There are so many things we love about Bolster. The ability to offer clients different options and upgrades within the same estimate saves us from having to create multiple versions of a proposal. Having all of our sales information organized in one place also makes managing opportunities and projects much easier.

Another major improvement has been payments. We went from collecting checks from clients throughout the life of a project to easily requesting and tracking payments online. The visibility and traceability of every payment has been a huge benefit.

And I almost forgot one of our favorite features: Change Work Orders! No more getting to the end of a project and trying to figure out which change orders were approved, what was included, and how much was still owed. What I like most about Bolster is how well it is designed for the construction industry. It gives us the ability to create detailed estimates, organize different scopes of work, adjust pricing, and present everything to the client in a very professional format.

Bolster has a lot of advanced features, so there is a learning curve at the beginning. Some parts of the platform can take time to fully understand and set up properly. I love Bolster's cutting-edge approach and their constant innovation. Their fantastic customer service really stands out to me, especially Alex, the customer service rep, who is spot on with service and quick to respond. Instead of jumping around between Excel and paper notes and a handful of other software's that all don't work together, everything is under one roof. It has made it significantly easier to keep track of everything happening on my different sites with my crews and my subs. I also like the time I have saved by using the templates allowing me to do my quotes much faster, for example a bathroom reno that normally takes a couple hours to quote I can whip out in under 20 minutes. There aren't really any downsides, the support team is fantastic and they are constantly adding and refining features. I will as an older guy it did take me awhile to get up to speed and get the full Bolster effect, but once I was there and everything was built out, the effort was worth it! When I started out in the construction industry everything was on paper or an excel spreadsheet. I love the way Bolster has taken that and built it into a software that understands all the features a GC needs. From the interactive proposals making it easier to do change orders through to being able to effectively manage my pipeline from lead to invoice with its integration with quickbooks! I like the new feel and concept of Bolster, being able to deliver a DYNAMIC "Good, Better, Best" option for my clients. Other competitors also offer this, but the function is not nearly there as far as how fluid they are. The pipeline feature that bolster has is not as customizable as I'd like to see. In similar products, you have a lot more freedom to change the way your pipeline looks, IE- more columns, split by groups/region, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are a small company that installs custom bathrooms in the Ottawa ares.

Given that the software is fairly new we have discovered many bugs along the way.

Software was extremely clunky and price templates did not update properly. Payment platform is not well integrated and took forever to link. Customer service is atrocious and absolutely not on your side.

They will do everything in their power to lock you into a year contract, and then when their software underperforms and is virtually unusable, they will tell you it’s your fault for signing the contract. They don’t care whether or not you’re happy with their insufficient product.
