It has a polished UI/UX and is improving frequently. I've used it as the hub for a small short film production, and it made collaborating and sending files between users really simple. Syncing local changes was a breeze, and the way it optimizes file storage in the backend is super helpful. Clustta also uses familiar ways to present information to the user, so it's approachable and easy for people to get a grasp on it. **What do you dislike about Clustta?** The main point against Clustta at this point would probably be its age. As a relatively new program (currently v0.4.39), there's definitely been a few bugs that you might not encounter when using something that's been around for longer. With that said, I think it's also worth noting that the team have been super receptive to every one of the issues I've reported and have addressed the vast majority of them, usually in the very next release. **What problems is Clustta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Clustta is acting as the production hub and file store for me! I've done projects in the past using other solutions like cloud storage and synced directories to collaborate with others, but things would always get super messy. Files would get overridden or corrupted during failed uploads, it was hard to track who's working on what, and the storage space would often completely fill up with many hundreds of copies versions of files. Clustta's chunk approach to file storage means the total project size is so much smaller, and assets can be assigned to specific people right through the UI. ### 2. It allows artists to save unlimited scene checkpoints without using up drive space, and we can track asset versions easily. I appreciate how it eliminates storage bloat and versioning chaos, and I love that it syncs seamlessly with project management tools, ensuring smooth handoffs across the pipeline. A stand-out feature for me is its local-first deduplication and checkpointing, which prevents bloating drive space or risking corrupted files. It pairs well with Kitsu to remove file-management headaches and maintains seamless handoffs between departments. Also, the installation was easy, although mapping project directories took some planning. **What do you dislike about Clustta?** I wish there was direct plugin integration within the Maya and ZBrush viewport, so I can save checkpoints without leaving my workspace. I also think additional lightweight web previews for client reviews could really ease the onboarding curve for artists who are used to traditional folder structures. **What problems is Clustta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Clustta for non-destructive version control and asset deduplication, eliminating storage bloat and versioning chaos. The software never lags or slows down. I've had lots of support from the team whenever I have questions, and they are always willing to listen and make adjustments based on community feedback. **What do you dislike about Clustta?** Some of the terminology was a little hard to understand at first, but I know the team is continuously updating and is willing to make changes when appropriate. The only other thing is that currently, when a new update is available, I usually do not receive a notification on the desktop version. I have to log out/log in every time there is an update as well. It would be nice if when I opened the program, I got a notification that it's updating, or that it finished updating to the latest version. Those are small notes though! **What problems is Clustta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Clustta is solving for scalability. In animation, projects can have many different scopes and timelines.
