## Deepgram Reviews
 ### 1. Best in class service, complete and accessible documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben M. | Vice President, Innovation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram API is fast and feature-rich. I've been using it for prototyping interactive voice systems and have often been surprised by how the developers anticipated the needs of my use case. The documentation and code examples are also extremely good, making it easy to get started. I actually point to Deepgram API documents and SDK as exemplary; they're very logically organized, easy-to-understand, and simple to navigate. It's amazing how even very good services struggle to get this right.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I've only used the speech-to-text features of the platform, and haven't jumped into the text-to-speech side. I'd be interested in an environment where I could use both APIs in conjunction to save on latency. As of the time of this writing, the SDK for live transcription doesn't support multi-language flags even though the API supports it, but that might be addressed in the near future.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating new applications and experiences based on multi-agent dialogue with AI. Deepgram is far and away the best out of the box solution I've seen. I've considered many local and hosted flavors of Whisper and nothing comes close. In particular the speaker utterance end detection and interim results events are leagues ahead for building IVR applications.

 ### 2. Fast & Precise transcriptions! Easy to integrate!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayush S. | Co-founder & CTO at QuickReel.io, Online Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram has the fastest transcriptions,
It's a great plug-and-play solution, Transcribes the long audios well,
The support has been helpful as well.
The features it includes like Diarization and filler word removal are great add-ons.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

They need to work on their log and filters and full error logs.
A lot of the time the transcription calls don't run the data and return a q503 error instead.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram is helping us get the correct multilingual word-level diarized transcripts of long videos so our platform can understand the videos and produce accurate subtitles for the reels generated.
Our users have to wait a lot less to get the transcripts of their videos and we can generate better and faster results for them.

 ### 3. Incredible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary E. | Cofounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Best transcription models in the world. Nothing even close.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Pricing could be cheaper, options for speed like models with Groq would be nice.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram provides a core service to our business which is an AI wearable to help you remember conversations. It benefits us by providing fast real time transcription in a bunch of languages.

 ### 4. UTILITY FOR TRANSCRIPTIONS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LEYDER FARYD R. | AUXILIAR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I USUALLY USE IT TO MAKE TRANSCRIPTIONS OF HEARINGS. AMONG ITS ADVANTAGES IS THAT IT IS THE PLATFORM (OF THOSE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO USE) THAT DOES THE TRANSCRIPTIONS BEST.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

LATELY IT HAS BEEN PRESENTING A FAILURE, THAT IS, IT DOES NOT PERFORM THE TRANSCRIPTION OF VERY LONG AUDIOS, E.G., 1:30:00 OR MORE. WHAT I MEAN IS THAT SECONDS ARE SKIPPED IN PARTS OF THE TRANSCRIPTIONS.

ANOTHER POINT IS THAT WHEN DATES OR NUMBERS ARE MENTIONED IN THE AUDIOS, THEY ARE TRANSCRIBED IN LETTERS AND NOT NUMERICALLY. IT WOULD BE GOOD TO HAVE THAT OPTION.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GENERALLY I NEED TO MAKE TRANSCRIPTIONS OF AUDIOS OF ONE HOUR OR MORE, AND IT MAKES THAT WORK MUCH EASIER.

 ### 5. Deepgram is powerful and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel Angel M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

it really is a great ally, it supports many languages, the APIs are simple, easy to use, the accuracy is very good too, it is fast, there is a lot of support. I am very happy to use deepgram, it is really powerful and easy to use, uncomplicated and above all very transparent.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Deepgram is amazing it supports many languages when it comes to transcriptions but using Text to Speach which is also great and amazing, when you write in English!!! The only thing is that so far it doesn't support other languages for Text to Speach, it would be great if it could integrate the Spanish language, only that would be missing in my opinion to make it better.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Deepgram to get transcripts of podcast episodes on my SaaS platform audora.co.

 ### 6. Fast, Accurate Transcription well suited to Medical Transcription

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lachlan D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

We've been thrilled with Deepgram at PatientNotes. We use it for transcribing medical conversations. We evaluated Whisper and other ASR tools and Deepgram won for it's speed and accuracy.

The introduction of the nova and nova 2 models has compounded that advantage. They are fast, cheap and accurate.

Beyond the technical aspects, Deepgram's startup program has been great for us, providing the support and resources whilst we grow.

The team's responsiveness and the quality of customer support have been remarkable, making our journey with Deepgram not just a service subscription, but a partnership that we value deeply.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The only limitation we've encountered so far is that their server locations are in the US US, which poses potential latency issues and data sovereignty concerns for international operations like ours. We're chatting with them about their on-prem product though.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram provides APIs that we lean on for transcribing medical conversations to text as part of generating patient notes for medical practitioners. It's faster than the competition and priced well, so it let's us outsource this key aspect of our product so we can focus on delivering value elsewhere.

 ### 7. Great service, easy to use, great quality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** François C. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Using Deepgram for voice reco over websockets. I love the stability, ease and quality of the API. The transcription quality is near perfect. Pricing is also very good for our scenarios.

Things to improve? Would love gender analysis and more experimental features - custom ML models or the like - for more extensibility.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

No downsides really - maybe the only thing on my end is the keywords setup, maybe having it available at runtime would be easier.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time phone call transcriber

 ### 8. Fast and accurate real-time transcription

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Soumil R. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The service provides real-time speech to text services, which are pretty accurate and super fast compared to competitors

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Not much. The add-on to tell when a user is done speaking isn't fully accurate, but that's a problem nobody has solved in AI yet - can't blame Deepgram for that.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to be able to understand and process what my users are saying real-time with as minimal latency as possible. Deepgram is the best service that allows me to effectively do that.

 ### 9. Deepgram is unmatched in Speech to Text models and we tested against all the big providers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The quality and reliabiltiy of the service, even if disruptions in audio the hallucinations are limited.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Lack of robust startup credit program like the big players have.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reliable speech to text solutions.

 ### 10. The best tool to process audio especify speech to text

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian B. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The best experience with deepgram was the function of diarization also the response time.. I was testing a lot of IA tools to do speech to text and deepgram was the best. I recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I Would like that deepgram also has an aI tool to do text to speech.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a software for work in CRM then I need to process speech to text and make a diarization of the speech and deepgram worked successfully to make this task.

 ### 11. Impressive Accuracy & Pseed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anton S. | Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

They provide a easy to understand documentation about the various services they provide. This in combination with a playground to easily test them out before integration, is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

There could be more services integrated into the playground.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide afforable services related to voice recognition which are both accurate, fast & affordable. The integration is easy and they allow me to boost the quality of the services I provide by allowing me to so easily integrate what they hve to provide.

 ### 12. Very fast and accurate transcriptions that are easy to implement via API

-Great developer experience
-Awesome start-up program
-Very very fast transcriptions (much faster than most other companies)
-Great customer service and community. Shout-out to Demetrios who has been helping us out for a while there!

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

-Not all languages are supported
-Not very privacy friendly. No opt out option for anyone except enterprise customers to prevent Deepgram from using audio to train future models.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Deepgram to transcribe thousands of hours of audio every week. Great API and very fast service!

 ### 13. Solid S2T offering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek W. | Co-Founder, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram provides a solid and speedy S2T solution. They continue to improve their models throughout the year, and we are seeing significant performance increase everytime. Very easy to integrate with our system. Implementation is also quick. There are a large number of features to use.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Nothing really. They provide good support and customer service as well.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using DG to process the audios we received from a 3rd party.

 ### 14. Deepgram STT for telephony application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad Amin R. | Head of Software Engineering , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

There are many STT services but for application working with telephone data, like transcribing voice over the phone, deepgram has specific model which makes it distinguished.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I wish deepgram supports more languages for the TTS service.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a part of our pipeline, we need to transcribe the audio over thelephone. We are mainly using deepgram for this part. Also, we are using TTS service in some cases.

 ### 15. Building an AI tutor with Deepgram

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 💎Gianni M. | Freelance Rails Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

We use Nova-2 to transcribe in realtime audio from children and the accuracy is great and the latency is even better. Also the endpoint and the end utterance parameters help to have a real time conversation with the ai tutor.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Nothing about Nova-2, but we tried Aura for the TTS and the voice was too flat.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time conversational spoken ai tutor for children

 ### 16. Super Easy Even For A Non Programmer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

There is so much information on how to use Deepgram on Youtube and their website. It's low pricing allows even smaller organizations to get invovled in using it.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

It is still created for programmers so there is definitely a learning curve.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has allowed me to create a live transcription for small group meetings. We use a throwable microphone attached to a cromebook running a basic web based app to transcribe the conversation for a member of the group who is deaf. She is now able to have access where she never had access before.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus M. | Escritor autónomo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

How precise it is at transcribing voice to text. It's amazing, the best I've seen on the market. And it keeps getting more new applications.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Mmm... maybe I would like to be able to train it in some way, but I have no complaints.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to transcribe very long interviews daily for my job. Deepgram saves me hours of effort.

 ### 19. i really love the quality, speed, and ease of use

i have not been able to get the mulitchannel function to work and there are no examples (with microphone and live stream) about this that i could find.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

live interview transcription that feeds an LLM

 ### 20. Hackathon Winner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben H. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I was involved in a Hackathon where the goal was to provide realtime translation in a setting like a church service to participants who were not fluent in the language being spoken. We realized pretty quickly that the most critical piece of accomplishing this was to have accurate transcripts from the original audio stream - without that the project was doomed. After a bit of research, we decided to use Deepgram due to its ease of integration, the configurability, and the ability to work with multiple input languages. There also were quite a few helpful examples and tutorials to get us started quickly. We ended up accomplishing our goals with Deepgram and ended up winning the Hackathon with our project.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I was disappointed that there is currently no Java SDK or OpenAPI specification. It can be integrated with a Java application, but not via an SDK. We also noticed that in a church context, some words consistently were being incorrectly transcribed. For example, Ephesus was being transcribed as emphasis even though it didn't fit the context of the sentence.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Producing high quality transcripts from an audio stream so that we can provide realtime translations.

 ### 21. Amazing low latency STT for real time applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Utkarsh S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

We use Deepgram for Speech to text transcription using Socket for real time transcription with response under 100ms

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

We are using their early variant of TTS software but looking voice options in that

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speech to text in real time for AI calling use case

 ### 22. Best transcribing and audio APIs I've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram knows who their customers are, developers or tech decision-makers in a company, so their site is made for them. It is so easy to understand everything, implement it quickly in any app and easy to find all information in the Documentation. I would use again and recommend it to others.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Because it is made to be an abstract API as possible, to work for everyone, sometimes it takes some time to tweak all the options to work for a specific use case. In a way this is good because it gives control, but some pre-made recipe options would be helpful.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Deepgram in 2 projects so far: a meeting-related product that transcribes stored audio/video recordings, and Deepgram is by far the best transcribing service. In another project, it is transcribing user intents in real-time, and is also really good at this too.

 ### 23. Wow! Faster responses than AWS and OpenAI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Demian B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The fact that is faster than other models such as AWS Transcribe and Open AI Whisper. We love it.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

It would be awesome to support more languages in the streaming scenarios such as Portuguese and French.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instant transcription during a video review.

 ### 24. Blazing fast and accurate transcriptions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Αγγελος . | Senior Data Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The github examples and starter projects are very helpful and cover all basic use cases

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The lack of control of the quality of the apis.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to create an application that will be used during Interviews which means it is critical to get accurate transcriptions.

 ### 25. Accurate, Fast, and Affordable Transcription Services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** zhuang w. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I like that Deepgram's transcription is exceptionally fast and supports extra-long text, eliminating the need for me to segment the audio before processing. Moreover, it offers speaker diarization and automatic punctuation, which are essential features for the product I'm currently working on.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The current state of Chinese transcription is not as good as that of English.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working on an AI-driven Voice Memo APP, which involves a speech-to-text component. I am using Deepgram's service for this functionality.

 ### 26. I love Deepgram!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yuval G. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I like the customer support and the feeling that if there is a problem they will respond fast to it.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Nothing really. it is really great and I will keep using it.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a core part of my core of my product.

 ### 27. Solid docs, performant API

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Community is great. Docs include well explained tutorials and SDK is easy to use. Support responds fast too!

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I have seen updated to on-premise models but API models haven't changed at all since half a year ago. I was expecting more frequent updates. If this is not the case, then they haven't communicated well in their newsletters and blog posts.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a solid API for voice to text transcription for a consumer-facing product. Deepgram was cheaper than the competitors.

 ### 28. We are using our video calls recording transcriptions and its really great experience.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chetan J. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram's speed of transcription and accuracy with it is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Nothing as of now. But if possible generate summary in other languages also other than english.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use deepgram for call transcriptions which gives us summary of the calls and detailed transcript.

 ### 29. Fast, Multilingual, and Accurate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claudio C. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram is super fast and accurate when it comes to transcribing audio. It can handle multiple languages which is really handy. They give you $200 credit to start with, which is pretty generous. It has cool features like transcribing in paragraphs and it's really precise. Plus, their API documentation is easy to understand and use.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The one thing I wish Deepgram could do is transcribe video calls in real time using their API. That would be a really useful feature. But overall, Deepgram is a solid choice for speech-to-text needs.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram is solving the problem of transcribing audio data into text, which is a crucial task in many fields such as customer service, legal compliance, and content creation. It uses AI speech recognition models to provide highly accurate and low latency transcriptions and creating chatbots able to ask questions to transcripts.

 ### 30. Accurate and Fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Violet Y. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The speed of converting speech to text is superb, hence making it suitable for many use cases. The speed of their support is also great!

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Although it already supported more lanugages, but it will be good to increase the list of auto-detect langages so it can be roll out to more countries

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to roll out products that raise the productivity of our clients by at least 70%.

 ### 31. Phenomenal service provided by deepgram

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram's SDK, support team and services are phenomenal. The SDK makes transcribing and processing large amounts of audio files seemless. The support team at Deepgram is excellent, having helped us scale our pipeline to large workloads. They are always available to help.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

There is nothing to dislike about deepgram - their sdk is reliable, easy to use and seemless enables our processing workloads.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Call center processing pipelines. We collect analytics over call center call recordings at scale.

 ### 32. Switching from AWS Transcriber to Deepgram Nova 2

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram offers both whisper and Nova models and has greatly expanded their nova model language offerings since we switched to using Deepgram. Additionally, Deepgram API allows us to use S3 presigned callback url which makes it a lot easier for us to make the transition from AWS transcriber to Deepgram.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Occasionally, Deepgram nova2 transcription errors out for certain languages such as Germany.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcription for different languages, helps us provide more accurate transcriptions at a faster speed

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I like how fast, cheap, accurate, and easy to use the service is. The 200 in free credits is also the main reason why I joined initially.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I wish that the voice sentiment analysis was good (It should really be doing valance, dominance, and arousal). The speaker identification also sucks

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm adding captions to a service and deepgram is what I'm using to transcribe the audio.

 ### 38. Great developer friendly API for anyone who wants to use speech to text features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

The SDK is really good and helped us integrate Deepgram capabilities in a few minutes

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The monitoring experience could be more expressive. As we use Deepgram along with podcasts API or user files, error messages are sometimes difficult to decrypt

Speech to text of Youtube videos, podcasts, audio notes with detection of speakers and a few intelligence features useful in a workflow for categorization

 ### 39. Extremely fast with good accuracy

Deepgram is extremely fast to transcribe and super easy to set up and use. Customer service has been outstanding so far.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Nothing specific to dislike, everything works really well.
The only change I would like to see is to move away from url params to a body message.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram is helping us to transcribe audio from user generated content.

 ### 40. Deepgram worked great for my project!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I like that it does real time transcription with diarization. I also like all of the tutorials and resources available for help.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I had a great experience overall, but it took me awhile to set up the API.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple, easy to use API. It's one of the few fast, reliable, and cheap real time transcription services with diarization.

 ### 41. Great for transcribing meetings with speaker diarisation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin G. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I've been using the API a lot to transcribe long meetings and workshops (2 to 3 hours long). It's very reliable and works well with a variety of accents. I've also found the speaker diarisation (i.e. identify which speaker said what) to be top notch.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

The only issue I had was at the beginning. The documentation wasn't as clear as it could have been to help me get the script working. It would have been useful to have a cookbook with a range of common uses.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me process long meetings for a fraction of the cost of other services and the quality is very good. I've been finding very little loss of nuance and meaning in my transcriptions

 ### 42. Does what it says it does

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

It works as it says it works.
The API is straightforward. As a developer, I appreciate that.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

I believe models (basic/nova/nova2/etc) should be optionals. If not provided, it should use the most advance model

For example: I have been tracking internally to use nova2 for english, and "basic" (or whatever) for spanish

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translating speech to text really fast

 ### 43. Great product. Worse accuracy than whisper but fast streaming

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Support for non-contract users is difficult to obtain.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram transcribes conversations very quickly which allows us to provide our AI outputs to our users for the benefit of our product.

 ### 45. Pretty accurate and fast.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam T. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I like the speed and accuracy for applications in real time phone call ai assistants.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

Sometimes the docs aren't 100% clear and there have been a bug or two which has lead to me finding workarounds.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phone call voice transcription in real time and allows streaming the responses for low latency.

 ### 46. Great product but needs work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saarth S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

1) Extremely easy to setup live transcription
2) Documentation is really helpful and clear
3) Discord server was really helpful

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

1) Endpointing often times is unable to detect speech endings or beathing pauses
2) Accuracy needs a lot of work, especially with call data.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me build my conversational AI agent

 ### 47. Fastest STT for our use-case

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram's speed in converting spoken words to text is truly impressive. This real-time capability allows us to process and transcribe conversations quickly, making it a valuable tool for our operations.

User-friendly interface and API integration make it easy for developers.

Diarization feature is a game-changer. It helps us differentiate between multiple speakers in a conversation, making our transcriptions more organized and meaningful.

Support for telephony codecs, such as Mu-law 8000, is essential for us, as we deal with a variety of audio sources. This versatility ensures we can work with different types of recordings seamlessly.

The availability of a phone call model is a great asset for our use case. It's tailored to handle telephone conversations, resulting in more accurate transcriptions for this specific scenario.

The ability to receive interim results is a big plus. It allows us to get an early glimpse of the transcription, which can be useful for real-time applications. Additionally, the endpointing feature helps us identify the start and end of speech segments accurately.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

While Deepgram's accuracy is commendable, there is room for improvement in the Word Error Rate. In real-time conversations, every word counts, and even a slight inaccuracy can be problematic. Although it's acceptable for our use case, further improvements in this aspect would be highly beneficial.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deepgram is benefiting our organization by providing an efficient, cost-effective, and feature-rich hosted STT solution. It eliminates the need for us to make substantial investments in building and maintaining an in-house STT system, allowing us to focus on our core business activities and providing us with reliable, accurate, and scalable transcription services. This has not only saved us time and resources but also improved the overall quality of our real-time conversation-based applications.

 ### 48. Quality - price

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

Deepgram is the ease of implementation. It's very simple to build a product using Deepgram, and the quality of transcriptions is excellent, especially in English. However, I have encountered several issues with languages like Spanish. They offer some of the best prices in the market.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

What I don't like about Deepgram is the difficulty in handling a large quantity of audio when the language is different from English. Some transcriptions couldn't be generated, and the audio quality with which I built an application wasn't the best. There are other alternatives that provided better transcriptions. Additionally, when I tried to contact the support team to see if there was any solution to this problem, I never received a response. The margin of error wasn't too high compared to the volume of audio we were processing, but for our use case, precision was necessary.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I utilized Deepgram to address the challenges of generating transcriptions for telesales calls, facilitating swift and straightforward audits. Deepgram proves to be an outstanding choice for applications requiring transcription, and it notably offers diarization, a valuable feature particularly useful for contact center applications.

 ### 49. The API excels in ease of use and transcription accuracy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

I've recently had the pleasure of integrating an audio transcription API into our workflow and I must say, I've been thoroughly impressed with its performance. From the get-go, the API documentation was clear and concise, which made the integration process a breeze. The API itself is remarkably intuitive; it easily interprets various audio qualities and accurately transcribes them in a multitude of languages, which was a huge win for our team.

The response time is lightning-fast, which greatly enhances our productivity, and the accuracy of the transcriptions is top-notch, requiring minimal to no post-processing corrections. Additionally, the customer support team deserves a shoutout for their responsiveness and helpfulness, providing swift and effective solutions whenever needed.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

While the functionality of the audio transcription API left little to be desired, there's room for improvement in the user interface, particularly the log section. The current log interface is not as user-friendly as it could be, with filters and search capabilities feeling somewhat clunky and less intuitive than the rest of the system. This makes tracking down specific jobs more time-consuming than necessary.

Furthermore, the absence of a feature to directly query usage costs via the API is a noticeable omission. Having an option to retrieve cost-related data would aid in real-time budget monitoring and resource allocation. Incorporating this feature would add an extra layer of convenience, allowing for better planning and management of transcription expenses within the same ecosystem.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it in a Micro SaaS for transcribing podcast episodes.

 ### 50. Affordable & fast speech to text api

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Deepgram?**

It's agressively priced compared to its peers and arguably faster.

**What do you dislike about Deepgram?**

At times, it misses certain words owing to background noise or weak audio but hopeful it'll improve as the models improve.

**What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using the Deepgram API to convert speech to text from long audio files.
