculated, then regularly adjusted. Therefore, we abandoned this function and finally asked employees to connect directly to the payroll system to get the accurate time -- which we thought it would avoid for us. We also thought of using it as an ATS, but in the end, it was not very complete when we made the decision, 4 years ago, and we chose another ATS in parallel. We also believed that the signature function would help keep everything in one place, but in the end, it didn't work easily, so we use another tool for signatures.
