## Dropbox Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI

### Is Dropbox free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, Dropbox does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

### How much does Dropbox cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, Dropbox pricing in 2026 starts at $11.99 and can reach $30.00 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the Dropbox's official pricing page for the most current details.

### Who is Dropbox pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviews, Dropbox's pricing structure suits a broad range of users depending on the tier. The free plan appeals to casual individual users needing basic cloud backup. Dropbox's Plus and Essentials plans are well-suited for freelancers, photographers, and self-employed professionals who need substantial storage and large file sharing. G2 reviewers from small businesses frequently praise the Business and Standard plans for team collaboration and shared folder management. Enterprise and mid-market reviewers in industries like marketing, construction, media production, and information technology gravitate toward Advanced and Business Plus tiers for admin controls and compliance features. Budget-conscious users, students, and those in price-sensitive markets may find Dropbox's pricing less accessible compared to bundled alternatives.

### What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Dropbox?

Dropbox's free Basic plan offers just 2GB of storage and limits device connections to three, which G2 reviewers frequently cite as the primary driver for upgrading. Dropbox's paid plans begin with the Plus tier at $9.99 per month, unlocking 2TB of storage, unlimited device connections, and 30-day file recovery. Higher tiers like Essentials and Business add features such as 180-day file recovery, large file delivery up to 100GB, PDF editing, video review tools, unlimited signature requests, and admin controls. G2 users note that advanced collaboration features, Smart Sync, and extended version history are exclusively available on Dropbox's paid plans, making the free tier suitable only for minimal personal use.

### Is Dropbox considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers are divided on Dropbox's value. Many high-rating reviewers describe it as worth the cost, praising its reliability, sync speed, and seamless cross-platform integration. However, pricing concerns appear frequently across G2 reviews, with users noting that Dropbox's paid plans are more expensive than competitors like Google Drive and OneDrive. G2 reviewers from small businesses and individual users often find the jump from the free 2GB tier to paid plans steep, with no mid-range storage option. Students and users in developing countries specifically flag affordability as a barrier. That said, enterprise and professional users consistently rate Dropbox highly, suggesting strong value for those who rely on it daily.

"Annoying, paywalls, lag, buggy features, low free cap, frustrating access/security"

0/5

What do you like best about Dropbox?

not much. i think the only feature i like is giving someone outside of the account access to upload files to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dropbox?

almost everything. everyone in my industry uses dropbox at some point. if someone wants to share files with me and my personal dropbox is full \*because it fills up FAST due to low storage caps on free accounts\* it has annoying pop up windows that block me from seeing or accessing the files that someone else is sharing on their account, and that's just to view them. i have had to open several dropbox accounts and have folks resend the links so i can view them. they are not stored in MY account, but it reads it as if it is. the security features are also annoying, they are confusing, multi-layered (you verify then it wants to reverify with even more steps, even though you successfully confirmed you have access through codes etc). flipping through files to view and go backwards is sometimes also annoying, it takes you out of the folder location and makes you re-sign in to view files you have permission to view. renaming files can be tedious as well, there's at least a 10-20 second buffer time to wait for the renaming to take affect before you can move on to another action. i've created links to media creators to use and upload their files to, and several folks said it didn't work or it wouldn't allow them to upload or they just received an error when trying to access the link. costly subscription for the most annoying cloud service ever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Dropbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

barely solves anything. if anything at all, it creates problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
