Cohesity is a comprehensive approach in matters back up, but the deployment procedure becomes very complex for small teams
The licensing for Cohesity feels expensive and some companies opt out this software

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 2. Simplicity and Reliability in Data Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nur Sema A. | systems development engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

My favorite thing about it is how it really simplifies the backup process. Instead of juggling different tools, you can manage everything from a single platform. The interface is also very intuitive, so it saves a lot of time in daily use.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

At times, the interface can feel a bit complex when dealing with advanced features, especially for new users, which creates a steeper learning curve. Also, after certain updates, there can occasionally be minor performance or compatibility issues, although they are usually resolved fairly quickly.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity primarily solves the problem of data fragmentation. In traditional environments, backup, archiving, security, and analytics are often handled by separate systems, which increases complexity, cost, and risk. Cohesity brings these functions together into a single platform, making data more visible, manageable, and secure.

  ### 3. Cohesity is modern backup solution with an intuitive interface.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

I really like how seamlessly Cohesity integrates with M365 to backup evrything from its mailboxes to OneDrive, to everything in betwen. Another Cohesity application that i, equally, like is Helios. The integration between Helios and the Cohesity console makes remote management of the cluster smooth and secure.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The one aspect of Cohesity i, somewhat, dislike is its inablity to detect when user account have been disabled to automatically stoll backip up the disabled account. Instead, it sends an email at set intervals until you go and manually removed the user from the protection group. I think that is a setting that should have been imbedded.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity is helping aligning our technologoy stack with our stated company sanction BCDR plan.

  ### 4. Fast New UI and spanFS, but Support and NetBackup Integration Need Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

new UI, spanFS, fast system performance, new features

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

quality of support, won't integrate Netbackup features, build more hardware because of hyperconvergent solution.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Next business day BCS replacements finishing usually after 5-8 workdays.

  ### 5. Excellent and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben S. | Senior Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

All in one backup solution that has a single poing of contact for support.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

A little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity allwys us to backup at a VM level, a file level, and all our applications like MSSQL, Active Directory, and Exchange.

  ### 6. Cohesity: Simplifying Backup with Powerful Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Misbahuddin M. | Specialist Data Center, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Cohesity Backup and Recovery is a modern data protection platform designed to simplify and unify backup, recovery, and ransomware defense across hybrid environments. In my experience, it delivers powerful performance and ease of use, making complex backup tasks more manageable

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The initial setup can be complex and requires careful planning.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity solves the problem of managing fragmented backups across multiple platforms, providing a unified system that simplifies administration and reduces errors.

  ### 7. Cohesity is the ONE you want on your side!!!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn R. | Platform Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

We started with Cohesity physical appliances for production and DR, and then we add Backup as a Service to our environment to handle all of our cloud items. The Helios interface is simple and easy to use. I have secure remote access to my Cohesity environment at any time. The UI is friendly and easy to use, and give me one pane of glass to controll all of the appliance units and the BaaS.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I have none. We have been very pleased with the product and its capabilities.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time was our orignal issue that we were trying to fix. Our previous backup solution was not able to get all of our systems backed up in a 24 hour time period. We add more appliances and still had issues. We moved to Cohesity and everything is completed in a timely manner. Another issue with time, was around restores. We have monthly requirements were various systems have to be tested each month for recovery. These recovery test were taking a couple days to complete and then document for various yearly audits. When we started using Cohesity, my restore time became minutes. Now my documentation takes longer than testing the restores.

  ### 8. Helios has its place, but proceed with caution.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Centralized Reporting and a Single pane of glass for all clusters.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The fact it is available from anywhere. If the clusters are not setup for read-only, it would be very easy to exfiltrate data; this is quite concering.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Single pane of glass for all clusters

  ### 9. Cohesity Is A Blend Of Operational Efficieny And Cost Effectiveness

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pranav S. | Lead Engineer - Cloud operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

We started with a single cohesity box and ended up with 8 systems ... Cohesity is a blend of cost effective storage designed for secondary or archival data as well as integrates well with number of other systems like Vmware, Pure storage or AWS with API's available to the user. Backing up VM's , indexing data and restoring data is a bliss and lightening fast. At the same time the data compression and dedup is robust and best in the category of secondary storage.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Initially the software releases were too frequent as the product was still evolving and they were doing too many changes and feature releases at short notice. We had to do frequent code upgrades to keep up with the development pace.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped save us retire our old back up tools and tape libraries. Significant savings when we migrated the archival and less frequently accessed data from our tier 1 storage including the repositories and file servers. We can backup several type of data sets including virtual machines on Vmware, RDM's, physical servers, EC2 instances and what not from the same console.

  ### 10. Robust Solution For All BCDR Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** EJ B. | Infrastructure Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Very user friendly UI in an extremely robust system. You have complete control over the appliances from a single pane of glass.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

There is currently no way backup based on a calendar date. To register a database for backing up you need to register the virtual server as a physical one, then register the database.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity gives me peace of mind when it comes to quickly viewing all of my appliances' health and all of the data they have backed up, replicated, and archived.

  ### 11. Robust and reliable backups that just work.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent R. | Systems Engineer/Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Cohesity is a solid and consistent backup solution. Implementation was simple, and we were backing up in less than 2 hours. The interface is easy to use and simple to understand. Cohesity backups and restores just work. We test backups periodically and they always work without issues.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Early implementations of multi-factor authentication were a bit buggy. Cohesity has since resolved those issues and now it is working well.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity has given us a hardware and software backup solution, with remote DR and cloud backups that address business continuity concerns. This provides a solid backup strategy and distributes data in a way that protects our company data in case of disaster.

  ### 12. Data Resiliency features are substantial for Amazon S3 & Glacier cloud archive using Cohesity Helios

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mounika C. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Cohesity Helios has the capabilities of converting all our standalone instances to Virtual machines with few clicks. In addition, it provides an intuitive user console that can be accessed with minimum prerequisites. We can also contact its support team using its built-in chat option for resolving simple pitstops. Licensing management is also effectively handled for all our backup servers.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

It would be excellent to have some enhancements in its automated backup services. Apart from this, all other features are impressive, especially its web interface that allows our clients to retrieve files without interacting with our application servers directly. All our Full load backups & incremental operations can be performed with ease in the Cohesity Helios platform.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We set up backup files & data replication jobs without complications & time constraints through Cohesity Helios. Downtime of our servers is well managed through its replication feasibility & whenever the central server fails, a second server is automatically made available. We can also enable its screenshot verification option, which automatically sends a notification to our customers as soon as their backup activity is complete. Also, Cohesity Helios effectively resolves multiple backup conflicts and improves data resiliency & data deduplication for all our AWS environments.

  ### 13. Cohesitey saves time and money with minimum fuss

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomasz S. | ICT MAnager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Easy, straightforward setup, no issues managing protection. Easy access to all increments, quick restore.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Absolutely nothing, nada, none, zero complains

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Office 365 backup, offline backup and immutable backup.

  ### 14. neutral

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Shows all clusters in one page. Backups work most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Fundamental features do not work properly from the UI ( such as updating agents ) although it will say it is "working" it will never complete in a lot of cases.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are a couple of reports that Helios has that the console's themselves do not have, but I would like to see way more canned reports that we can use to analyze our data.

  ### 15. Helios is Secure and Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

I can manage multiple backup sites and manage at scale

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The login is required with MFA just to access the documentation

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reliable backups and ease of management

  ### 16. Cohesity Helios complete backup product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaspreet S. | Consultant - Storage, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Virtualization backup through APIs is very smooth, no need for any proxy, includes replication & backup copy, centralized license management through Helios.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Push installation of agents from the Cohesity interface would be an added advantage.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

less storage requirement due to better deduplication ration, high level of redundancy with node-level failure.

  ### 17. Cohesity Helios

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Helios is a great way to view multiple Cohesity Clusters and locations. You can gather combined stats for all clusters rather than individually

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I'm still trying to gather information on total storage used by individual objects instead of just daily data written

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity Helios is much easier to use than other programs we have used and provides connectivity to the cloud

  ### 18. Office 3665 Backup option

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The pricing structure is per storage and not by user count, so in the long term it saves cost.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The user interface for restores is difficult to find what you are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Do a trial run of the product and get things setup before you pay for the solution.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have a backup solution of our Office 365 content for compliance and regulatory purposes.

  ### 19. My cohesity review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

immutable backups, policies and the possibility to include VMs automatically.
all my clusters are on the same Helios page, I can see what happens even outside the company's local
Replication is great

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

a little pricy, need to review this side

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

don't need to track new VMs as they are created

  ### 20. More efficient backup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Computer Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

I like the security of the system per user and enterprise level security, easy data management.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I have no problems with the configuration and performance of the particular system.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Configure and manage data in the cloud, I do everything from one platform, I do not need backup copies on different external servers.

  ### 21. Helios for Audits

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

We like that this all sits on the same hardware as the Storage that we use. It keeps it fast.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

It feels like this product is very aggressive in trying to cover many bases. Sometimes there is value in covering one base really well.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We will mainly be using this for auditing files and what is going on with them. There is much more capability built-in than we use.

  ### 22. Cohesity Helios is Awesome

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Easy to navigate great reports and works as intended.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Gaining access to be and admin was a pain

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy paint of glass, can view what i need and keep company happy

  ### 23. Strong scalable secondary storage platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larik-Jan V. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Scalability, strong growing feature set and performance. Users are being heard if they provide feedback. Multitenancy and multi-cloud support gives a great feature set, clearly focused on future adoption of any cloud platform. Ease of use and maintenance: simple, single pane of management with strong and fast responsive HTML5 UI. Support is great and easy accessable.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Currently, not the whole MS365 stack is supported. Planning of version updates is sometimes getting behind.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering storage and backup services for VMs, NAS, applications and MS365 environments in a multitenant environment. Benefits are its scalability and performance

  ### 24. Tired of Backups? Try Cohesity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corey H. | Network Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Cohesity performs backups in a consistent, reliable fashion without over-complication. Recoveries are quick and granular recovery offered across a large number of sub-systems.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

We have experienced some bugs that have caused minor issues. vCenter integrations are fantastic and allow for VM tagging automation, but we have had issues with the tags getting ignored. vCenter might be to blame more than anything, but it was a large hiccup for us. Cohesity support is extremely responsive and we have never had an issue getting something resolved.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The obvious is that we are utilizing Cohesity to provide a highly versatile rapid recovery data platform. We can recover individual files and entire VMs in minutes. VM recovery actually mounts the recovered VM on the Cohesity cluster and copies it in the background, providing a great time to recovery. But that really is the shortest path to a use-case with this solution. Cohesity offers a full platform of tools, apps, and unconventional storage analytics to ensure that the data you have doesn't just sit. It will detect ransomware and offer automated recovery solutions. You can turn your Cohesity cluster into your file server with a simple restore function with Views. Views are file shares you can stand up in minutes. Updates are seamless and performed in the background without interruption.

  ### 25. Cohesity Replaces Tapes and NAS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua V. | Network Administration Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The ability to get rid of traditional tape media backups via archaic terrible software. Our backup window has gotten significantly shorter and we have confidence that we can restore files or full VMs back into our environment. We are in the process of replacing legacy NAS devices with Cohesity storage and the process has been very simple. Support has been good when we have needed them for small config issues or questions on best practices.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Some features like AD backups were in 6.3 literature, but aren't actually released until 6.4 That said, it we were able to run this in beta.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

We looked at Rubrik and StorageCraft. Rubrik was more expensive with less features. StorageCraft was a good value play, but didn't have the breadth or market support that Cohesity has.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're done with tape. We're done with our legacy NAS devices and we have a clear path forward when we are ready to start sending some of our data to the cloud for long term archiving.

  ### 26. Powerful BackUp And Restore Appliance That Will Be Even Greater In The Future

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessio A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

You can create BackUp Groups and sync them with you vCenter. As soon as so create a VM in the specific folder, the vm will be backuped. That is very useful and you don't have to configure every backup for every vm.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Unfortunately, it often happens that bugs are delivered with updates. Sometimes also critical matters.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Just make enough test at the beginning with several VMs,SQL etc. Also do a PoC.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a great backup solution and don't have worries about it that our backups could go wrong.

  ### 27. Reliable Backups and More

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay S. | Adjunct Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The platform just works. Coming from out other platform, Cohesity has made life so much simpler. It has cut our full backup window from 48 hours to 3 hours (using incrementals forever). Even if I were to push fulls across the environment, it would still get it done in under 24 hours for the whole environment.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I wish that they had automated backup testing (for full VM restores and files from particular backups).

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Look into Rubric, but they do not have the elastic search function, which is a HUGE time saver. It dropped our time to restore a file from hours to minutes without requiring as much information from the end user.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer use tape in our environment, which has gained us 20-30 hours a month across the team. The backups now work flawlessly across the board and that is a weight off of my shoulders. We are also now situated to be able to backup to the cloud AND backup our cloud infrastructure once we move in that direction.

  ### 28. Best of Breed Backup/Recovery and Second Tier Storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan P. | Managing Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

I like that Cohesity is built from the ground up with a cloud first mentality. Their vision is remarkable and implementation is beyond impressive. It has simplified backup and saved us time and money.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I dislike that they have not designed the product with third party load balancers in mind, and instead you have to use DNS round robin. The CIFS/NAS feature is great, unfortunately you cannot have multiple virtual storage paths and virtual name spaces for different NAS shares.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Get your hands on the software and have a bakeoff with others in the backup and recovery space.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were in a great position to greenfield everything as part of a divestment. When choosing a backup and recovery solution we wanted something newer, and more agile than what we had been using. This checked all the boxes we had, in addition the NAS feature has quickly become a hit.

  ### 29. Easy Management and Faster Recoveries

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Backups using web GUI made easy access from anywhere. Easy policy management, Job creation and recoveries are so fast as compared to other backup vendors. Non-disruptive upgrades, easy expansion and hassle-free hardware replacements and able to manage with less man power and no worries about house-keeping jobs. Easy connect to cloud to use as destination for Cohesity backup and archives.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

latest version supports of Linux backups
Few bugs on their LTS releases which needs to be tested well before they release.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reductio in man power as there is no house-keeping jobs, non-disruptive one click upgrades and easy expansion as per data needs.

Less data center space and low running costs.

  ### 30. Easy to manage solution and a great partner in Cohesity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike G. | Sr. Manager, IT Architecture, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Great for protecting VMware workloads in our on premises environment, and being able to archive those backups for long term in cheaper public cloud storage. Easy to use interface and policy driven backups make protecting large environments easier.

The thing I like best is the close partnership we have with Cohesity as a vendor. They listen to our needs and develop features that help meet our needs.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Some times they bring new features to market before they are fully polished or feature complete. Examples include their initial file serving option which was very limited. It has incrementally improved and was recently relaunched under a new name.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Ask to speak to reference customers that match your company profile. Plan to test the product in your own environment before you make a purchase decision. Make sure you thoroughly test all your planned use cases, e.g. archive to cloud, backup over the WAN, etc.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were dealing with a legacy backup solution that had a lot of day to day operational issues, requiring my admins to spend a lot of time in the care of feeding of the solution. In addition, all offsite backups were being stored in a closed proprietary cloud owned by the backup vendor, and we wanted to get to a place where we could store those archives in public cloud.

  ### 31. Its About Time Secondary Storage and Data Protection got the Uber Treatment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek M. | Sr Gobal IT Systems Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

A few fateful years ago, Uber brought to market the most amazing new thing we had ever seen. They allowed us to pay for a ride in someone else's car. WOW! So I know what you are thinking... "That's not new!" You're right. What they actually did was take a service that had been monopolized for so long by taxi companies and made it amazing. Taxi's are known for being expensive, dirty, a little smelly, squeaky brakes, having rude drivers, hard to catch, etc etc etc. Uber gave us the ability to easily find a ride, know the fare before we ride, pay a much lower fare, ride in someone's personal car that they care for b/c it's their personal car, provide reviews to weed out bad drivers (and riders), and do it all using an app. In short, they took the mundane and made it accessible, simple, efficient, affordable... This is what Cohesity has done for secondary storage and data protection. Cohesity looked at this technology space and said, "We can uberfy this thing." And they did. I can setup a new cluster of cohesity and protect my data in less than one working day. I can then schedule, retain, replicate my backups all through an intuitive and efficient html 5 gui. And as an added bonus, why not put all that processing power to work by allowing it to be a integral part of production work loads by offering secondary storage in the same way on the cluster. WOW!

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

It could be seen as a plus or minus. But they don't support data protection for some legacy technologies... lotus notes for example. To me this makes sense b/c they are a forward looking company. This may push some customers to look for other more traditional "taxi" vendors.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Don't wait. The product is all it says it is and so much more.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data protection moved from 80% success to 100% success. We now have a platform that will grow with us and is future proof as we move to cloud, ROBO, DR, etc.

  ### 32. Cohesity changed our backups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaun G. | Technical Services Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Extremely fast recovery times, easy to use and setup. Great integration to cloud backups (ie: AWS S3). Restores take only seconds to spin up which is awesome. Ties in to AD easily. Can replace the functionality of a SMB file server.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Exchange message-level restores are clunky, relies on 3rd party tool. Still works fine but takes longer than other vendors.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

The initial purchase isn't cheap but you get what you pay for, and you'll save money in the long run with extremely fast recovery times and loads of options and customizations.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had a great experience moving to the Cohesity platform with the support of whole team. We had a good pre-sales experience and they've been very supportive and available during our implementation. The product is excellent, we're very happy with it (we've already used it in production for a restore and it worked flawlessly) and are continuing to explore the features as we use it more.

  ### 33. Cohesity has been great so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Uriel P. | Systems Engineer II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

our Cohesity units are so easy to use, that it makes managing them really simple.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I haven't found a down side. They work very well

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Do your research. We brought in several backup companies to do demos, and Cohesity won, even though we original had our hearts set on another vendor. Give them a chance.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started using the Cohesity as a file share system and the benefits have been great. We freed up some server space.

  ### 34. Cohesity: A better backup solution than File solution

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Setting up a backup job, restoring files and VMs, and searching for these items are quick and easy. The install process and implementation can be done in half a day depending on the size of your environment. Restoring a 100GB VM from Cohesity was completed and back up and running in under 10 minutes.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The documentation that is provided with the support pages are not always accurate. Some features do not work as well as anticipated.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Try it before you buy it. Make sure that it can do what is expected.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it work it works well. When it is down it can take several hours to get it functioning correctly

  ### 35. Simplified and Extremely Efficient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The Simple interface and dashboard allows all of our DevOps staff easy access to review jobs and restore within seconds.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The SQL Server backup jobs have had issues intermittently which is concerning.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Be sure to submit a tech support ticket to establish response time during a POC.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplified backup solution with data replication for DR in the Cloud.
We currently have all production data replicated the following cloud targets:
All production data -> AWS Glacier
All Police production data ->AWS Gov
Design & Construction drawing archive -> AWS Glacier

Replication Performance to AWS Gov and CJIS Compliance for use with Police car/body cam video capture and storage/archive.

Predictable pricing and scalable architecture that doesn’t penalize us for data growth in future.

  ### 36. Backup, restore, and secondary storage made easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike O. | Director of Information Technology, Mining & Metals, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The UI ps the way to navigate. The company is constantly seeking input and ideas from the user base to find ways to improve. I really like the customer engagement. Site replication.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I honestly have not come across anything I dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Ask your rep to talk to a customer. We are engaged with our reps.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Disaster recovery platform. ROI and RTO have been shortened

  ### 37. Cohesity our solution for Back up as a Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

After implementation when the storage stands you can manage everything from the web interface. Managing your back-ups from the web interface is very easy especially on a larger scale it works really well, compared to other solutions.

Also when we need more storage we just buy another unit and add them to the current cluster. It makes it very easy to scale for our company.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The software updates sometimes come to soon. Support is always ready to help really quick but I feel if they did less updates with more testing it would better.

In the beginning we were missing some features which would make live easyer, but more and more of these features are getting enrolled with every new software update. But like I said the software updates could use more testing.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

If you look for a easy to use very scalable back-up solution, Cohesity if definitely the way to go.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The way it scales is really useful for us. We can deliver back-up solutions to our customers without much extra work.

The time we put in our old back-up system compared to Cohesity has drastically decreased.

  ### 38. Implementation was easy, support staff is superb

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The overal experience is satisfying. We use Cohesity back-up solution to safeguard three of our datacenters. The original setup was quite simple and the few problems we encountered where quickly fixed. Cohesity is actively developing the software and new features are added constantly. Also, the possibility to run a virtual edition of their software is quite interesting for some implementations.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Documentation is missing sometimes, and some settings are difficult to find.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Veeam, rubric

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have consolidated our back-up environment with one solution instead of multiple.

  ### 39. Cohesity, backup for your virtual environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Scale-out storage, multi-tenant portal and vCloud Director support. Their support is also quick and good. Quick development of new features. The interface is a state of the art and works on all devices through HTML5.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The support for multi tenancy and vCloud director took a while to create, but other then that the development does go quick for new functions.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Once setup its easy to use and upgrade with new nodes.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scaling problems with backup storage are solved with scale-out. As wel as easy multi-tenancy for our clients.

  ### 40. Cohesity makes backup/recovery simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

I like that it just works. Easy to use, easy to manage, easy to upgrade. Backups are fast and simple. Recovers are even faster and easy enough to allow self service.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

I have not found anything that I do not like about Cohesity as of yet. We have been using Cohesity for almost 2 years and it just keeps getting better.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Best switch we have ever made.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to spend less time troubleshooting backup issues and more time on other projects. Less FTE time spent managing and troubleshooting backups.

  ### 41. Great data protection for your datacenter/cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian C. | IT Systems & Network Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

VMware backup & MSSQL backup. The test and dev functions are also very useful

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Cloud requirements for off site DR. Right now it takes too much configuration and resources to quickly spin up DR in the cloud.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Initial appliance startup could have been easier. Hopefully this has improved over the last two years.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have reduced our backup system count from 5 to 1. We have 15 min RPOs on MSSQL transaction servers. This is great for our retail business.

  ### 42. Cohesity

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Ease of use, flexibility and all in one.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Updating cluster could be easier by having the upgrade within then the UI instead of having to go to a website to pull the upgrade.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of our backup environment requiring several different pieces of hardware and software cohesity allows us to control our backups in a unified system

  ### 44. Great Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

The absolute ease of backups and restores. I've setup SMB/NFS and used it, plus the cloning is slick. The different options and speed at a file, folder or VM restore is great. It's great to have a solution that does more than just back stuff up.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

No different than anywhere else, when there are issues we work through them and a lot of the time it is upgrade that resolves the issue.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VM and NAS backup/protection. Having a reliable platform that works and is dependable.

  ### 45. Super fast with no monitoring required!

I liked having this as a hyper-converged unit, so I can scale the storage with the software. The development cycle is also very fast, so new features are always being added.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

The product has some maturing to do, in terms of feature set.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Do a POC - you have to see it in action!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Super fast and searchable restores, instant mounting from NFS shares to VMware that actually work.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

Cloud data usage is high if you opt for backup to the usual suspects. They are working on this.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Take advantage of the virtual edition to test the platform before buying.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much faster restores, and because the dedupe works across all backups we are able to increase our backup frequency.

  ### 49. Works really well!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ellis e. | Employee, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Cohesity?**

Cohesity listened to our needs and they were able to provide the data protection solution that we were looking for. They spent a significant amount of time understanding our backup requirements and worked with us to meet those requirements

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

They have a lack of a direct support for tape media. Also I hope they offer more incentives, and cheaper packages.

**Recommendations to others considering Cohesity:**

Cohesity may or may not be the right solution for your environment, the cost is tad expensive, but if you are running a huge system, then this might be the perfect fit for efficiency.

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohesity backs up our SMB shares which is the best feature,. The user interface is fairly intuitive and easy to figure out. It is the simplest backup solution I have ever worked with.

**What do you dislike about Cohesity?**

There are some features that we were looking for that was lacking and our system was not always stable

**What problems is Cohesity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping all of them files and backups in on location. We have been able to retrieve lost\missing files in a fraction of the time
