# Concept3D vs Mappedin for campus wayfinding: which do facility managers find easier to keep updated as buildings change?

When I was researching digital wayfinding on G2 for keeping a campus map current as buildings change, Concept3D is the better-evidenced choice, so I'd lead with it. Its higher-ed reviewers describe exactly this workflow, while Mappedin has only a handful of G2 reviews, so I'd judge it in a demo rather than on user evidence.

Concept3D (4.5 stars, 115 reviews): Facility and web teams update the map themselves with no coding and consolidate old static maps into one system they maintain. The one caveat from a large-campus admin is that wayfinding routes are drawn manually and can get tedious at scale, with some data duplicated between systems.

Mappedin (4.5 stars, 5 reviews): Built around easy indoor map updates. Few G2 reviews and none specifically about campus update workflow, so I'd put it through a hands-on demo before trusting it at scale.

Best way to settle it: demo both on your real scenario, add a building, reroute the paths, and time how long each takes. Facility managers who've used either, how painful was keeping it current as campus changed?

The add-a-building test in your post is the right one, and I'd add a wrinkle: ask each vendor to run it with your floor plans, not their polished demo campus. The 3D-render-first tools tend to look better and cost more per change, while the mapping-data-first tools update cheaper but flatter. Which pain you prefer depends on who's watching: admissions wants the render, facilities wants the cheap update. Whoever owns the budget after year one should make the call.
