# Is BlueSnap worth it for controllers and CFOs, based on user reviews?

BlueSnap comes up often enough in Enterprise Payment conversations that I wanted to actually dig into what finance leaders say about it rather than go off the marketing page, and see how it stacks up against what controllers and CFOs typically need.

BlueSnap is consistently praised for handling international sales without the company needing to build separate infrastructure per country, with reviewers noting it automatically routes payments to the bank most likely to approve them. Dedicated account managers and bi-weekly check-ins also get specific mention as valuable for finance teams that want a real point of contact. On the downside, a couple of reviewers in the UK and EU flagged that BlueSnap doesn't yet support 3DS 2.2, which some companies in those markets require, and it isn't a merchant of record, so expansion into markets like Argentina isn't currently possible through the platform.

For comparison, Corpay Cross-Border is more purpose-built for outbound cross-border vendor payments rather than accepting global sales, so the fit depends on whether you're paying out or getting paid.

Tipalti overlaps with BlueSnap on global reach but leans further into mass payouts and tax compliance rather than payment acceptance.

BILL AP/AR is worth a look too if the real need is AP automation rather than a payment gateway, since that's a different problem than what BlueSnap solves.

For anyone actually using BlueSnap in a controller or CFO capacity, has the lack of 3DS 2.2 support actually blocked a deal for you, or has it been more of a compliance footnote?

The merchant-of-record point feels more consequential than the feature checklist. BlueSnap may simplify accepting payments internationally, but finance teams still own the tax and regulatory obligations that come with those sales. I’d want to know how much work that leaves with the controller as the business enters new markets.
