"Seamless Auto-Sync Across Devices That Just Works"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

From my experience, the biggest advantage is that everything stays updated across my devices automatically. I can save a file on my laptop and instantly access it on my phone without emailing it to myself or using a USB drive. It just works in the background, which saves a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

Another downside for me is the pricing when you need more storage. While the platform works well, upgrading can feel a bit expensive compared to some other cloud storage options that offer more space on their free plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using it, I used to email files to myself or carry them on a USB drive just to move them between my laptop and phone. It was messy and easy to lose track of the latest version of a document. Dropbox removes that issue because my files are automatically synced and available anywhere.

Another problem it solves is sharing large files. Instead of dealing with email attachment limits, I can simply send a link to a file or folder. That makes collaboration much easier and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless File Sharing and Management with Dropbox"

5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

I really like Dropbox for its Transfer feature and the ability to create links for viewing with expiration dates. It allows me to gather specific items like photos, files, and office documents to send to specific clients with an expiration date, and I get informed if the files have been downloaded. The initial setup of Dropbox was pretty easy since everything was almost automated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

I could use an AI assistant helping me a bit more, especially in keeping everything tidy and inform me about duplicate files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Dropbox for organizing media bank data, internal documentation, and folder backups. It solves the problem of sharing large files and using them on the go. Dropbox Transfer and link expiration feature are valuable for sending files securely with client download notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Best Sync Engine You’ll Ever Overpay For"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

Dropbox originally won the cloud wars because its sync engine was unmatched, and it’s still incredibly reliable. It uses block-level copying (or delta sync), meaning if you edit a massive 100MB file, it only uploads the tiny fraction of the file that actually changed, rather than re-uploading the entire thing. It makes syncing feel almost instantaneous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

Dropbox started as a beautifully simple, invisible folder that just worked. Over the years, it has tried to reinvent itself as an all-in-one "collaborative workspace." Features like Dropbox Paper, built-in media players, PDF editors, and screen recording tools are nice for some, but for many users, it just feels like unnecessary bloat. It can make the desktop application resource-heavy, hogging RAM and battery life Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

At its core, Dropbox solves a fundamental digital headache: fragmentation. Before tools like it existed, our files were trapped on specific hard drives, sharing large files meant dealing with email attachment limits, and a crashed computer meant lost work.

Here is a breakdown of the core problems Dropbox solves and how those solutions translate into real-world benefits:

1. The Problem: The "Where Did I Put That File?" Dilemma

The Solution: Unified, cross-platform access. Dropbox creates a single, localized folder on your computer that mirrors perfectly to the cloud and every other device you own.

The Benefit: It eliminates the friction of moving between different operating systems. You can start a project on a Windows desktop, tweak it on an iPad while traveling, and quickly pull it up on an Android phone or Mac without emailing files to yourself or carrying a USB drive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Sync and Simple Setup for Personal Projects"

5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

I mainly use Dropbox for my personal development projects. What I like most about Dropbox is its reliable file syncing and simplicity. Once I place a file in my Dropbox folder, it automatically syncs across my devices without requiring any extra setup. This is really helpful when working on personal development projects because I can access the same project files whether I'm on my main laptop or another machine. Another feature I find useful is easy folder organization and file recovery. I can keep different project folders separated and quickly find configuration files, scripts, or documentation when needed. The version history and file recovery options are also helpful in case I accidentally modify or delete something important. I also appreciate that Dropbox runs quietly in the background and doesn’t interrupt my workflow. It just keeps my files updated and backed up automatically, which makes it a convenient tool for managing small development resources and project-related files. File syncing ensures my updated files are available on all my devices without manual transfer. Simplicity makes it easy to manage files without spending time on setup. Folder organization helps me keep different projects and configuration files structured. File recovery and version history are useful in case I accidentally overwrite or delete something, since I can quickly restore a previous version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

One thing that could be improved is the limited storage in the free plan, which fills up quickly if you store multiple project files or backups. Also, sometimes the syncing process can be a bit slow when dealing with larger folders. Another area for improvement would be better collaboration features in the free tier, since some useful options are only available in paid plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Dropbox to manage and access important project files across devices, maintaining backups and syncing automatically. It simplifies file management, organizes folders easily, and provides file recovery and version history, ensuring I don't lose important configurations. Its reliability and simplicity save me time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless File Management and Sharing That Keeps Content Organized"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

What I like best about Dropbox is how easy it makes managing content. As a social media manager and content creator, I can quickly store, access, and share files with clients and team members without any hassle. It keeps everything organized and saves me a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

What I dislike about Dropbox is that the storage fills up quickly on lower plans, especially when working with large video and design files. Syncing can also be slow at times. File version history is limited unless you’re on a higher plan, which can be frustrating when managing multiple content revisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Dropbox, I struggled with scattered files and slow content sharing, which made collaboration harder. We struggled with managing and sharing multiple content files, but now we can store everything in one place and share links instantly, which has resulted in smoother workflows and faster approvals. Overall, it saves me about 1 hour per week and helps me meet deadlines more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Dropbox Sync That Just Works—Seamless Sharing and Reliable File Recovery"

5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

I like that Dropbox just works in the background without me having to think about it. Syncing files across my laptop and phone is seamless, and sharing large folders with clients is way easier than email attachments. Plus the recovery feature has saved me a couple of times when I accidentally deleted something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

The pricing can add up if you need more than the basic free storage. Also, the desktop app sometimes uses more system resources than I'd like, slowing down my older laptop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the problem of file version chaos and lost work. I can access my files from anywhere without carrying a USB drive, and sharing project folders with teammates keeps everyone on the same page. That saves me at least an hour a week chasing down documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Reliable Sync and Seamless Team Collaboration with Dropbox"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

There are several things I find beneficial about using Dropbox. It provides fast, reliable file synchronization across the many platforms and devices we use both in the office and out in the field. It also excels at team collaboration and supports real-time editing, which makes it easier for us to work together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

Some features feel a bit more expensive than the competition. The free storage is also lower at 2GB compared to others, and there’s a constant push from the Dropbox team to upsell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Dropbox helps us address key operational and collaboration challenges. From an integration standpoint, both of these areas benefit our organization, and the overall user experience is consistently solid. Support has also been well above par. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless File Sharing and Collaboration with Seamless Desktop Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

Dropbox is our go-to for cloud storage and document sharing because it is truly effortless. The product enables us to collaborate on documents internally and share files externally. When we share externally, people can still access files through dropbox.com without needing an account or an app. I also appreciate the desktop version Dropbox because it integrates seamlessly into my drives that are already stored on my device. What do you dislike about Dropbox?

The only issue I've ever encountered with Dropbox is related to storage settings. It can be challenge to determine which folders or files are stored locally and taking up too much space on your drive. However, once located, it's easy to switch to online only and free up space. What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Dropbox enables cross-team collaboration across multiple products in real time. Other products might work within a web browser, but Dropbox creates solution that works in multiple scenarios (online, on desktop, with and without internet, etc.). Thanks to Dropbox, we can confident work on files, save them, and trust that our colleagues will be able to access them within seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless File Sharing with Expiring Links"

4/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

I use Dropbox to share and save files, which solves the problem of not having to attach files to emails and worrying about email attachment limits. I can easily update and store documents, making it simple to access and share them with a link. I like that it's compatible with macOS, effectively integrating with my file management system. I find the ability to expire links, letting me choose when to expire folder links, very valuable since it allows me to give limited access. I enjoy that I can access Dropbox from anywhere as long as I have an account, and its usability is pretty seamless. It's also really easy to pick up, especially if many others are already using it. I’ve always used Dropbox as a backup for my Google Drive storage. Whenever my Gmail storage starts to run over, I move some of my data to Dropbox, and the whole process feels seamless.
