Evernote is my favourite productivity app. To be fair, I can't live without it. I use it 10 to 20 times a day. If you know how to use Evernote well, It can be your second brain. Evernote is not just a pace to share your notes, you can save images, files, and web pages to your Evernote. You can use Evernote as a cloud storage to save digital notes. Evernote free version is limited to only 60MB of space per month and you are only allowed to use only on 2 devices at a time. This is not really good for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like about Evernote is that it's so organized that you can separate dates and to-do lists. It easily reminds me of my future schedules and projects to do. It is free to use, and you may use it without upgrading with payment. It's just like a notepad but with menu tabs and different options for scheduling. I can recommend this to you for free. What I dislike about Evernote is why they ask users to upgrade for payment when we can use it for free without paying, so why upgrade? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I truly believe that Evernote owes its logo: It does help to build an elephant's memory, not only in terms of capacity but also regarding the limitless connections you can create and enrich, following your preferred classification rules. You can add as many tags, notebooks, and sub-notebooks as you can, not to mention the internal links bridging notes to each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The dramatic revamp of the desktop version a few years ago resulted in slowly loading notes, that might be as long as 2-3 seconds, they do weigh and frustrate in the long run. Despite the several updates since then, those flaws have become part of the user experience.
Apart from that, I didn't appreciate the plain presentation of the tags. In the legacy version, I used to give them color according to their nature (for example: notes related to business in orange, those associated with my reads in blue, etc.). Now, I struggle to find them, visually.
Yet another thing I deplore is that the program automatically picks the language of my operating system. For some reason, the latter is in French (I can't change it), I simply want to use and search Evernote's features in English.
When it comes to editing, I find it hard to navigate a long note. I wish there were anchor links we freely insert to create our table of contents and also jump from one section to another without having to search every time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've enjoyed using the Evernote free service for over 10 years to track all manner of notes across a couple of devices. The android app has been relatively easy to use and bug free up until 2023. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In Dec 2023, Evernote silently introduced a requirement that any user who has >50 notes now needs to subscribe to their paid service or you lose the ability to add new notes or new notebooks. While I still have access to existing notes, Evernote has effectively created a Ransom situation virtually overnight. I've used the app multiple times a week for over 10 years and am appalled that there was no warning or heads up leading up to this change. Furthermore, if a user doesn't have the paid version, Evernote has ramped up their ad campaign which now shoves a "limited time only" campaign down your throat 2-3x during each session.
If you wanted to shift your business model the least you could have done is provided a little heads up to help ease the transition to either paid, or a different service. I will forever associate "Evernote" with the words: cheap and classless.
**Evernote admins may attempt to do damange control and comment on my review, but I 100% assure you they did not notify users of the pending change. This should be standard practice; Google and Microsoft have no problem giving users months of advanced notice depending on the app or service involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Versatility. I use Evernote for basic elements like shopping lists or office supplies, and even to support technology projects. I use it to work online with research files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The new view. The current design of Evernote is very minimalist and I don't like it, it used to be bigger and more eye-catching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can connect all my devices with my notes and my email. So, if I use my laptop, iPad, or phone, I have all my notes, tasks, and reminders. I love it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be perfect if I could connect more than one email. I would like to have my work email and my personal email so I could have all my reminders and tasks in just one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Evernote is a handy app for taking notes. I like the notebook organization system and the use of tags. It makes it quick and easy to find your information. I have been using Evernote for a long time for note taking and knowledge-management. The app has a simple and clear interface and syncs quickly from all devices. I also like the Evernote app for Google chrome, which allows you to save pages from websites in an easy-to-read format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Evernote is a simple and convenient app for notes, but I was looking for a better solution to create a full-fledged external brain. To be able to store notes, information and manage projects. Also, Evernote took away the bargain plan I had previously and replaced it with a more expensive one. Also, on my macbook, the app was shutting down a lot. It looked like some sort of bug. Moreover, Evernote still hasn't implemented AI features for word processing. All of this was the reason I switched to Notion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That I can not easily save my notes in another format to protect against potential loss in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a saas solution that can be used across multiple devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their billing. I hadn't realised that I was being charged annually until this year when the amount doubled. They had been charging an expired credit card for the past 3 or so years and the account hadn't been accessed since 2017. They kindly refunded the charges for this year which was appreciated, but not for any other years. I get it - that's on me, but to continue charging an expired card exposes issues with their billing system that should be addressed. Because of this I can't recommend their solution to others. I feel like I'm only using a small portion of Evernote and I could be doing so much more, but I am just not sure where to begin. How do you use Evernote other than as a note-storing application? Any interesting additional uses?
