  ### 11. Easy to use and collate information

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The dashboard contains the most important and relevant information as soon you log in. However there a wealth of other options and setups that allow you to keep all of your records and documents in an organised manner

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Could be easier to integrate with other services, such as automatic notification systems. This would allow members to control when they receive call out information. Could also me a cost saving as you only pay for messages to active members!

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows you to keep track of all equipment and maintenance. Could be a real headache to maintain this information elsewhere!

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your feedback!

Feel free to send over some more information on your notification system to support@d4h.org so we can take a look at what's possible. I've also linked our existing notification integrations below in case they're of interest :)

  ### 12. Quality software to keep our team informed, up to date, and information organized.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Ease of use with retaining all our information, training documents, calendar of past and future events. The dashboard interface lets you see what trainings/activities are upcoming, latest events, latest incidents, etc. A very nice thing to be able to look at in a glance to get up to date. You can view past trainings to see what was missed/attended by specific personnel.
Communication with specific groups from within the program is very convenient. Leadership is able to message out to just the attendees of an upcoming training/event to keep the information flowing in an easy manner.
Overall it is a very easy/intuitive platform to use. Minimal training was given to us on how to properly navigate the site and we were still able to get tasks done effectively inside.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The mobile interface is not as useable as the desktop version. Would be nice to see full functionality inside the app for the program for iOS as more and more things become mobile in our day to day lives. Perhaps we could see functionality where you can snap a picture of something with the camera and upload that directly into folders. Being able to easily view the calendar with future and past events or filtering events would be a nice thing as well.

In addition, the organization of some information is confusing if not laid out properly from the beginning. This can be avoided with good preplanning of the use of the software. This is not an issue in our organization, but I can see it as a flaw for companies who do not spend time investigating this before implementation.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

This is a nice piece of software from an end users perspective. Things are laid out well, on a desktop version, for me to be able to glance at and see what is coming next for me or things that I need to respond to. A good option to consider for your agency.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In D4H we can accept invites that we are scheduled for within our respective training groups. It shows all who can/ cannot attend the training allowing forecasting of what can be accomplished at our trainings and how many people can be expected there. It also provides a central repository for our training documents and certifications.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for such a comprehensive review, Josh!

We're adding that functionality to take a photo on your mobile and upload it directly into a folder very soon!

  ### 13. Hazardous Materials Response Team use of D4H

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H is a necessity in regards to the operation, organization, and readiness of our team. D4H accurately tracks our members, our equipment and resources. With D4H, we are able to track calibration records, get instant notifications when equipment and calibrations are due, get reminders when supplies are running short, and keep personal records up to date. D4H does a phenomenal job of providing a platform for effective report writing and cost recovery

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Just like any other computer based application D4H does take sometime to learn to be efficient with, but I have found that for most individuals it is a very quick learning process

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With our team being regionalized and deploying in an "as needed" basis, D4H allows us to always be ready. Our members know when operational and equipment checks are due, current inventory, and training/excercise schedules all with a quick check on the teams homepage. D4H allows members to have access to our equipment, records, and all other resources without having to physically being in the same location.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for sharing such excellent feedback, Christopher!

It's great to hear how D4H helps your HazMat team maintain a constant state of readiness.

  ### 14. Top Notch Product with Excellent Tech Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Anne Arundel - Annapolis Community Emergency Response Team switched over to D4H in the fall of 2015 from a similar product. We immediately noticed how logical it is laid out and how easy it was to enter information and upload images. Our primary objective at that time was to track members' training, certifications, and qualifications including keeping copies of current certificates. We also wanted to track missions but that was secondary until we began to use it. Mission tracking is easy! When members respond available and accept an assignment it automatically adds them to the mission. We can track the hours very easily and given the built-in cost calculator, estimate the annual dollar amount our volunteers contribute. For instance, in the current COVID-19 Panademic we know that the dollar amount donated so far by our members is approaching $108,000. This is a valuable tool when reporting the information to our Emergency Managers and when seeking grants.
It is also very easy to track equipment that is assigned to members and to keep track of our equipment inventory. This is a feature that we have used very little but are planning on adding all of our inventory and even disposables such as PPE.
A HUGE advantage is the cost, it is affordable to a non-profit like us where we get ZERO dollars from any jurisdiction, we rely 100% on donations.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

I would like to see a "lite" version that is locally based and not dependant on the cloud or internet. We sometimes work in areas where there is no cellular service and/or no power. If there was a method of having information stored locally and then sync to the cloud it would be a great improvement.
Integrating the Incident Command System and accountability would be another great improvement. While accountability is doable it is overall accountability. I'd like to see individual Division, Branch, Taskforce have individual accountability.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Try it before making a decision on another product. We did and the decision was easy.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can track most events on an ICS board. Pre-planning and tracking individual member data has been our goal from the beginning and I can think of none better than D4H. If we need SAR members, members with a specific skill or knowledge then it can be tracked in D4H.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for such an in-depth review, Paul! Great to hear how D4H has helped with your team tracking.

Be sure to check out our Knowlege Base (support.d4h.org) for tips and tricks as you get fully up and running on D4H Equipment Management.

Our Incident Management product might be a fit for the ICS side of things that you mentioned. I've linked it below, don't hesitate to reach out if you'd be interested in discussing further :)

  ### 15. Implementing D4H across a Region.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H Readiness and Response is intuitive to use and staff can get on and use it with out significant training. This also means that minimal staff time is required start using the pregame and to maintain competency. Where a staff member has forgotten to do a process it is easy to remind them of what to do.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Not having a text editor is a limitation for us. The use of color text would be a great addition.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

D4H is easy to use and provides us with an off the shelf product that works.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a common platform in many of our EOC (soon to be all of them) means that we are all on the same path. Staff can easily be shared across our nine EOC with out retraining. We now have reliability in our incident management software, in the D4H 'just works' where as our previous software regularly 'broke'.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for the great feedback, James!

I've put in a feature request for the colour text, it would be a great addition to the software :)

  ### 16. D4H fulfils needs well

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Ability to view available resources at a glance is beneficial

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

requires status updates, occasionally shows people available who are out of town on vacation

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

centralized communication with all participants

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for the feedback, great to hear D4H has improved your teams communication and coordination!

  ### 17. D4H : The Effective resolve to personnel/equipment management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The easiness of use for every type of person is incredible. The style of creating manageable equipment modules and tracking are truly remarkable.
From inspections, moving of equipment, tracking training and delegation of roles within teams are impeccable and easy to use. The quickness of the D4H staff to help when you have an issue ! Apps from Google Play and iOS are making it way more user friendly. The document portfolio has so many uses within incidents but would be nice to also to build a file structure. Making it even better if it could evolve into a Windows tree type of platform for accessing documents rather than individual folders !

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The flexibility of some of the expansion for administrators rather than having to always delve into coding from the Engineering end. Adding things like multiple roles for personnel has been a key issue and I am sure that any organization would like that flexibility. The flexibility to encompass different timelines for weekly inspections etc.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Definitely reach out to those out there that are using the product platform. While you might get biased information in the end there is a reason for the bias, and that is that D4H works !

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking our instrumentation inspections not just in one station or truck but multiple. Tracking training, qualifications and incidents are so much smoother now than ever before. Usage of smartphone applications are making it easier for everyone to use. We started with Hazmat and hopefully we can branch this truly effective system to all of our assets and branches within our organization. Looking at qualifications for every member to build timelines for succession planning and training priorities was certainly helped by using the data. Looking at business plans for procuring vehicles, data helped bolster the argument for what and how the vehicles were responding and being used.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for such a comprehensive review, Doug - and for recommending D4H so highly!

You can assign multiple roles to personnel on an activity report. Would that cover what you need? I've linked an article below that might be useful.

  ### 18. D4H Keeps our team running efficiently

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Lead Coxswain & Procurements Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

That everything is in one place, equipment, personnel, incidents, training, all in one application, not many scattered about trying to make them all talk to one another. Our training manager can check on qualifications, our HR manager on attendance, equipment manager on maintenance, and we can collate statistics on incidents and callouts for use in our publicity and when dealing with government agencies.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Nothing, having run our team on D4H since we founded it in 2014 D4H has helped immeasurably.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

The sooner you use D4H the easier it is, our team started off using D4H at the outset, sister teams have huge amounts of legacy information which would be fairly long winded to migrate.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing a team of volunteers, with a myriad of training and qualification requirements which get audited by third parties, loads of equipment which again gets audited and needs to be maintained and that maintenance documented. As a charity (non profit) we need to be able to collate incident details and statistics both for our own marketing and publicity and also when speaking to government agencies.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you! It's great to get such positive feedback from a long-time user like yourself, Mark!

  ### 19. Search Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug C. | Steward, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The dashboard layout of the system is very easy to navigate on a desktop computer and provides a significant amount of information that is vital to understanding team capacity at a glance. The reporting options provide significant information that we have used to submit compliance reports to our municipal and provincial governments.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

There needs to be improvements to either a mobile-enabled website that works on various platforms and screen sized. Alternatively a more robust app that allows more functions.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Take the time to do a complete setup of the product, this will make your life so much easier.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The [D4H] Platform has saved my team countless hours in administration for our volunteer team. The equipment module has streamlined our asset management, we now have detailed tracking of repairs and costs which are used to complete the reporting process required of our government oversight. The ease of use has helped increase the compliance of members completing routine tasks on the system which in turn has made our team safer and more efficient. Volunteers want to do the work they have a passion for not the administration behind it.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your review, Doug! It's great to hear how D4H has made your team more time-efficient :)

We've recently done a complete revamp of our mobile apps, with older versions discontinued. I've linked them below so you can ensure you have the most up to date versions.

  ### 20. User of all D4H Technologies Proucts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dale R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The most helpful aspect of the D4H suite of products is the customer service. The folks at D4H Tech are always very quick and responsive to any issues that I might have. They go above and beyond to ensure that we have a good experience and that we are making full use of the products. We have made suggestions for improvements and they were incorporated. And the customer service doesn't end with the sales rep - it goes all the way to the company President who is constantly involved in the sevice.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

I can safely say that I have never been disappointed with the D4H products or the company support to the customer. There are no dislikes.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

When I first signed up we had a 30 day free trial. If it is offered, take it and try it out. It took me an afternoon to make up my mind and to subscribe.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage a lot of data, from volunteer management, exercise and training activities, qualifications, equipment inventory and assignments, and real world situational awareness. We used to have a dozen unconnected spreadsheets to track it all. Now we use D4H to manage everything and all the data is linked. I can track who attended what activity, received what qualifications and was assigned what piece of equipment. I can receive damage assessment reports from the field and can make decisions instead of spending time inputting data.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for such a positive review, Dale! I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to our Support Team.

  ### 21. Game changer for Record management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H allows us to capture hundreds of data points on each emergency and translates that data into usable information for planning, budgeting etc... We were trying, and failing, to capture information in spreadsheets before but now we have a single source of truth for all of our information on Incidents, events, exercises personnel and equipment.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

While robust I wish the automatic reports and charts were a little more customizable. I would like to use the charts for a certain time frame and see trends change over time.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Look into the ease of input as well as the quality of outputs. If your emergency responders are filling in forms on every event you will miss information. We discovered in a data review before implementing D4H that there are 11 different ways of writing the name of our local hospital, all correct. The problem doesn't show up until you query how many times you transported a patient to that hospital and then have to go in and clean up all of the data. D4H gives them a check box to click for the hospital transport.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer have inventory issues, we are easily able to look up volunteer contributions, not just on emergencies but on other aspects like helping out on training days. We have gained insights into both our paid emergency staff and our volunteers that have dramatically changed our retention rates lowering our training costs and improving engagement.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for such a great review, Kyle! Great to hear D4H has provided a single central location for your organization's data.

Thanks for the feedback regarding reports as well, I'll pass it onto the team.

  ### 22. Great support for a Voluntary Organisation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian E. | Sr. Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H is used by every member to track attendance at incidents, training and events they also use it to track qualifications and availability. This allows the management team to know exactly who is and isn't available for an incident. The ability to use the desktop version for reporting and analysis adds extra functionality and information at the finger tips of the team leaders. This helps especially with new intakes and tracking their individual competencies during their probationary period.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The mobile app 'personnel' is a little flaky at times ad doesn't always show the correct details for an event or attendance at a call out. Sometimes it feels like all the effort goes into the 'full' product and the voluntary version gets second attention. As a commercial organisation I under stand their focus but it is also something we rely on day in day out. I look forward to future releases of the mobile solutions to hopefully address some of the current shortfalls.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

If your looking for a solution to assist your team with day to day running and analysis look no further you won't know what you did without it.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now track all of our assets within D4H including hardware and vehicle information. This enables us to know the history and details of any inspections repairs etc that has been carried out allowing for a full audit trail.

We are also using it to track our probationary intake and track the required competencies before they are on boarded to the rescue team, it also supports decisions to not take candidates forward and is used as a great feedback loop for these decisions.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for the feedback, Julien! Great to hear D4H has helped with your team's personnel and asset management.

We recently discontinued the old Personnel App and replaced it with a brand new one. I've linked it below just in case that's the issue :)

  ### 26. D4H for SAR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H is an amazing tool to organize members for SAR teams and manage their qualifications to ensure they are renewed before their expiration date. It is also valuable to ensure equipment remains operational and serviced.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

It takes a lot of work up front to get the equipment side operational. It is suited very well for organizations with employees, for volunteers it is a lot, but the benefits are worth it

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Training/qualification tracking, equipment maintenance and repairs. System provides reminders and helps ensure things aren't forgotten

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for a great review!

  ### 27. D4H user experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Equipment and qualifications can be logged really easily. Renewals and expiration dates can be added so a notification is sent to users when they need to do kit checks or carry out a CPD course.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The user interface could look a little more modern.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

I would highly recommend it to other search and rescue organisations.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My search and rescue team uses D4h for logging equipment, qualifications and incidents. The ability to go through and highlight assets used makes writing incident reports a lot easier.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for a great review and for recommending D4H so highly to other SAR teams!

  ### 28. D4H is changing emergency management, as Xero did for accounting - It is a game changer for EM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve G. | Director , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Hybrid local/cloud functionality given 100% confidence to use regardless of internet connectivity
Easy to make adjustments and create new templates/information boards on the fly during a response
Minimal computer skills needed - if you know emergency management and can use a browser, its easy
GIS integration and full audit log for after action review
Flexible for different types of emergencies and agencies
Able to share with partner agencies with live links
Your agency's processes drive how you set up D4H, not the other way around - the tail is not wagging the dog
Secure encrypted data for security

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

There is not much to like. If you are still using an excel spreadsheet in your EOC, then you are back in the 1980s and need to get into the 21st century.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interagency information sharing is a breeze now, before agencies had systems that only their own staff could access. Now we have a neutral and common platform that we can all share and access during an emergency, from in the field to back in the EOC. Real time data is created to allow for better crisis decision making.

**Official Response from Robin Blandford:**

> Steve - thank you so much for this review. You are very good.

  ### 29. One platform to track all our important data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle N. | Training Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

One platform that tracks and monitors all our pertinent data, from training to equipment management and logging repairs and expired gear.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Limitations in the mobile app. Sometimes the app is slow to refresh data.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

The system has revolutionized how we record and track data.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One central platform to track and monitor all operations with our unit.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you Kyle, happy to hear D4H has helped with the team's data management!

I'll pass that feedback about the mobile app to the relevant team. Feel free to send some more info to support@d4h.org.

  ### 30. Perfect for those with poor memory and worse record keeping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The ability to add in support info and tracking numbers to show lack or amount of service hours.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Not able to do simple attachments and ability for an easy tax report.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Absolutely the best system to use to support your members. Especially with training, hours served, and data fact gathering.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A particular contact for our area and group is awesome.
Use it to clean house. Data proves people who do not meet expectations

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you very much for your balanced review!

  ### 31. Works well

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crispin M. | Team member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about D4H?**

It allows us to track qualifications, equipment and training.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Difficult to store training videos to allow others to access them.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping track of qualifications, equipment and training.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for taking the time to review D4H, Crispin! I'll note your feedback with the team.

  ### 32. Great way to link our emergency response team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Like choice of text, email, or phone contact. Great way to link up SAR team from various locations to ensure a timely response to SAR call outs.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

some members have reported being dropped from databaseS

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

linking members from various locations to coordinate quick response time. Ability to see which members are available for a callout and connect with them.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your review, great to hear D4H has improved your SAR team's communication!

Don't hesitate to reach out to support@d4h.org with some more info on your members being dropped so we can investigate this for you.

  ### 33. D4H is great for managing a team of emergency responders

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Easy to add members, create incidents and events, add members to them. Can add custom fields to members and incidents for organisation requirements . Equipment management function is excellent. Bulk uploading members via CSV works well. Bulk download of CSV also works well.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The equipment management is complex and takes a bit to learn, but it meet requirements.
Custom reporting function has limited options.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintaining accurate up to date list of members accessible to all that need to see them. Reducing data entry and duplication - all required information is now available in one place. Common format for documenting and reporting on incidents. Member activity now accurately record and available via standard reports.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for this review, Peter! Great to hear D4H has simplified some of your team's processes.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you think you might benefit from some support with D4H Equipment Management.

  ### 34. Using D4H to manage a National Drone SAR organisation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

- The alerts on equipment and qualifications.
- The ability to create custom tags to allow us to query where our deficiencies are for future training and also where to allocate our future budget.
- Team members being able to mark themselves on and off call using the mobile app.
- The flags on the dashboard that tell us when we're short of on-call personnel so that we can make the necessary changes.
- Using the repairs module to assign a drone repair to an individual and then having that record attached to the drone itself for future inspections.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The initial data entry but that is to be expected with any management system.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had no clear view of the different types of drones and equipment we had nationally and had even less idea of what condition it was in it. This is all cleared up through the use of the Equipment Management module.

Our operators were at risk of lapsing on their qualifications and managing large scale re-certification was difficult. We use D4H to track when the recertification is due and also for arranging the training courses which the members then attend.

Reports on searches were kept but there was no standardized way of doing and therefore no meaningful data was produced. We now use the D4H Incident Reports to keep a structured report that must be filled in by our members after each search. This gives us meaningful data that can be used in decision making going forward.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Great to hear D4H has helped with your Drone SAR team management, thank you for such a comprehensive review!

  ### 35. Great product for our rescue team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

We tried some of the other apps and we feel D4H had the best incident, exercise, and member tracking features. And the fact that it is mobile device friendly was very important to our team. We use it track our equipment usage and Member qualifications as well.
From a support perspective, the D4H team is super responsive. I requested a minor change to a report a few months ago and Robin responded and fixed it in 10 minutes.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

I feel the Document storage area is a bit limited in space and functionality, however I think some of our members are trying to use it like a file server which is not what it is

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly need D4H to track our mission and training details, hours spent by each member, and equipment used. Our previous application was very difficult to use and when we tried to run our yearly reports we had to export it all to excel and put it all together manually. With D4H the reporting is built in.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Delighted to hear the team has found the software to be so user friendly, thanks for your review!

We have some options to add on additional storage to your account and we're always happy to advise, so don't hesitate to get in touch!

  ### 36. Valuable tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff B. | Underground Services Tech, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

I like the ability especially during a global pandemic to have multiple people using and updating system as per their positions at various locations

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

It is not a dislike just an awareness requirement that need internet access to be able to real-time update. If you do not it is held on the device until able to update

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Take a trial and put it through the toughest possible incident you have or would have to manage and see how it does. Ask questions and get clarifications as Robin and crew are super helpful

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping speed up responses as some people can go forward while others are behind updating the assignments for teams in the field

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for the great review, Jeff :) Glad to hear you've found it helpful during COVID-19 with so many people spread across various locations!

  ### 37. Excellent system to manage a rescue team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

I like the fact that the system is developed from the ground up to meet the needs of organisations like mine. The dashboard view gives me everything that I need quickly in one place.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

It's not easy to exclude groups of people from some of the standard reports.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

This is a great system with a lot of features. Plan out how you will implement a few features at a time.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing a rescue team we need to look at things from different points of view, how many man hours, who has trained, where are the rescues, these questions and many more are very easy to review once the data is recorded in D4H.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for taking the time to review D4H, Kevin! Your feedback is really appreciated!

  ### 38. Outstanding program for Bomb Squads

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

D4H is genrally intuitive as well as comprehensive. We track all of our several million dollars worth of inventory with it, as well as the maintenance and repairs to that equipment. In addition we use it to track of our mandated training and on-call status for personnel. The reports developed are easy to generate and impress the administration with their appearance. We also utilize the apps on our phones on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Sometimes it can be difficult to get small additions to thing like scheduling periods implemented. We realize that programmers have a lot on their plate, but it creates having to set on-call schedules for each individual day instead of just setting a pattern.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our inventory and maintenance control used to be done on an excel sheet and was a clumsy effort, at best. Now we easily can see the status and location of every item in the inventory. Also, our training records are completed in far less time and gaps in training topics are readily identified and corrected.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review D4H, Thomas!

  ### 39. D4H's role in supporting Search and Rescue in British Columbia, Canada

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Their ability to customize their products to address our needs has been outstanding. The way the 'Dashboard' is laid out makes it easy for users to navigate the product.

We have been able to customize access to the Org Account for partner agencies, so that they only see what is important to them.

Being able to communicate to specific sub-groups within the 2,500 SAR volunteer base has vastly improved our ability to reach target audiences with vital information.

It's as if D4H Readiness and Response has become the glue that bonds our members together.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

In some specific cases it wasn't possible to address every single and often 'quirky' requirement that was peculiar to the British Columbia Search and Rescue's relationship with Emergency Management British Columbia. However, D4H have made every effort to provide a solution.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving a multitude of challenges with D4H. SAR groups in British Columbia respond to over 1,700 incidents each year, but it used to be almost impossible to generate the data involved in these activities; now we can do that with the click of a mouse. We also know exactly how many volunteers are active and what their qualifications are; this has made financial planning much simpler and efficient.

It wasn't easy to get 2,500 unpaid volunteers to 'buy into' a new on-line system, but with the help of D4H and their support resources, we have been able to get full compliance with 77 of the 79 user (SAR) groups.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> What a fantastic review, thank you!

  ### 40. User friendly, very nice program.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Tracking system for training, incident response, equipment maintenance.

Automatic alert on maintenance requirements.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

App is little more difficult to use in comparison to the main web.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

If app becomes little more user friendly, that would be nice.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking member qualifications and keeping up on renewal

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for your feedback!

  ### 41. So far, so good!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The D4H platform is robust but simple. The user interface is practical and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Takes a bit to get used to the support center but it's great to have that resource to begin with. Love help desk tickets!!!!

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily personnel and training records, then incident reporting. Equipment managment is a really great "nice to have". Still implementing our Incident Management features.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your review! Always happy to help over at the help desk ;)

  ### 42. A very usable bit of kit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

I like that it is outwardly practical and easy to learn the basics for the majority of the EOC staff that have so far been exposed to it. It was most;y set up for us when we brought the system. The D4H YouTube channel is a great place to go if you have any problems you need to sort.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

It doesn't really come with how to use manual - it is a bit trial by fire.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Hurunui District Council (North Canterbury, New Zealand) used D4H successfully during the COVID-19 pandemic only just recently having purchased the system (we'd only had it for 30 days before we needed to really use it)
It is a full depository for the whole event - no need to have different systems and structures that you need to backwards and forwards to to retrieve info.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Wow, it's great to hear you had such a successful short-notice deployment of D4H for COVID-19!

Thanks for your feedback, I've linked our new Quick Start Guides below.

  ### 43. Great for any platform

**What do you like best about D4H?**

I like that I can access any part of the system from any device

I wish that the site could be more easily accessed through the app

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking attendance and availability are the most useful features to me

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your feedback!

Easy to use once you have learned it.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

  ### 45. Clackamas County Search and Rescue

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darryn K. | Deputy Sheriff/ Search and Rescue Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

Easy to track personnel and their qualifications.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

Takes a little bit to enter all the information (IE equipment for personnel)

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Training files were spread all over now they are together in one program. Quicker at notifying individuals of expiration dates. Keeping up on inventory and routine maintenance.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your review, Darryn!

  ### 46. Great Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The fact that it is all in one tool and the easy layout for users

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The equipment inventory portion could be improved

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All in one tool and metrics

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thanks for your feedback! We'd be happy to take a look at any feature requests for D4H Equipment Management - support@d4h.org is the best place for this.

  ### 47. Director, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

The ability to call when we need assistance. I don't believe we are using the system to its full potential yet but have improved upon our process greatly.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The system is very, almost too precise. When entering items into the system, if not exact (reversing order of the words, a dash versus no dash) the system does not recognize the item and creates a new one. This was an initial headache when building the system.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With regard to inventory, we are now at a point where we can tell where an object is at any given time within the system. Incident reporting is now seamless and organized, as members have bought into the system and several trainings have been helpful.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> It's really great to hear how D4H has improved your Hazmat operations!

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you would like to organize some refresher training. Our Customer Success team is on hand to make sure you're getting the most out of your subscription :)

  ### 48. A one stop shop for managing response volunteers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about D4H?**

You can store all the information you need about your team of response volunteers in one place. You can give people relevant access to the data dependent on their roles and the team are quick to answer support queries.

**What do you dislike about D4H?**

The reporting functions are simple at a basic level but I often struggle to get more complex data out in the form I want. It might be I need a bit of training.

**Recommendations to others considering D4H:**

Have a look at the how to videos and if possible see a working solution to see what you can build.

**What problems is D4H solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintaining a database of volunteer details, training and attendance.
Once you have the hang of it it really is simple.

**Official Response from Amy Brennan:**

> Thank you for all the positive feedback! Great to hear D4H is working well as a personnel and qualification management system for your team.

We'd be happy to go through the reports with you and make sure you're getting the most out of them :) If you reach out to support@d4h.org one of the team will be in touch.

**What do you like best about D4H?**
