# Is UpContent worth it as a content curation platform for a content operations team at a 50-500 person company, or does BuzzSumo cover enough content discovery and curation without the additional cost?

Hi G2 users, we've been sitting on the question of whether UpContent is worth it as a content curation platform for a content operations team at a 50-500 person company, or whether BuzzSumo covers enough content discovery and curation without the additional cost. Both keep coming up in our evaluation but they clearly serve different functions, which makes the "worth it" comparison harder than it looks.

The detail in this post that decides the whole question is the team still checking 25 publications by hand first. A discovery tool earns its subscription by replacing that manual pass, not by running alongside it. If people check their trusted sources first and glance at the tool second, you're paying for a habit nobody formed. There's a cheap way to find out: for two weeks, tag every piece the team actually curates with where it was first spotted. If the tool originates a real share, the cost conversation gets easy. If almost everything still comes from the manual list, no feature comparison matters, and that answer costs nothing but a spreadsheet column.
