**What do you like best about Firstup?**

I really like the front end of Firstup; it looks very good and is completely branded with our company's colors, logo, and everything, which makes it feel like it was purely created for the purpose of our company. This gives a very positive user perspective. It helps us reach our audience easily on mobile phones, which is the most effective way since not everybody in our company has email but everyone has the app, allowing easy access. This setup plays a part in unifying our employees globally, just like uniforms, giving a feel of belonging. I also appreciate the flexibility Firstup offers, allowing us to have global, regional, and local content, which is very important for a big company like ours.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I find the backend a bit challenging. As an editor or administrator, it required me a couple of sessions to get the hang of it. It could be more user-intuitive; perhaps it could be more self-explanatory or easier to understand in a short time, like 30 minutes. Instead, it took me around three different one-hour sessions. There are just too many options for selections, like email, yes/no, push, yes/no, groups, and so on. It's just somehow too much.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firstup helps us reach our audience easily via mobile phones. Not everyone at our company uses email, but everyone has the app, making it interactive and accessible.

I find Firstup easy to use and it provides detailed analytics. It's straightforward to build robust and appealing content through a variety of block types. The initial setup was fairly easy, and we received good support from the Firstup team.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

The analytics could be improved with more detailed information about user behaviors and trends. There could also be a little more customization and options with all the different block types.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firstup solves audience building based on HR data and sending targeted communications. It's easy to use, offers detailed analytics, and enables building robust content with a variety of block types.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

I have enjoyed using FirstUp because of its variety of options for creating and publishing content. All of its unique capabilities have allowed me and my team to think outside the box when developing campaign ideas to engage CHRISTUS Health Associates. The platform is user-friendly and allows for a nearly seamless experience from creation to consumption of content.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

There are no major setbacks when it comes to using the FirstUp platform, but my team wishes the platform had a few capabilities. We wish we had the option to pin featured posts for specific topics and for featured posts to only be shown to those who are subscribed to the topic, even if the topic is open to everyone. We wish to have the direct delivery option for a push notification to cellular devices that is not tied to the "notification center."

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firstup allows us to target communications to specific groups within our large organization and see detailed metrics on how well our communications are reaching those groups. We can use those metrics to evaluate and improve our communications plans for different initiatives and campaigns. The platform allows us to reach Frontline Associates who are not "deskbound" through the branded app. The platform allows us to train individuals across the system on how to create campaigns through studio and give them differing levels of access depending on what the need is.

Nothing has changed- still love the company and the service it provides.

Nothing at the moment- love using them for their service. Easy to use.

We are building brand awareness and using our employees as advocates to promote the work that not only they are working on but that the company as a whole has achieved.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

Ease of creating and publishing content and relatively simple to tailor layout to your liking, availability of help resources, helpdesk is very responsive and knowledgeable. Photo comments are a hit!

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I wish there were more branding options available. In Studio when working on a campaign, it is tedious to have to keep manually inputting hex codes when you are only given two options. We have a pretty robust brand color palette. I also wish there was an option to pin a post, add a banner, or add a ticker at the top of the main experience/homepage. This would be really handy during Open Enrollment in particular. It would also be helpful if creators could edit content directly within Experience, without having to go into Studio, click this and that, save, and publish. Being able to edit individual blocks/items directly from Experience would save a great deal of time. Also, we've noticed a copy/paste issue where text ends up bolded or in a completely different font style (like Arial Black instead of Arial). I think this is a known issue, though, and requires the user to click "Paste text only." Also, when manually adding audiences, sometimes we get users with a "0" next to their name instead of "1," showing they are an active, registered user. This makes creating custom audiences problematic, as we have to go through and manually confirm our lists, which, when uploading audiences of 100+ users, can be extremely time-consuming. It would also be nice to actually be able to view an embedded video within an email without being taken out of email and into Experience - it disrupts the flow of the user experience. We also have not been very satisfied with the level of turnover. It seems once we get used to one CSM, we get another, and another! (And one of our more recent support teams completely vanished on us at one point.) Finally, I wish pulling metrics wasn't such a hassle and that it was easier to find and compare data.

Employee engagement - contributing to building a culture of inclusion and belonging. It is also helpful to give our leaders a voice and provide leadership visibility and transparency to employees.

It brings together email, mobile, intranet, and digital signage into one platform, making it easier to reach employees wherever they are—especially important for deskless or frontline workers. You can tailor messages based on role, location, or behavior, which helps ensure relevance and boosts engagement.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

While Firstup is a powerful platform, one area I find challenging is the limited flexibility in customizing certain design elements and layouts. It can sometimes feel restrictive when trying to create more dynamic or visually engaging content. Additionally, the learning curve for some of the analytics features can be steep, especially for newer users who aren’t as data-savvy. More intuitive dashboards or guided insights would be a great improvement.

Firstup is solving the challenge of reaching and engaging a diverse, distributed workforce with consistent, personalized messaging. It eliminates communication silos by centralizing content delivery across channels like email, mobile, and intranet. For me, this means less time spent juggling tools and more time focusing on strategy. The platform’s targeting and automation features help ensure the right messages reach the right people at the right time—boosting engagement and making our internal communications more impactful.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

It actually works for everyone. From employees in a factory to field techs working miles from the nearest office, Our Field gives everyone a voice. It’s quick to use, easy to access on the go, and doesn’t assume you’re sitting behind a desk all day. The simple translation option means we can reach our Global employee base very easily across all platforms and devices with easy to set up apps and integration into other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

One of the challenges has been making sure everyone gets on board. With such a wide variety of roles across AGCO, from the factory floor to those in the field, and everything in between, not everyone naturally turns to a digital comms platform as part of their day.

Its a great problem to have but sometimes we just have TOO MUCH content across the platform and some employees switch off

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of our employees aren’t sitting at desks all day.  They’re on the factory floor, out in the field with customers, in warehouses, or visiting dealerships. Reaching everyone with consistent, timely information was a challenge. Important messages weren’t always landing where they needed to and there was a total overload of emails. 

Our Field/Firstup has changed that.

People now get the same message at the same time and they can interact with it too.

This has led to a benefit of better engagement, stronger communications and more 'connected' feeling around the business.

Using Firstup has completely transformed the way we communicate with our team. It’s intuitive, efficient, and ensures every employee stays informed and engaged—no matter their role or location!

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

What I find most frustrating about Firstup recently are the recurring glitches in Studio. These issues have made it difficult and time-consuming for our team to access analytics, often dragging on for days. The frequency and duration of these glitches have become a real challenge.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firstup is helping us solve the challenge of reaching a large audience effectively through a newsletter format. It allows us to curate content thoughtfully and design engaging, visually appealing updates that the entire company can easily see, share, and interact with. This has made internal communication more seamless, consistent, and even enjoyable—turning what used to be a complex task into a smooth, creative process.

Firstup allows us to easily communicate with desked and non-desked employees with ease via email, app, and intranet.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

Firstup identifies whether an employee should receive a communication via email or the app. They recently changed the app notification options to make it less likely to send a push notification and more like to just put a notification within the app. I don’t think as many employees engage with the notifications now.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our workforce is split between desked employees who check email and production employees who do not have email. Firstup allows us to communicate directly with both audiences and a personalized and efficient way.

I would say the same, plus the addition of new reporting functionality and AI are incredibly helpful for our needs. 

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

We are still having some issues with the search function on our internal site. However, the search function via the studio side has been great. 

I also think the creation of custom distribution lists could be more intuitive - I've had a few teammates find it complicated and confusing to manage when they have lists that are constantly fluctuating.

Connecting with employees in over 70 different countries and sharing company information easily and effectively.

The customer service is great, but the product pipeline has not changed to account for updates that our business needed e.g. dynamic personalization, etc

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

 It would be great if FirstUp could also offer personalization to serve up personalized posts that might appeal to them, versus us having to provide that manually.  It would be great if FirstUp could integrate with an AI messaging company and suggest messaging when a link is added to be shared, so a variety of messaging is presented.

We have spent more time recently utilizing the stories across our sister companies, and Firstup allows for them to remain as the author but also makes it very easy to have comprehensive storytelling across the opcos 

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

If there could be more of an admin/reporting level that isn't a content creator. I supervise someone who is responsible for content creation, but I wasn't able to easily look on the back end their metrics without having full access. Otherwise, it is still the right tool and I highly recommend it

Firstup enables us to reach our employees passively and actively, and allows them to submit stories as well.  The two way communication is so meaningful to connect our employees across shifts and geography

FirstUp just introduced Journeys, which allows administrators to automate messaging to tailor fit the employment experience for individuals.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I would like the ability to pin critical messages, and I would like employees to be able to share some of their Journeys posts to outside social media, such as birthdays and employment anniversary messages.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FirstUp solves the problem of issuing timely information without having to wait on the scedule of a weekly printed newsletter. This lets us reach employees with critical information quickly.

Translated video captions is important functionality we asked for and has now been introduced - thank you!

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

The publishing experience for user-generated content can be improved, especially image editing; introducing name tagging in post content is essential (it can be done in comments, so why not elsewhere?); and FirstUp is missing a trick by not seriously considering employee recognition features/functionality (e.g. e-card to employee that also notifies their manager) as another integrated offering that would allow companies to retire or consolidate other employee tools that provide this.

Alignment with the company's strategic priorities - employees now have one single platform for engaging in company news and information and with other colleagues
Diversity, equity and inclusion - more employees are able to connect with the company and each other thanks to the mobile app/experience, which enhances inclusion and belonging

FirstUp is an excellent tool for internal comms platform - it's easy to use, easy to implement and has a great number of features. It has been seamless to integrate into our existing workflows.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

The fact that I can't create custom blocks - so PDFs for example have to be in a long line and i would rather they were in small chunks.

We needed a way to contact all of our employees at once across multiple continents and in different languages.

Awesome technology and great tool for engaging and connecting with workers across all levels of the organization

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

Tool is overpowered for a company that isn't fully resourced to activate FirstUp's potential. I also found that the renewals team was fairly pushy.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FirstUp is our central tool for all things employee communications across our US population (we did not launch globally). With this, we leveraged FirstUp for employee email, intranet, and digital signs across facilities.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

As part of a small team, it's crucial to provide timely, accurate, and engaging communications to our associates. Firstup makes it so easy to build meaningful content in an efficient manner. I also love the two-way communication capabilities! We are able to hear from our front-line workers, receive feedback, and create a welcoming and inclusive culture for all!

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I would like to see more creative capabilities, like different ways to incorporate images and graphics! But I'm sure there is still so much to learn and I am excited to explore opportunities within the platform.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach a wide variety of associates, anywhere from desk workers at our headquarters to cashiers and asset protection. Associates don't need a company device to stay in touch and engaged with company news! It's also very easy to duplicate and mass produce communications that target different audiences!

FirstUp is solving the "we have to wait for the weekly newsletter" to share info, or inundating associates with countless emails that might go unread

The email builder is simple and easy to use. I like that people can subscribe to and unsubscribe from different channels/topics.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I would like more functionality out of an intranet. We want a one-stop-shop for news, company information, collaboration, file storage, etc. We also want more sophisticated features from an email solution, including data cleansing, preference center, dynamic content (using contact fields to display personalized content to a user based on preferred language, region, function, etc.). As much as we wish it were different, our company is very reliant on email, so having more capabilities within the email tool would be so helpful.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social outlet for employees which is nice due to the size of our remote workforce. The email tool is heavily used to target communications.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

Good concept to unify email, online posting and push notifications from a single tool. Also great integration with our company's data. The WSYWIG design editor is great. Team has been pretty responsive to our requests to either add features or do custom things for our company. 

Also LOVE the content microapps - which allow syndication of stories in multiple embedded scrollers/listings in our SharePoint/intranet. 

Building and maintaining dynamic lists of employees based on every possible criteria is both incredibly flexible and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

Some basic UI/UX design things are missing or don't seem to have been tested or well thought-out. The building block templates available are pretty basic and could use a refresh. Their analytics reporting doesn't seem that well thought-out either.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to design a pretty thing and get it out to staff via numerous platforms. Their ability to build custom groups using our own HR data/fields has been a LIFEsaver. Our organization does not provide dynamic lists within Outlook, so FirstUp has become our go-to tool for making sure our comms get out to all the right people. Otherwise we are stuck in a cascading nightmare.

There are so many ways to slice and dice information for employees based on the channel and audience we want to reach. I manage 5 newsletters via Studio, and it cutting that time down to 30 minutes to pull my content instead of half a day is a game-changer.

Sometimes the formatting isn't agreeable in an article when I copy and paste from Word (web version). A little frustrating to rework in Studio.

Firstup is really very user-friendly platform for creating content. They also have made some great updates in the last few years that make setting up content and sending it out so much easier. The backend of the platform is really great and easy to navigate and use.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

I don't think the front end is the most user-friendly and doesn't do an excellent job of serving up content to our company. If your content is not "featured" (and everything can not be marked as "featured"), the chances of getting it seen by employees is slim to none. There is great potential in assisting with the navigation and deployment of the Firstup front end.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a one-stop shop for communicating with our employees. It also integrates with our HRIS so it's easy to manage contacts without the need for a third party platform or to pull distrubution lists and import them. It also allows us to have an intranet, send newsletters, provide social networking opportunities...it truly does pull a lot of our communications into one place.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

The translation feature is pivotal for our employee base! Our Account Rep answers all of our questions and always has great content for our meetings. We use this platform every single day for our communications group. I like how you can push articles to "groups" rather than send out emails, and vice versa.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

There's still a lot of quirks that would require updates to be absolute perfection. 
For example, you must have a formula to have to create new static audiences (this is weird - why can't we just copy/paste?)
Drafts don't always save correctly. If 2+ admins are working on the same article - you can't tell. Meaning, half of their updates get saved, and yours may not get saved, at all.
Luckily, I believe this quirks can be resolved.

FirstUp allows us to connect with our employees across the country, including those that speak different languages. It offers our team a fairly simple way to put together newsletters and emails that look high quality. FirstUp allows our employees to share their experiences with one another, creating a better sense of community.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

There are so many pros to Firstup, including the robust metrics we have available to us and the capabilities of New Studio for creating beautiful posts. I also spend a lot of time in the audience builder, and it is very user friendly. I love that the lists we create are dynamic as there is lots of movement within our organization. I also love that it is a two-way communication channel - our users can leave comments and create posts of their own.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

There are some bugs that need to be fixed. Known issues sometimes will stay known issues for a very long time before being resolved. It also seems like there have been lots of platform degradations lately, which can be frustrating.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two-way communication - we never had this capability before with our Intranet.
Metrics - we are able to track so many things, which helps us improve our content. It's especially helpful to see who received emails - we often hear about users not receiving an email only to find out it was delivered to them.
Audience builder - we are able to create lists that are much more accurate than our Outlook distribution lists.
New Studio - it's very user friendly, so our topic managers are able to create beautiful campaigns. We also love the poll feature - it's a great way to get feedback.

As a new member of our team, I'm still getting familiar with First Up, but I've already found it highly efficient for sharing company-wide communications. The platform makes creating engaging content, like posts and emails, straightforward. I appreciate how it connects team members scattered across our company's many locations. The interactive features, such as comments and user posts, give the platform a collaborative feeling, making internal communication feel more communal.

Some features, like pinning posts or setting expiration dates, aren’t immediately intuitive and can take a little more time to figure out. Also took me alittle while to figure out how to correctly set an audience type.

Firstup is a powerful platform for business communicators that can be used as a hosted intranet solution, or for traditional email comms as well as a more innovative component-centric posting strategy. Their content editing studio is what you would expect from a world-class comms tool with many options for placing all standard media types in pre-designed content blocks with drag n' drop ease. They also provide a strong mobile app and features for feeding content into external intranets in support of a create once, publish everywhere strategy. The tool includes an easy-to-use audience group builder to make the most of the employee data and HR attributes that you can uplod to the system on a daily basis. Both their technical support and account management teams are very responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

Does not currently support Active Directory integration or a way to use existing Outlook distribution lists. Does not provide OOTB integrations with any top tier digital asset management (DAM) products.

A consistent means of guiding a growing number of content publishers wanting to create and publish professional, branded newsletters. The audience group builder allows us to target teammates in ways that might otherwise be difficult.

There can be frequent team changes as far as who you work with, and as a customer who was previously on the Dynamic platform there are a handful of features from that platform that we REALLY wish could be carried over and implemented in the Firstup platform.

The support teams at Firstup - from pre launch to implementation and beyond - have been key partners in our process. We launched to 32K global employees less than a year ago, which was a lot of work for our very small team. Firstup's responsiveness and eagerness to help us has been central to the platform's success. We love the ability the product has given us to be more targeted with our communications and to empower other communicators around the world to create their own  nicely designed and smartly delivered communications.

We can communicate almost anything to the right audience, at the right time, and reaching them where and when they engage most. it has increased our engagement of employees with business information and empowered an expanded communications team, reducing the amount of times we say "no" to sharing something and increasing the bandwidth of corporate communications.

Because our business uses the FirstUp platform as the front door to all business content, our desire for enhanced capabilities and features is always growing. FirstUp does a nice job of evolving at scale, but sometimes we are moving faster than the technology. Once they can better integrate FirstUp and Dynamic Signal, some of the inconveniences should be resolved.

I like that employees have the chance to customize their newsfeeds so they can determine what feels the most relevant and exciting to them.

I wish there was a way to select multiple audiences within a campaign and customize the notification settings per each audience. Our typical office employees prefer email, but most of our desk less employees benefit more from push notifications. In our experience, intelligent delivery does not do the best job of breaking up the notification channels accordingly.

**What do you like best about Firstup?**

FirstUp hosts monthly events for customers to gather and share lessons learned - A great relationship-building opportunity that extends far beyond the 60-minute session. I have lasting relationships from this. Most of the customer managers are excellent. From a technology perspective, the team is constantly thinking of ways to enhance user experience. They also respond to feedback and suggestions and incorporate them into future enhancements.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

Coming from a Microsoft-heavy organization, it takes time  and change management to guide employees - especially IT  team members - use the application. This is more a reflection of organizational priority than FirstUp, though,  and I can see how hard FirstUp works to make the application user friendly.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FirstUp provides the ability to measure - quantitatively - reach of messages and engagement from employees. The analytics are fantastic. It also assists in reaching employees who have limited access to computers since it is also available via mobile. Finally the built-in translation feature makes it invaluable for engaging employees in their language of preference.

The Firstup platform helps my team reduce our workload by creating one piece of content and sending it to multiple channels. I love that new updates are always coming out to keep the platform fresh and exciting for our associates. The two-way communication platform is something we haven't had in the past, allowing us to understand how our associates feel about our content. Our associates find it easy to use and can find what they need all in one stop. Not only is the platform innovative, but Firstup sends resources and webinars to help you along the process. These are very valuable to our team to meet other customers and bring back new exciting ideas.

**What do you dislike about Firstup?**

There are often outages or small bugs that cause you to have workarounds. This can delay your progress on a project when emails are delayed, the text box is finicky or something won't save. However, the support team is always helpful and quick to respond.

**What problems is Firstup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had too many channels and could never measure our work. Now we can send to multiple channels with a push of a button and use metrics to back up our work. Now we no longer have to send everything by email but can control what associates want to see by targeting.
