Awesome platform for teaching programming in a remote setting **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Kar M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2020 **What do you like best about Coding Rooms?** Codingrooms is the first online platform that prioritizes the teacher's needs in a virtual classroom setting. Teaching remotely by combining Zoom and screen share has been a headache and more importantly ineffective. I feel the need for a solution where I can reach my students and address their needs all at the same time from one single web browser has been addressed with Codingrooms. **What do you dislike about Coding Rooms?** So far the teaching experience has been flawless. One thing that might be beneficial to add would be breakout rooms for students to do assignments and projects. The way I was advised to go about it in the meantime is to leave the sessions open for the students to complete their projects. **What problems is Coding Rooms solving and how is that benefiting you?** Remote teaching specifically for computer science and programming has been really tough. The fact that I can view and modify all my students' code from one single web browser in real-time is priceless. Also, If any of my students has not been paying attention or writing code, the system will show them when they were last active. ### 2. I use it for in-class exercises and it works great! Must have for all programming teachers - no longer have to walk around the classroom just to help students with debugging their code. **What do you dislike about Coding Rooms?** Nothing wrong with the interface as it is now - would be nice to see in the future the ability to have assessments built into the tool as well. **What problems is Coding Rooms solving and how is that benefiting you?** With COVID, I need to teach compsci online - very difficult not being able to talk to students directly as to exactly where their issues lie in the code. Now I can see them type and run code in real-time by keystrokes!
