As someone who grew up using VHS for training videos, I appreciate technology that doesn’t make me feel like I need a degree in computer science to use it. Colossyan is refreshingly simple.

I use Colossyan Creator to create custom branded talking images, and I appreciate how it enables my branded images to talk. One of the features I like most is the lip sync and motion, which work very well. I like that it was easy to use and create a video after uploading a power point I had used for training. It is nice to break up my trainings so that staff do not just have to listen to me speak for hours. I love the ability to upload and utilize my own pictures for the videos. I have only been using the trial version, so I am sure with the paid version there are additional scenarios, avatars and images available. I also like the idea of getting information to patrons/customers in a digital video format. I think it is so much more effective in getting information to people when they can watch a fun video instead of reading a long description or having to read a lot of information. I did have some issues with playback where the screen kept freezing while I was watching it. I also tried to use the free account to create a sample video, but I guess that I hit preview too many times and it would no longer let me preview the free video without paying for a subscription. Every time I changed or updated something I wanted to see the end result but would find more minor things to change, but apparently you can only do that so many times without it pushing you to pay for a subscription. Ive used other AI video generation tools before. Where Colossyan shines is in its ability to consume a PDF and then generate a video with an avatar where the speaking points are broken down into presentation slides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is nothing I dislike about Colossyan Creator. It could use some enhancements in the voice-over area where the user selects from its library of avatars, languages and accents. Our team uses Collosyan on many of our projects and were most interested in the conversation elements of the avatars. We are able to use this to address our sales content much easier. It is not a complete and robust tool, and there feels like there is space to add more. I'd like the editing of the tool to also be a little more obvious to use. I think they were going for simplicity which is a good thing, but for users who seek more advanced functionality, this might be a little frustrating. The platform is really easy to use and there is no need for any long tutorials although their introductory bootcamp that we cpompeted before we even signed up was a completely brilliant piece of online training (and we are hard to pleae in that field as we are all trainers by trade!)

The platform is super easy to learn how to use and the ability to be able to create a whole video (and not just the avatar) is really useful. I work for an international company and the tool has a feature which allows you to change the language in an instant. The feedback from my European collegues has been the surprise at how good the translated voices were. The cost of a real presenter is always too much for the eLearning content we are creating, so this now gives us a new way to be able to engage with the learner. There are a few areas that can still do with some improvement. The lip syncing is still not prefect and there are a couple of other aspects of the tool that required a little time to work out the best work around for when creating a video.
