"Powerful observability platform with a bit of a learning curve"
4/5
What do you like best about Elastic Observability?

What I like most is being able to bring logs, metrics, and application performance data together in one place. The dashboards and search capabilities make it much easier to investigate issues without having to jump between multiple monitoring tools. I also appreciate the flexibility to customize dashboards and alerts based on what the team actually needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elastic Observability?

The biggest downside for me is the learning curve. There are a lot of features and configuration options, so it takes some time to figure out where everything is and how to get the most out of the platform. Log filtering, along with some of the more advanced capabilities, could also be more intuitive and easier to navigate for first-time users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unlimited data ingestion"
4/5
What do you like best about Elastic Observability?

• Eliminating tool sprawl and data silos: Instead of switching between separate tools for logs, metrics, and traces, it consolidates all telemetry into a single platform. This benefits teams by creating a unified source of truth that accelerates root-cause analysis and fosters seamless collaboration between developers and operations.

• Taming massive, fragmented data volumes: Modern microservice and cloud architectures generate overwhelming amounts of unstructured data that are difficult to search. Elastic solves this by indexing data efficiently, benefiting your business with sub-second search speeds across terabytes of data so you can pinpoint production bugs instantly.

• Reducing alert fatigue and manual sorting: Traditional monitoring relies on static thresholds that trigger too many false alarms. Elastic solves this by using built-in machine learning to detect anomalies, benefiting engineers by surfacing only genuine issues and automating root-cause insights before outages impact users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elastic Observability?

Steep learning curve: Setting up, configuring, and tuning Elastic Agent, fleet management, and complex index lifecycle policies (ILM) requires dedicated engineering time and platform knowledge.

Cost scaling and unpredictable sizing: As ingestion spikes during traffic surges or major incidents, resource consumption and cloud storage/compute bills can climb very quickly if data tiers are not aggressively tuned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexibility on scale"
5/5
What do you like best about Elastic Observability?

• Unlimited data ingestion: Elastic handles terabytes of logs, metrics, and traces daily across complex, multi-cloud, or hybrid architectures without hitting performance bottlenecks.

• Granular tiering and storage: It lets you scale cost-effectively by automatically moving older data from fast, expensive hot storage to cheaper cold or frozen storage tiers while keeping it searchable.

• Unified data schema: The Elastic Common Schema (ECS) standardises data formats across thousands of microservices, ensuring that search and correlation remain fast and accurate no matter how large your environment grows.

• Tailored deployment models: You can scale seamlessly by using Elastic Cloud as a fully managed SaaS, hosting it in your own private cloud, or deploying it on-premises to meet strict compliance and data sovereignty rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elastic Observability?

Steep learning curve and high operational complexity.

Unlike plug-and-play SaaS competitors that work out of the box, Elastic takes substantial manual effort, expertise, and time to set up properly. Configuring agents, designing dashboards, tuning alert thresholds, and managing data index lifecycles all require ongoing attention to avoid performance lag or unexpected storage costs. What do you dislike about Elastic Observability?

Elastic Observability is a powerful service, but with so many options it can feel overwhelming for a new user. There’s definitely a learning curve to understand how everything works, but the documentation helps a lot and makes it easier to follow. The initial setup and integration can take some additional effort, but once it’s in place, everything runs smoothly and feels well organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
