## About Emerge
Emerge is an all-in-one freight procurement platform. Shippers use Emerge to manage contract and spot freight procurement, from annual RFPs and mini-bids to real-time spot quoting, backed by AI-driven benchmarking and spend optimization. That procurement is powered by the Emerge Marketplace, a network of pre-vetted motor carriers, from independent owner-operators to large fleets, who source and book loads directly through the platform. On the contract side, shippers run annual RFPs and shorter mini-bids, track carrier performance with scorecards, and get reporting and analytics to see how their procurement strategy is performing over time. On the spot side, shippers execute quotes quickly, use Dynamic Book It Now for instant coverage, and get tracking and visibility into shipments as they move, all backed by the same reporting layer. Emerge AI adds predictive analytics and automated decision support on top of both, with spend optimization, contract and spot benchmarking, and lane intelligence to help shippers understand market pricing and make faster, more informed sourcing decisions instead of relying on guesswork or outdated rate data. Carriers, from independent owner-operators to large fleets, access loads directly through the Emerge Marketplace and Premier Partner program, with deeper API and EDI connectivity available through Capacity Link for carriers who want tighter integration with their own systems. Emerge also connects with leading TMS platforms and data partners through no-code integrations, so shippers can plug Emerge into their existing tech stack without heavy engineering lift. On security and scale, Emerge is SOC2 compliant, hosts data across both US and Europe data centers, and supports large enterprise shippers managing hundreds of thousands of shipments and lanes. Shippers also get guided onboarding, dedicated procurement experts, and ongoing support from a dedicated team. Emerge is trusted by shippers across food and beverage, retail, hardware, and industrial manufacturing, including Tyson, Albertsons, Interfood, Ace Hardware, Huhtamaki, Pepsi Bottling, Trane Technologies, Dollar Tree, Ryserson, and Orbis, among others.

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

We’ve been using Emerge for about eight months, mainly for managing refrigerated truckloads and securing carrier capacity for perishable goods. I like that the RFP process is much more organized than handling bids through emails and spreadsheets. The carrier marketplace also gives us another option when we need additional reefer capacity. Price benchmarking is useful for comparing our contract rates with current market pricing, while the ability to work with both existing and new carriers gives us more flexibility. Overall, it has been a great experience. Onboarding was straightforward, implementation went smoothly, and the support team has been responsive whenever we’ve needed assistance.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

I’d like to see more flexibility in the reporting. The standard dashboards are useful, but some of the more specific operational or compliance information we track requires exporting data for additional analysis.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emerge helps us manage freight procurement for refrigerated truckloads, secure dependable carrier capacity, and make better-informed decisions around shipping spend. Having the procurement and carrier information in one place has made the process more organized for our team.

  ### 2. A more structured approach to freight procurement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

Emerge gives our team a more organized way to approach freight sourcing instead of managing carrier conversations and pricing comparisons across email and spreadsheets. I particularly like having the marketplace and bidding process in one place, which makes it easier to compare carrier options and communicate directly with providers.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

The platform does require some adjustment if your existing process is heavily manual. We would also like to see continued improvements around integrations and reducing repetitive data entry, particularly for teams working across multiple transportation systems.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main challenge was making freight procurement more consistent and transparent. Emerge gives us a centralized workflow for putting freight out for bid, reviewing carrier responses, comparing pricing, and making procurement decisions.

The marketplace is useful because it gives us another way to reach carriers rather than relying only on our existing network. Having bid information and carrier communication together also makes it easier to review decisions internally and keep the procurement process organized.

  ### 3. A more structured approach to freight procurement and carrier communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Sales Manager, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

What I like about Emerge is the ability to bring freight procurement into one digital workflow rather than relying primarily on separate conversations with individual carriers. For a business where transportation needs can change quickly, having a marketplace to source capacity and compare bids provides a more structured way to approach procurement.

The shipper-carrier marketplace is particularly useful because it creates a more direct connection with carriers. Instead of managing every rate discussion through separate emails or calls, our team can use the platform to organize the bidding process and make decisions with the available pricing information in front of us.

I also like the visibility it provides around procurement activity. Having bids and carrier communication organized in one place makes it easier to compare options and understand why a particular carrier or rate was selected.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

The platform still requires some operational discipline. The value is greatest when the team consistently keeps shipment information, bids, and carrier communication within the workflow rather than reverting to email or other processes.

For teams that are used to highly manual procurement, there can also be an adjustment period while people become familiar with a new way of sourcing and evaluating capacity. I would like to see continued improvements around integrations and reducing any repetitive data entry between transportation systems and procurement workflows.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using a digital procurement marketplace, freight sourcing can become fragmented, particularly when rates and carrier availability need to be checked quickly. Emerge gives us a more organized process for approaching both spot opportunities and broader procurement activity.

The biggest benefit is having a clearer way to put a shipment out for bid, receive carrier responses, compare pricing, and make a decision without managing the entire process manually. It also gives our team a better record of the procurement process, which is useful when reviewing carrier decisions or discussing transportation costs internally.

For a company dealing with changing transportation requirements, I see the most value in the combination of marketplace access and procurement visibility. It gives a small or midsize logistics team a more systematic way to approach carrier sourcing without needing to build that process entirely from scratch.

  ### 4. A More Structured Approach to Freight Procurement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily W. | Conversational Commerce | WhatsApp Marketing | GTM , Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

What stands out to me about Emerge is the marketplace approach to freight procurement. Instead of relying entirely on individual carrier relationships or back-and-forth emails, the platform creates a more structured way to put freight in front of carriers and compare responses. The ability to see bids and communicate with carriers in one place is useful when the priority is getting a clearer view of the available options.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

The platform is most valuable when there is enough freight activity to justify a dedicated procurement workflow. For a smaller team, adoption and process setup can take some thought, particularly if freight procurement has historically been handled informally. I would also like to see continued improvements around integrations and flexibility for teams with less conventional transportation workflows.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Emerge addresses is making freight sourcing less fragmented. Traditional procurement can involve spreadsheets, emails, phone calls, and multiple carrier conversations, which makes it harder to compare pricing and keep a clear record of decisions.

Emerge provides a central marketplace for soliciting bids and interacting with carriers. That can make spot procurement easier to organize and gives teams more information when deciding which option makes sense based on price, availability, and service requirements. It also reduces some of the manual coordination involved in running individual carrier conversations.

  ### 5. A straightforward way to manage freight procurement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

What stands out to me about Emerge is the marketplace approach. Having shippers and carriers interact through the same platform makes the procurement process feel more organized. I also like having better visibility into the sourcing process instead of managing everything through separate conversations and spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

Since I have only been using Emerge for about a month, I am still getting familiar with the platform and its workflow. The initial learning period could be a little easier for new users.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a retail apparel environment, freight procurement can involve a lot of coordination and information to keep track of. Emerge provides a more centralized way to approach transportation sourcing and gives better visibility between the shipper and carrier sides. That makes the process easier to follow and helps keep procurement activities more structured.

  ### 6. A practical way to bring more structure to freight procurement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas G. | CEO, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Emerge?**

What I like most is the visibility Emerge provides across carrier options, pricing, and bids. Having everything in one place makes it easier to compare options and communicate directly with carriers rather than managing multiple conversations separately.

**What do you dislike about Emerge?**

There is a small learning curve when getting started, and some workflows could be more intuitive. I’d also like to see more customization and automation as procurement requirements become more complex.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emerge helps us make freight sourcing more organized and less dependent on manual processes. Having bids and carrier information centralized makes it easier to evaluate alternatives, understand pricing, and make decisions with better visibility.

The marketplace approach is particularly useful when we need to explore different carrier options instead of relying on a limited network.

There is a little time needed to get familiar with the platform and establish the right workflow. Some additional customization and automation would make it even easier for smaller teams.

**What problems is Emerge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emerge helps reduce the back-and-forth involved in sourcing freight and comparing carrier options. Having the procurement process centralized makes it easier for us to review bids, communicate with carriers, and make decisions based on the available options.
