There is no registration or login required so you don't need to create an account or give them a credit card. Barnimages has absolutely beautiful photos that somehow seem to have more of a personal or intimate feel to them than standard stock photos. They don't charge anything for their photos, but you can donate if you choose. They allow you to use these really incredible photos for personal or commercial use. The name "Barnimages" is confusing because they have beautiful photos of all sorts of things, not barns. I actually first found the website almost by accident because I needed an image to depict a rural setting, but then discovered that "Barnimages" isn't about barn images. Ha ha. Don't let the name fool you. This site is not a site full of barn images. I couldn't even find one actual image of a barn. They do, however, have a fairly large selection of simply beautiful stock images for personal or business use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The images are beautiful and spectacularly clear. There's no question these are quality photos. Plus, you can't find the images anywhere else; they're not 'stock' photos but rather are all taken by Barnimages themselves. The free collection is large and growing, and you don't feel shorted by the free-versus-paid selection. They also include a "freebies" section where they provide links and downloads for fonts, backgrounds/textures, mockups, etc. Web-based, access from anywhere. Some of these photos come in handy when you're doing a rendering which is then heavily photoshopped. But even then, it takes heavy perspective and skew distortion on most photos to be truly useful in architectural photoshopping. There aren't enough 'texture' and 'pattern' photos to make the site really truly useful for architectural renderings, which is 95% of what we would use it for.
