When I worked at FirstMile, we often sent customers shipping labels when they were sending out replacement shipments that we were covering. ShipRush made that process very straightforward. Whether I was creating a single label or generating them in batches, it was easy to do. The interface was clean, and the site was simple to navigate. All I needed to do was enter the customer’s address and details, add the package weight and dimensions, choose the label type I wanted to print, and ShipRush would generate a PDF I could use as the label. When I was using my laptop, it was hard to see all the available label options to create, especially when a lot of options were loaded. I could adjust the on-screen image size, but I have older eyes now, and changing the size made it difficult for me to see clearly while working. It’s a label-creation platform. We connected our API to ShipRush, loaded the rates and label types, and then were able to create different labels for carriers such as DHL and USPS. ShipRush integrates with our e-commerce sites hosted by WooCommerce and Shopify. It also integrates with QuickBooks (Manufacturing & Wholesale). This last feature was extremely important to us. Many of of our orders arrive via e-mail, fax & telephone and go straight into QuickBooks, not from e-commerce sites. It isn't feasible to have someone manually transfer shipping information from QuickBooks into a shipping application and then enter tracking numbers and shipping costs back into QuickBooks. ShipRush's customer service and technical support has been prompt and knowledgeable. Another feature of ShipRush I greatly appreciate is being able to process shipments for USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL in a single application. ShipRush is easier to used than processing orders on DHL's own web site! As the application is browser-based, there is very little software to install, just a "toolbox" (for connecting the browser app to devices such as local printers) and the QuickBooks Web Connector plug-in, which is how ShipRush integrates with Quickbooks. Previously, setting up a new shipping computer with multiple softwares to handle all of the different carriers was a major undertaking. ShipRush can upload commercial invoices for international shipments sent via UPS, FedEx, and DHL, which means we don't have to attach physical copies to the package. My primary disappointment with ShipRush is that it only updates batches of shipping transactions with our QuickBooks database on a cycle, every 6-12 minutes, depending on my choice. Other shipping solutions (such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager) are capable of updating each transaction with QuickBooks quickly and individually. You need to have either one user's computer doing the updates--which slows QuickBooks down for that user--or dedicate another computer to being logged into QuickBooks and the QuickBooks web connector. But having to wait for the update cycle is inconvenient regardless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Descartes ShipRush solving and how is that benefiting you? ShipRush allows us to get away from another mail processing program I will not name that we used solely because it could integrate with QuickBooks. Technical support with the other program has always been inconsistent and aggravating. ShipRush greatly streamlines processing our e-commerce shipments. I plug in either the e-commerce order number or our own QuickBooks invoice number, choose a carton size and weight, and press "Ship." That's it, apart from needing to input some of the customs information for international shipments--ShipRush automatically inputs the contents of either the web order or the QuickBooks invoice into the commodities table which greatly reduces the workload of processing large international orders. Tracking information gets sent automatically back to the e-commerce site, and the customer gets a shipment notification e-mail, too. We can choose to have either ShipRush or the carrier send the e-mail, and we can have the shipment notification e-mailed copied to additional addresses if our customer service deparment needs us to. ShipRush has (almost) entirely displaced our previous shipping processing programs. We process better than 99.9% of our parcel shipments with all four carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS & USPS) through ShipRush, and we would not want to go back to using individual programs. What we like the best is how easy and quick it is to complete each shipment. It imports all the shipping info from our website and puts it in a nice clean list. We click on the order we want to ship, and all the order information pops up. Put in the weight and dimensions of the box, and you can get quotes from all the carriers in one list! No clicking around to various places to get quotes and find the best rate. It's so so easy. Click on SHIP - the label prints. Then it sends the tracking info back to our website and marks the order as shipped. It's the best software and interface for shipping we've used in the last 15 years, out of 7 to 10 different options we've tried. Bonus awesome features that are hard to find: Easily add boxes to your shipment REPEAT a box if you have multiple that are the same weight/size All the rates with all the carriers in one list COD since we have that set up with our UPS account Connects right to our printers & scale Fully integrates with our Shift4Shop website Tons of extra features in the options if you want to get technical about your features (ex: I flipped my labels to print upside down instead because it worked better with our labels.) The only thing they could possibly improve is a quick way to add a package to a previously sent shipment.
