As a developer I feel the best thing about Cincom CPQ is its architecture which allows easy and fast integrations with other CRM's and ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) applications. Cincom CPQ enables Point and Click configurations which doesn't need an expert software programmer at all to do the product implementations. Other than above managing Prices according various locations is much more easier with Cincom CPQ. Cincom CPQ also supports multi language document printing engine which definitely help to print sales offers and order documents in customer's regional language. We as Cranes and Hoist Manufacturing company have very much variations in the product and selection of product for the exact inquiry by customer varies according to the input conditions such as lifting capacity, height of lift and distance to be traveled. So Cincom CPQ is helping us to manage all such possible configurations easily. After receiving inquiry Sales person can provide input criteria and accordingly the application products are shown in grid with Prices. which made the sales cycle very short and customers are presented with exact product, their prices and applicable feature information in the proposal document. We are doing businesses in India, China, Germany, Sweden, France and Finland. Cincom CPQ provides feature to login and use the application as per the user login language which is very impressive feature and helps a lot doing day to day business. The integration with Dynamics CRM was very important to us, as was the ability to generate models, rules and UI without writing any code. There is some limitation in the UI designer. This can be overcome but it requires coding knowledge. Whilst you don't necessarily need to be a developer to build models and rules, you do need a certain set of skills and way of thinking that does lend itself to people from an IT or engineering background. Ease of use is by far the best part. The system uses a drag and drop process that eliminates typos. What do you dislike about Cincom CPQ? Not much to dislike about this product. Guess if one thing had to be selected I'd say the web browser limitation is a headache. By limitation, what happens is when a tree becomes to large the web browser freezes and crashes. I understand that's on the web browser but it would be nice if the system did not allow a tree to become big enough to allow the crash to happen. This is a very repeatable feature which means they should have the ability to account for it and prevent it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Cincom CPQ: Great product with awesome support. Very easy to use and implement if you have the proper documentation. If your company does not have good documentation practices I advise to spend time getting those set up and created before starting the implementation process. If you don't, it will seem like it's taking forever to implement the system but the reality is it's taking forever to create your company documentation that did not already exist! That if I have any problems with Cincom CPQ, the CPQ team at Cincom is ready to help fix the problem. Also, they are open to suggestions for other functionality in future versions of the CPQ. I am currently using version 3.75 of the CPQ and most of the issues me and my team have encountered are being addressed in version 4.5. The one thing I have seen when previewing 4.5 is that I cannot have multiple entities open at the same time in the same window. In the past before we were using a CPQ our ordering process was confusing to say the least. Our goal was to be able to have the CPQ process 85%-90% of our orders without a hiccup and the remaining orders would have to have more oversight because of the complexity of those orders.
