Simple template creation using Word. Changes in the Word template are live-uploaded and can be previewed immediately. Creating the template in Word is both great and complex, as for example the apostrophe symbol may be replaced by a different character automatically and you need to watch out for it. The upside is that Word is well-known, easy to understand and really customizable (e.g. page numbers, headers, different header on first page, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a developer, one of the greatest advantages I've experienced is not having to rely on installing Office on the computer. Additionally, I highlight the speed and simplicity when it comes to generating and creating templates. Another advantage is their customer service, which is the best by far, congratulations. I have nothing special to highlight, except that my only complaint is that during my experience of use I have encountered some errors, which have been fixed in the following updates. First of all, I want to clarify that what I'm going to say is not something I dislike, but perhaps a development path to make the tool even more accessible.

The handling of JSON and the specific variable nomenclature in Carbone can be slightly obscure for someone who is not familiar with it. Introducing an AI module specific to Carbone that would generate these kinds of elements would truly be a game-changer to make the tool accessible to a wider audience. I needed a document generator for multiple kinds of documents - pdf, word, excel. I was looking for an open source/free solution. Carbone came with great reviews and it was super easy to find the right model (pricing is explained well). In 5 minutes I had the docker image installed and basic JS client code set up. Altogether the learning curve for everything was really smooth.

Eventually I needed a feature that was only available in the enterprise edition, so I called up the company to discuss non-profit pricing options. There I met one of the company founders. He was super nice and offered support to solve my need.

My service is running on a limited VPS, and I'm stunned at how fast Carbone is. My documents are generated near-instantaneously.

There are several client libraries available that make it super easy to integrate with Carbone. While the examples are great and offer quick solutions for common problems, I missed detailed API documentation, explaining every SDK function and all possible options. The codes allow for adapting the presentation of reports according to the needs, desires, and habits of the clients. They can work in an environment and produce a report identical to internal usage habits. The digitized workflow is complete and effortless! I put myself in the shoes of the end users who, as far as this is concerned, are not IT specialists and know nothing about coding. The page of the Carbone platform that lists the codes is too complicated to understand and follow. So, based on this and practice, I created a list of the necessary codes for clients so that they can create their report from our platform and their template without having to go through the Carbone platform.
