## ESET PROTECT Reviews
  ### 1. ESET PROTECT: Lightweight Security with High Standards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdelkrim K. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

I use ESET PROTECT to ensure our servers and computers are protected. I find it easy to use, which is important for everyday tasks. It offers a very high-security standard and has a good reputation among antivirus vendors. What I like most about ESET PROTECT is that it's light and very low on resource consumption. This keeps our systems running perfectly without slowing down, especially on our servers. It allows us to get the best out of our hardware without needing to invest in more expensive memory or new CPUs. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

I don't have much to complain about, but maybe if the loading splash screen could be removed, that would be nice. Also, the switch from the on-premise admin console to online gave me some work.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET PROTECT is easy to use, has very high security standards, and is lightweight, keeping systems running without slowing down our servers. It helps us maximize hardware efficiency without needing costly upgrades.

  ### 2. Centralized Endpoint Visibility and Strong Security in One Console

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin T. | IT System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

What I like best about ESET PROTECT is the centralized management console. It gives IT clear visibility of all endpoints, detections, policies, and security status in one place. It also makes it easier to manage devices remotely, apply policies, monitor issues, and respond quickly to threats. The added features like Vulnerability & Patch Management and Microsoft 365 protection are also very useful because they help strengthen overall security without needing multiple separate tools.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

What I dislike about ESET PROTECT is that some features can be a bit complex to configure at first, especially when setting up policies, exclusions, patch management, and server protection. The console has many options, so it can take time to understand where everything is located and how each setting affects the devices. Reporting and alerts are helpful, but they may need some fine-tuning to avoid too many notifications or unnecessary noise.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET PROTECT helps solve visibility, endpoint security, and vulnerability management issues by giving IT one central place to monitor devices, detections, policies, patches, and Microsoft 365 security. This benefits us by helping the IT team respond faster, reduce security risks, and manage protection more efficiently across the organization.

  ### 3. ESET PROTECT: Intuitive, Lightweight Security with Powerful AI Threat Detection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan P. | IT Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

I’ve been using ESET PROTECT to manage our remote and hybrid Windows 11 fleet for patching, updates, and security, and it’s been a real game-changer. The console is clean and easy to navigate—I can quickly see what’s happening across all devices, track incidents, and apply policies without any hassle. Overall, it feels intuitive and responsive.

It also integrates smoothly with our existing tools and setup, which made the rollout straightforward alongside our domain and RMM tools. From a performance standpoint, it’s impressively lightweight; our machines run just as fast as before, with no noticeable slowdowns even during scans or updates. That’s especially important for users working over RDP and VPN.

Pricing feels fair compared to other solutions we considered, and the ROI is obvious: it saves us time on manual work while still delivering solid patch management and protection, without stretching the budget. Onboarding new devices is simple, and support has been helpful whenever we’ve needed assistance.

What stands out most are the smart AI features—they do a great job catching advanced threats, ransomware, and zero-days through cloud sandboxing and behavioral detection. It runs quietly in the background and gives me real peace of mind.

Overall, ESET PROTECT has been reliable, effective, and easy to live with day to day. I highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

The online console provides enough detail, but it doesn’t always make it easy to tell which user is currently signed in on the computer.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Virus protection visibility is the biggest benefit for us. The product we transitioned from to ESET Protect wasn’t easy to navigate, and it was hard to see what was going on with users’ computers.

  ### 4. Centralized and Efficient Security Administration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar Humberto G. | consultor Fortinet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

I like being able to manage all the endpoints centrally with ESET PROTECT, which allows me to see the status of the PCs and apply centralized policies. Additionally, it gives me a 360-degree view of the infrastructure and complete operational visibility, including the ability to identify outdated equipment. I found it very valuable how lightweight it is, as it especially benefits all the security management I perform.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

At first, I found it difficult to get used to the console. Having a guided configuration mode for tasks like installing agents on new PCs, creating basic security policies, applying policies by group, understanding critical alerts, and generating executive reports would be useful.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ESET PROTECT to centrally manage the security of many devices. It gives me visibility of the infrastructure, I can apply policies from a single place and see the status of the devices, which is valuable for managing 600 growing devices.

  ### 5. Seamless enough you forget you have it on your machine.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew Z. | IT support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

Overall use is very painless. There is not a whole lot of overhead in terms of compute on the client device. Has compatibility with powershell scripts which can help with remediations. Interface is okay, there could be refinement in the web portal side.

As an IT professional it is nice to not need to always have an eye on it.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

Sometimes the scripts do not work and support is not the most helpful.
The web portal does not to my knowledge has a way to auto sort devices into different sections.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET Protect helps with a centralized end point security panel. It better than not having anything and more cost effective than windows defender in Entra/Azure.

Overall remediations from within the product is fast and efficient.

  ### 6. Clear, Centralized Console for Managing All Endpoints

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitry D. | COO and Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

So the primary thing with me is that the management console provides a very clear view of what is occurring at all of your endpoints at once, and you do not have to dig around to find out. But, i am waiting an eternity for it to load, and i am just standing here thinking about how great it will be to simply pull up the dashboard on my phone, and see what is going on without making a huge ordeal However, ESET manages them both. Centralized console is where i spend most of my time, and it is laid out in a manner that makes sense for managing an entire fleet of devices.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

Documentation is extremely extensive (to the point of being overwhelming) yes i appreciate that it exists; however when i am trying to figure out one specific thing, i will read three articles that do not quite answer my question. Petty complaint - noise level of alerts can get very high and tuning it down to only what is actually important takes a while to get corrected. On-boarding new devices does not always happen as fast as i would like, sometimes policies take a bit longer to apply and you are sitting there wondering if it was applied successfully.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET protect handles this entirely within one place. Prior to using ESET protect we had gaps in visibility (some machines were not properly monitored) which we did not discover until after an incident occurred. Now i can see everything at once from the single dashboard and have actual visibility into what is occurring. Lastly having one agent across your environment instead of three separate tools fighting each other is good.

  ### 7. Easy-to-Use, Silent Protection with Strong Reporting and Customization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodeny M. | IT Operation, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

ESET how it allows me protect project data everything each easy to use easy runs silently without causing still giving happening console risks fastes slow traffic or system give me excatly support malware quietly background affecting performnace integration analyst.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

ESET has been helpful for me as an analyst, especially when it comes to reporting, and it also offers a good range of customizable options. The system runs smoothly, although the learning curve take some extra effort at the beginning. Once you get used to it, it becomes very precise and it feels like it could be adopted by more customers. It works and feels close to perfect in almost every aspect.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET desgin is flexible and adapts well to my requirements, and it keeps me informed about malware outbreaks. It helps protect against malicious activity and highlights security issues, including suspicious financial reports. On top of that it’s supportes scure access through access control, which adds an extra layer of protection.

  ### 8. Comprehensive Endpoint Security with Minor Licensing Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan E. | Information Security Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

I like that the UI of the ESET PROTECT web portal is very easy to navigate. Everything is labeled logically, and I can reach things with just a few clicks. I also appreciate the ability to label devices in any way I want, making it straightforward to filter by department, Windows version, or device type. Most tasks I want to execute remotely, like updating ESET antivirus or shutting down a device, are available out of the box. It's also not difficult to create my own tasks. The easy navigation means it's never a chore to use, and the main dashboard makes it easy for our team to see current problems, saving us time and providing visibility. The custom labeling feature allows me to create reports and dashboards to share with others, focusing on what's important for them.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

For some reason they decided to decouple the endpoint management (ESET PROTECT) from user and license management. All three of them exist on a different domain and require you to separately log in. So I have had scenarios where there was a problem with my license, and I had to log in to the license manager, but to do that I first had to log in the user management to give myself permissions to view the license management. It was rather convoluted and, in my opinion, unnecessary. Furthermore, this decoupling I think is also the reason why sometimes new devices added to your system look like they have issues verifying the license; A newly added device sometimes doesn't want to activate its ESET licenses, because it takes a while for it to communicate with the license manager to sort it out. It's not a big issue, but it does mean that we generally install the software on the first day, and then configure it the next day to not run into these types of issues.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ESET PROTECT to ensure our devices are secure and compliant with policies. It solves visibility issues and saves time by allowing remote management, analysis, and troubleshooting of devices. The easy navigation saves us time, and custom labeling aids in efficient reporting.

  ### 9. Easy Central Management with Smooth Performance and Seamless Windows Domain Sync

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Selwin G. | IT Security Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

For me the biggest advantage is the central management. It makes it straightforward to keep everything up to date myself and allow to block USB drives whenever needed. On top of that the learning software and the browser run smoothly without any lag the console is very easy to navigate we also connected it to our windows domain and it synced users and system without any issues.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

At first, ESET’s policy settings weren’t very clear to me and it took a while to understand what each option actually does the console has been useful because it lets me check everything quickly without needing to log into each individual system and it was straightforward to set up as wel.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ESET helps keep my development setup safe from risky packages and downloads, and it also helps ensure all our locations stay on the same security configuration. That consistency is a big plus, especially when we’re trying to manage security across multiple sites. Setting it up for different user groups can be time consuming, particularly in the early stages when you’re getting everything aligned. On the other hand, the built-in ability to track versions on its own saves us time, since we don’t have to manually chase down which users are still running outdated definition versions.

  ### 10. Centralized Management with Helpful Email Notifications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitry S. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?**

For me, central management is probably the biggest advantage. This is where you can look at each client to determine whether they’re up-to-date, update them yourself, allow/deny USB drives, etc. All of these items are managed through a single tool. I’ll try to keep this brief since i’ve worked a 12 hour day, but the notifications via email are actually really helpful. Whether the threat was detected automatically by the system or had to be handled by a user, it’s still sending notifications. As an administrator for many devices, those types of notification can make a big difference.

**What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?**

It goes without saying that deep scans can slow your computer down to nothing. That’s just how it works. Low spec computers or older ones will essentially shut off certain applications during the scan. The management portal has a steep learning curve and the curve never really levels out. After months of use and countless hours spent trying to learn new features, i’m starting to feel exhausted with the amount of learning required. More often than i would like false positives occur and tracking down quarantined files that end up being harmless is just busy work. Lastly, the price tag for licenses is noticeably higher than other products and the process of renewing your license is another headache.

**What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to be able to protect my organization’s endpoint protection in one location. We need to be able to protect both our Windows and Mac machines and we need to be able to protect those that connect from their homes on networks we have no influence over. Eset protect allows us to do all of that in one package (malware, ransomware, intrusion prevention, controlling USB drives, web threats). With one product we don’t have multiple tools we need to stitch together. The ability to track versions alone helps it save time because they aren’t having to manually chase down which users are currently using outdated definition versions. It may not be perfect but it does exactly what it claims to do.

**Official Response from Kristopher Jackson:**
