What do you like best about BillingPlatform?

I most appreciate how flexible BillingPlatform is. It's not just flexible for billing, it supports customization for reporting, collection actions, page design, and much more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BillingPlatform?

Large reports seem difficult to run. Advanced features require SQL knowledge. I wish setting up tax engines was more out of the box or self-service for someone who does not know SQL. Also, some of the functionality of general ledger rules as well as AR reporting are not GAAP compliant, such as credit amortization or AR Aging. It was not easy to set up. It required very expensive professional contractors on multiple occasions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Barr of BillingPlatform

Thank you for the honest breakdown Stephanie, this kind of specific insight is so helpful for our team.

The flexibility point is great to hear! That's an intentional design decision, so it's good to know it's coming through across reporting, collections, and page configuration, not just billing. The SQL requirement and tax engine setup are fair criticisms. We're expanding self-service configuration to reduce that dependency, and your CSM can walk you through what's available now while we continue improving it.

On the GL rules and AR Aging GAAP concerns: we want to address those directly, not generically. Please reach out to Ryan so we can get the right people looking at your specific configuration.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback with us!

"Customizable Yet Complex Setup"

What do you like best about BillingPlatform?

I like how customizable and configurable BillingPlatform is to match our business requirements. It's also good that it is API first and very powerful. Additionally, I appreciate how easy it is to update layouts within the tool to quickly get a better view and apply filters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BillingPlatform?

It's slow to load: reaching a single section can take several clicks and each is slow. Links can't be opened in new tabs by default with Command key + click, requiring right clicks instead. The Log Analyzer can't be enabled for more than 24 hours and isn't API enabled. The Processing console is hard to read and has misleading numbers for in-progress processes, making it tough to gauge completion time. The AI report performs poorly, often outputting nothing; I find the Query Builder in the workbench more effective, as it allows me to inspect entity fields better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Barr of BillingPlatform

This is really valuable feedback, so thank you for sharing. The layout flexibility and ability to quickly filter and adjust your view is something we're proud of, and that you're getting real value from the customization and API-first architecture. The fact that you've unified your billing processes, reduced maintenance, and truly handled complex billing methods is exactly what we're going for!

Regarding the UI and speed, that's one we're actively fixing (thanks to hearing feedback like this). With Log Analyzer, we encountered performance concerns with running it longer than 24 hours, but I shared your request with our product team so they can address it along with the processing console bugs you're experiencing. Speaking of the AI report, did you run that with our original Copilot? I'm glad you found that Query Builder worked, but our new BillingPlatform AI is much better at reporting. I'd love for your CSM to see these issues in action—want me to schedule a quick session where you walk us through your workflow?

You've clearly gotten this platform to do sophisticated work. Let's make sure there aren't bugs fighting you while you're doing it!
