EVA by New Black - Unified Commerce Reviews & Product Details

EVA by New Black - Unified Commerce Platform for Global Retail EVA by New Black is a unified commerce platform purpose-built for mid-to-large retail organisations operating across multiple channels, countries, and formats. Unlike stitched-together point solutions, EVA is a single, API-first platform that natively combines Point of Sale (POS), Order Management (OMS), Inventory Management, Product Information Management (PIM), Promotions, and Loyalty, enabling retailers to run their entire commerce operation from one connected system. Modular by design, unified by architecture. The Problem EVA Solves Modern retail is complex. Customers move freely between physical stores, websites, apps, and social channels, and they expect a seamless experience at every touchpoint. Traditional retail technology stacks weren't built for this reality. They consist of disconnected systems: a legacy POS here, a third-party OMS there, a separate loyalty tool, and an e-commerce platform that barely talks to any of them. The result is data silos, inconsistent customer experiences, slow time-to-market, and IT teams spending more time integrating systems than innovating. EVA was built to solve this from the ground up. Rather than bolting together best-of-breed tools, EVA delivers a single, coherent platform where every module shares the same data model, the same customer record, the same inventory truth, and the same promotion engine. The result is a fundamentally simpler and more powerful way to run retail. Core Platform Capabilities Point of Sale (POS) EVA's POS is designed for the demands of modern retail: high transaction volumes, complex promotions, multi-tender payments, and the need to work flawlessly both online and offline. Built on a resilient architecture, the POS continues to function even without network connectivity, syncing automatically when the connection is restored. It supports a wide range of hardware peripherals, including receipt printers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, and customer-facing displays, and integrates natively with payment service providers across multiple regions. Because the POS shares a unified data layer with the rest of the platform, store associates always have access to real-time inventory, accurate customer data, and live promotion calculations, with no syncing required. Order Management System (OMS) EVA's OMS gives retailers complete visibility and control over the full order lifecycle, from basket creation through fulfilment, shipping, returns, and exchanges. It supports complex fulfilment scenarios including click & collect, ship-from-store, endless aisle, and split shipments across multiple locations. Retailers can configure sophisticated routing logic to determine which warehouse or store fulfils which order, optimising for cost, speed, or sustainability. The returns and exchange flows are fully integrated, allowing store staff and customer service teams to handle post-purchase interactions without switching systems. Inventory Management Real-time, accurate inventory is the backbone of unified commerce, and EVA treats it that way. The platform maintains a single inventory truth across all channels and locations: warehouses, stores, third-party logistics providers, and virtual stock positions. It supports stock reservations, transfers, replenishment, and cycle counting, all from within the same interface. Retailers can define complex allocation rules to ensure stock is assigned optimally across channels, and customers always see accurate availability, whether they're shopping online, in-store, or via a mobile app. Product Information Management (PIM) EVA's built-in PIM enables retailers to manage their entire product catalogue centrally and distribute it consistently across every channel. Product attributes, variants, media, localised descriptions, pricing, and assortments are all managed in one place. The PIM supports complex catalogue structures, from simple apparel with size and colour variants to highly configurable products with dozens of attributes, and enables retailers to tailor assortments per country, channel, or store format. Because the PIM is native to the platform, product data flows seamlessly into the POS, storefront, and OMS without the need for integration middleware. Promotions & Pricing EVA's promotion engine is one of the most flexible in the industry. Retailers can build virtually any promotion type, including percentage discounts, fixed price reductions, buy-X-get-Y offers, bundle deals, tiered pricing, loyalty-based rewards, and more, using a powerful rules-based configuration interface, without writing code. Promotions apply consistently across every channel: whether a customer is shopping online or in-store, they always receive the correct discount. Price lists can be segmented by customer group, geography, channel, or time window, giving retailers precise control over their pricing strategy. Loyalty & Customer Management EVA gives retailers a 360-degree view of their customers, including purchase history, loyalty points, preferences, segments, and marketing consent, all in a single unified record. The loyalty module supports points-based programmes, tiered memberships, reward vouchers, and targeted campaigns. Because customer data is shared across the entire platform, store associates can look up a customer's loyalty status at the POS, and the e-commerce storefront can personalise the experience based on in-store behaviour. EVA also supports marketing consent management in line with GDPR and other regional privacy regulations. Developer Platform & Integrations EVA is API-first by design. Every capability in the platform is exposed through a comprehensive REST API, enabling retailers and their technology partners to build custom integrations, extend platform functionality, and connect EVA to their broader technology ecosystem. The platform includes a native webhook and event bus infrastructure for real-time, event-driven integrations, and supports a growing library of pre-built connectors for common retail technology partners, including payment providers, logistics carriers, ERP systems, marketing platforms, and more. EVA also offers an SDK for building custom frontend experiences, giving retailers full flexibility over their customer-facing touchpoints without sacrificing the unified data layer underneath. Who Uses EVA? EVA is the platform of choice for mid-to-large retail organisations that operate at scale, typically with multiple store locations, cross-border operations, and omnichannel fulfilment requirements. Our customers span a wide range of retail verticals including fashion & apparel, footwear, sports & outdoor, home & living, consumer electronics, and specialty retail. They are typically organisations that have outgrown their legacy systems and are looking for a modern, scalable platform that can grow with their business, without the complexity and cost of integrating dozens of point solutions. EVA is particularly well-suited to retailers that: Operate stores and e-commerce simultaneously and need a single source of truth for inventory, pricing, and customer data Run complex promotions that need to apply consistently across every channel Have international operations and need to manage multiple currencies, tax regimes, and localisation requirements Want to move fast, launching new store formats, markets, or fulfilment models, without being held back by inflexible technology Are committed to delivering a genuinely seamless customer experience, not just a "good enough" multichannel approach Why EVA? True unification, not integration. Many platforms claim to be "unified" but are actually a collection of acquired products loosely connected via APIs. EVA was architected as a single platform from day one, which means shared data, shared logic, and shared infrastructure, not synchronisation jobs and inevitable inconsistencies. Scalability without compromise. EVA is built to handle the demands of enterprise retail: high transaction volumes, peak trading periods, global operations, and complex organisational structures. The platform scales horizontally and is deployed on modern cloud infrastructure, ensuring consistent performance even at peak. Faster time to value. Because EVA replaces multiple systems with one, retailers can dramatically simplify their technology landscape. Fewer integrations to build, fewer vendors to manage, fewer failure points to monitor. Implementation is structured and supported by an experienced professional services team, and the modular architecture means retailers can go live with the capabilities they need first and expand over time. A partner, not just a vendor. New Black operates as a genuine long-term partner to our customers. We invest heavily in product development based on customer feedback, maintain close relationships with our retail clients, and are deeply committed to their success. Our roadmap is shaped by real retail challenges, not by what's easiest to build. Built for the future of retail. Consumer behaviour is changing faster than ever. The retailers that will win are those with the operational agility to respond quickly, launching new fulfilment models, experimenting with new store formats, adapting promotions in real time. EVA gives retailers that agility, without the technical debt that holds most legacy implementations back. Getting Started EVA is available as a cloud-hosted SaaS platform with regional deployment options to meet data residency requirements. Implementation is supported by New Black's professional services team and a network of certified implementation partners.
