Customer support is amazing. Moving from QB Desktop to an AI software is quite a move, so I have needed some extra support during the conversion process and the team is responsive and extremely helpful.

Using the AI functionality within the product has made the learning curve much more simple. Don't know where to go to find something? Simply start a chat. Not skilled in doing Journal Entries, no worries, just tell AI what you want to accomplish, it does the work and waits for your approval to post it.

The pricing is also very attractive as I have multiple entities to support, so paying that per entity cost was becoming price prohibitive, so BooksGPT was a very great choice for me.

The performance is real time, and being able to access my information from anywhere is a huge bonus.

The interface is very simple, which makes it clean. I am hoping they bring in some type of landing page where I can view my matrix at one time, but while I wait, the interface is easy to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

BooksGPT has made my life much simpler. The Daily Review gives me a list of what needs to be looked at, and helps me stay on track. I don’t have to download each individual item, and it categorizes transactions based on the history in the file. If there’s a question, it flags it for review, and nothing gets posted without my approval. I like the speed of automation and that the features are constantly evolving, learning, and growing. If I have questions, the help chat has a real live person who helps me tweak the import. It helps streamline everything for my simple business, saves on cost, and there’s no upsell going on. I did have some trouble bringing my books over from QuickBooks. When I connected our banks, the files didn’t automatically line up correctly. BooksGPT is relatively new to the scene but has the core functionality and ease of use necessary to make it a capable alternative to QBO. I run a tax firm and have been looking to ditch QBO for a long time. I took the plunge a few months ago by converting my own firm’s books to BooksGPT. It is a young product so there have been a few bumps along the way, but I’ve had a good experience working with the support staff who have been quick to respond and tell me what I need, or in several cases to squash a bug or implement an improvement that I ask for. Some tasks on it don’t work well on mobile but that is at least partly just because of limited real estate and may be unavoidable. As of Sept 2026 it doesn’t have many options for integration/automation, though Zapier is on the road map which should solve a lot of that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease and quickness in import QBO as well as the bank setup. It's quick and quick to categorize as it learns from QBO and also learns right away when you code something. Like anything, it takes some time to get everything working. Love the product and it will grow and scale as I add different clients. Are there some hiccups, OF COURSE there are - to be expected but support hops on things right away. I have not added it to other tools....still getting everything else going. I wouldn't say "dislike" but I am having to go to support for things that I believe (as an accountant/bookkeeper) "should" have already been done. As the problem earth shattering...no, and it's been something a little different with each client I've onboarded. BUT, once they fix it, it is fixed across the board so no one else has to go thru it. As a former CPA and current business owner with several small entities, I really like the combination of traditional accounting functionality and genuinely useful AI. The Copilot is probably my favorite feature. I can upload a receipt and have it propose the accounting treatment, ask questions about my books conversationally, or simply type or dictate a journal entry and have BooksGPT set it up for my approval.

The bank and credit card feeds have worked flawlessly for me, and the system does a very good job of learning how recurring transactions should be classified. I actually find myself looking forward to new transactions appearing in the feeds just to see whether BooksGPT gets them right—and most of the time, it does.

I also really like the overall interface. It’s intuitive and easy to navigate, the reports are clean and modern, and the support team has been extremely responsive whenever I’ve had a question or suggestion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

BooksGPT is still a relatively young product, so there are some features and conveniences found in more mature accounting platforms that are not there yet. I occasionally run into something I wish it could do, but I’ve been impressed with how responsive the team is to questions, feedback, and feature suggestions.

For the small businesses I’m using it for, these limitations have been relatively minor compared with the simplicity, AI capabilities, and cost savings I’m getting from the platform. I also like seeing how quickly the product continues to evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the automation. I was impressed by the inexpensive lifetime cost. I found the setup fantastic and easy, and the questions I had were answered efficiently. I like that BooksGPT makes doing bookkeeping and accounting easier. The AI is built in like an assistant for me, including support when I need help understanding how to categorize or reconcile, and I don’t have to pay extra for AI. It functions the way I expect it to, is very streamlined, and using AI to enter information prevents mistakes. I haven’t had any issues with how the software works. It was very easy to set up, arguably easier than setting up QuickBooks, and it’s much less expensive than QuickBooks Online. For a small company like mine, I would give it a 10.
