**What do you like best about Breathe?**

I like the Breathe app for its minimalist design, simplicity, and effectiveness in providing a quick, guided reset. It works exceptionally well as a simple, haptic-driven tool to 'reset' the nervous system, especially when paired with specific environmental conditions, settings, and complementary apps. I find it integrates well with several third-party tools to streamline HR processes, reduce manual data entry, and centralize information. The initial setup for learning proper breathing techniques, like diaphragmatic or deep breathing, is made to be very simple and accessible, often only taking a few minutes to get started.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Breathe HR is praised for its simplicity and affordability for SMEs, but there are areas frequently highlighted as needing improvement or not working as well for users. It could also enhance its functionality to improve user experience and scalability.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Breathe has streamlined our HR processes and saved us time on admin.  Breathe is incredibly user-friendly, even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. I especially like how clean and intuitive the interface is, everything from booking leave to reviewing performance is straightforward. It’s easy to navigate, requires very little training, and gives a clear overview of our team at a glance. The self-service functionality has empowered our team to manage their own records, which saves us so much time.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

There are occasional limitations with customisation, especially around reporting and integrating with other systems. It would be great to have more flexible dashboards or more integrations with payroll tools. Sometimes the performance review templates can feel a bit rigid.

**What problems is Breathe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Breathe is solving several key HR challenges for us, particularly around time-consuming admin, lack of visibility, and inconsistent processes. Before using Breathe, managing annual leave, sickness records, and performance reviews involved clunky spreadsheets and lots of email chasing. Now, everything is centralised and automated, which has significantly reduced errors and freed up time for more strategic work. It’s also improved our internal communication and accountability, team members can easily access their own records, and managers have real-time oversight of their teams. This has led to a more efficient, transparent, and empowered workplace.

It is handy to keep all employee records in one place and makes it easier to track holidays/ sickness and breathe will even analyse the data.

It would be good if a calendar were included in the basic subscription, so that if changes are made in Breathe, they would also update on Outlook.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

I find the platform incredibly easy to use and very intuitvie - its easy for the team to use and navigate and me myself as a HR administrator. I find the interface to be clean and simple, it's very flexible with all of the features you can add to, I like the idea of your whole employee profile with promotions etc being in one place. Automated reminders are really good for keeping things streamlined. I can see easily when someone has made a change in their profile.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

I would love to be able to see all info on a staff member in one page rather than going to all the different tabs, maybe could do jump to X section instead?

**What problems is Breathe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes booking leave for the whole team very easy and it is easy for me to go through and verify everyones leave requests. It also is helpful for me as the office admin to see certain info about people such as their start date, type of contract they are on etc.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

It's useful to see when other people in the company are off so you can choose your dates knowing that they are most likely to be approved. Sickness is also very easy to record and refer back.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

I believe this an additional paid for feature, but cancelling holiday required authorisation before we can book anything else, which can lead to delays. 

Also, HR Users dont show which the rest of the company you have to search for them seperately, and they also dont show in the group calendar so you can't see when they are off. In small businesses this is really useful to have the visibility of the entire company even if they are a HR user, or Managing Director.

Absences and Sickness tracking. Easy one place to look to ensure payroll is correct.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

User-friendly with an interface that is easy to navigate. The Intercom forum is very useful for finding instructions on how to do different things and how to use/navigate through the system. The customer support is also excellent and easy to get through to. Also integrates with Hireful, which is great for streamlined recruitment.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Reporting could do better, custom reports could be very useful. You can extract loads of data via full data reports, but this involves loads of filtering and data manipulation.

**What problems is Breathe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Client relations management, core HR and data storage. Good for time keeping against client records as well as client documentation management, benefiting me by having a centralised platform with all client data contained.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Easy to go from different client portals. Centralised documentation and an easy platform to navigate. Makes for an efficient relationship as a remote consultant when helping employees and the employers.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Not being able to change working patterns and holiday allowances in advance was a big one, but the recent update has changed this which is great. 

I would like the Time and Attendance module to be a bit easier to understand! I have a lot of clients that using clocking in software and are therefore reluctant to move to BreatheHR as it doesn't quite fit their needs, nor do I understand it well enough to promote it. I have a call arranged with my Account Manager to hopefully resolve this too.

It would be good to be able to bulk upload Company Documents as this is time consuming!

As a remote consultant, it allows me to manage the admin side or HR effectively for each of my clients.

It's an easy platform to manage a team in one place with easy access to their profiles/documents/training. It hasuseful tools to help manage things like annual leave (such as displaying the % used vs the days worked etc). I can also upload all their paperwork into the system for only myself and them to see.

I do find the layout a little tricky to navigate sometimes - I might find a page of useful info and then struggle to find it again a second time

Rather than having an HR team or multiple folders/files to keep track of - in Breath everything is in one central location.

The ease of annual leave booking and inputting of sick days, and especially the shared calendar - makes it simple and effective to see who is and isn't available each day of the week.

The onboarding and recruitment process for new staff could be better. Although the system does provide this, it is very limited in its capabilities.

It keeps everything centralised and is easy for communication between line managers for sick days as well as easy for our staff to know how is and isn't in the building and when.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

I like that it is plain and simple to use, no difficult set up as there was such an ease of implementation. The account manager we have at customer support is great and the frequency of use has skyrocketed. There are a number of features which we would like our partners to use more but this has been something of a slow burner and more support on this would be great.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

The offboarding tasks could be integrated more smoother and if there is an integration to payroll systems and docusign, this would make it easier to use.

Organisational chart is a big one for our clients, as well as the ability to remove ourselves from an excel sheet for holidays and have a system to do just that all in one confidential space.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Breathe HR makes it really easy to manage day-to-day HR tasks like tracking holidays, absences, and employee records. The interface is simple and straightforward, which means you don’t need a lot of training to get started... I also like the automated reminders for probation reviews and appraisals - it’s a small thing, but it helps keep everything on track. The document storage feature is handy too, especially for keeping contracts and policies in one place.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Some room for improvement. The lack of customisation can be frustrating if your company has specific processes or reporting needs. I’d also like to see better integrations with other systems like payroll, as switching between platforms slows things down. Notifications can be hit or miss as well... sometimes you don’t realise something needs approving until it’s too late.

Helps to centralise our HR processes, making it easier to manage employee data, track absences, and handle holiday requests. It’s particularly beneficial for maintaining an organised record of documents like contracts and policies, which reduces admin time and ensures compliance. The automated reminders for key events like probation reviews also help us stay on top of employee performance management, saving time and preventing missed deadlines.

It's really helpful to be able to monitor things like holiday and TOIL, and especially for a team who's time is logged as hours and not days.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

If you only use certain elements of the platform, you can sometimes be overwhelmed by the options available to you that you don't ever need to access.

It's helping us to track, monitor and process holidays, TOIL and absences in a really streamlined way. It is also helping with the storing of employee-related paperwork which can then be accessed across the organisation if neccessary.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Breathe has a wide variety of functionality: Calendar, leave, trianing, company documents and so on.
It is fairly easy for the team to use and it is great to find everything in one place.
Admin access makes it easy for management to stay on top of processes and organisation.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Some elements are not intuative, such as where to find Kudos, or onboarding sessions. Some elements seem like although they are available, they are hidden.
There could be added functionality, such as being able to export the Organisation Chart, or view company training as a whole rather than person by person.
Onboarding sessions have to be assigned to a person one by one, rather than multi select.

Annual leave - easy and effcient for team members to book leave and for this to be approved.
Office Booking - again, easy and efficient.
Company documents - great to have these all in one place, approved individually and able to download the latest version and the push of a button.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Easy to navigate dashboard with lots of options for employees to pick from when adding leave, and me when I add absences. Easy to implement within the team. 
I havent had to deal with customer support but after asking for feedback from my other colleagues they have said this is helpful.
I use Breathe daily and am therefore familiar with the system and how we integrate this into our HR processes.

when trying to use resources like holiday calculator - the page is confusing with ads to sell add ons when i just want to get to the resource. the page almost seems to advertise to someone who doesnt have breathe.

Breathe allows you to manage holidays both in days and hours, log performance targets and upload documents. You can easily adjust access rights for different team members, and select if information should be visible by the employee.

I like that all of our team info is kept in one place, that we can organise shifts and offer them out for people to accept or decline. It was really simple to integrate onto the system, and all of our employeed engage with it daily.

breathes website is easy to navigate and user friendly  from both an employee and a HR perspective. setting new users is quick and easy and i am easily able to access the service regularly as part of my job

Im unable to read assigned documents on the app. i believe that would be beneficial as i am able to do this at my own convenience without needing to use my laptop

Collecting all information in one place is so helpful, in regards to everything from holiday, finance, expenses, company equipment, contact details for themselves and emergency contacts, right to work documents, company documents and more. It's super user friendly and self explanatory.

Nothing, it all works fantastically, with less glitches/issues than other platforms I've used.

Admin in terms of keeping everything in one place, implementation of processes in terms of tracking sickness and holiday, use of contact details and emergency details in a safe and accessible place.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

Breathe is easy to use with the same icons used througout to navigate accross the different functionality. It is focused on the type of client we work with, SME's with under 200 employees and works for a range of industries. Extra add on's mean that more functionality can be incorpoarted for an additional cost where needed. It is cost effective compared to other similar software on the market and means that our clients people data is all in one centralised location, saving them time. The friendly Partner Managers are on hand to asssit with any queries quickly.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Breathe is focused on SME's with under 250 employees so for larger organisations there may be other software which is more suited but Breathe will cater for these clients also. Breathe tries to be as bespoke as it can be but sometimes there are little things you have to get round in other ways on the system.

**What problems is Breathe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Breathe saves time by having all employee data in one place. Easily organised and useful reminders.

Not having access to the user guide and having to use the help caht function  when doing something new or for the firts time.

It allows me to have visibility on staff absences, sickness, holiday and non reggular absences. It also gives me a one stop function for creating reports and monitoring trends. 
It also gives managers direct responsibility for managing their staff/teams and having direct access to first line HR support.

What I like best about Breathe HR is how user-friendly it is, especially for small to medium-sized businesses. I use Breathe for a few different clients.  It covers all the bases for a small business such as ours, and the ease of managing holidays, personal records, reviews and documents all in one place has saved us a lot of admin time.

We would like to see some improvements on attaching objective documents etc to staff reviews - we can save documents elsewhere, but it would be good to have all these things in one place but only a small gripe

It's saving us time - and this saves us money.  The team can view their own holiday records, documents and objectives etc which cuts down on admin from a head office perspective

Breathe is proving to be useful for Absence management - leave, toil, sickness etc. The ease of implemetation of these features is impressive.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

The Performance Management function has enormous potential but is proving to be frustrating. We wanted to create a report for our management team that showed everyones progress on their Objectives. Each member of staff had updated their progress, providing comments and the % of the Objective completed. The intention was to create a report that showed all those % percentages and the comments that staff had provided but we checked with Customer Support and it transpires that that is not possible. There appears to be no way to report either the comments that staff have left or the % progress. This would seem like a very useful function for anyone wanting to have an overview of progress across the organisation. I'm really surpirsed this function is not available. In the end we had to copy all the progress percentages into the report by hand. Very frustrating.

Breathe is easy to use and very user friendly. We have modernised both our internal HR processes and our clocking in system. We use Breateh for everything! The rota and time clock functions are amazing and work perfectly with geotagging to our seperate locations - even allowing work from home!

There is a certain amount of set up time that you have to account for, however once up and running.. breathe can do it all!

Allowing staff to clock in from multiple locations, also allowing us to modernise and simplify our HR processes for onboarding, and employee management as well as training and certificates.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

It's simple to use and navigate around, and has different pricing ranges depending on size of business and how many additional modules, if any are needed. It also integrates with Xero payroll.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

It needs to integrate with more payroll software providers. It also needs to update its coding so that the system can succesfully pro rata holiday automatically if someone changes their hours during the leave year, or starts on a part time basis. The work around is doable but needs manual intervention. It does however, pro rata holiday succesfully if someone starts part way through a leave year.

It gives me a good, affordable solution to get small businesses onto an HR system that don't require a bigger, more complex product to meet their needs.

You only get out what you put into a system, so since we want to stay on top of our HR tasks, our team has to put in the data that will allow us to do it.

**What do you like best about Breathe?**

It's easy to use; it's easy to access; it's easy to understand and manoeuvre. Also like that improvements are made based on user and partner feedback. Some of our clients have integrated with Xero for payroll and found it easy to do so. It's an intuitive system which means that training new joiners on how to use Breathe takes no time. Whenever I need to reach out to my Breathe Account Manager, replies are quick and helpful. When we onboard a new client and introduce them to Breathe, the implementation is quick. Breathe is a system which can be use whenever, via a computer or the app.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Nothing as such. There are still some bits which could be improved to make reporting easier for HR partners like me but overall, it does the job.

**What problems is Breathe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Breathe offers one central place to share announcements, information and documents with employees. It ensures GDPR is applied by providing a safe space for employment-related information. It also offers a reporting function which helps someone like me produce quarterly HR management reports to my clients.

I'm new to Breathe - I like how clear the system is and how easy I manged to pick it up. I have already recommended it to another charity. I like the presentation and usability of the system and it is a good price.

I'd like to understand how, for example, all staff could see all other staffs emergency contact information. Template HR letters would be a bonus to make things even easier i.e. probation passing letter, celebrate work anniversaries, annual apprasial etc.

Holiday requests. Tracking employees documents and when items are due. i.e. appraisals.

Holiday booking works well, and calculating holiday for new starters is automated but not for leavers, so that doesn't really make any sense.

**What do you dislike about Breathe?**

Adding documents (eg. contracts, references, proof of right-to-work) is a bit fiddly and it's frustrating that it doesn't have drop-downs for regularly used items (like the things I've mentioned above), so if you want to be consistent in labelling these documents across all your employees then you have to keep a list on a spreadsheet

We don't have an HR expert, so the fact that Line Managers can add to their staff's records means it doesn't all fall to one person, so that's a good feature.
