Barnimages has absolutely beautiful photos that somehow seem to have more of a personal or intimate feel to them than standard stock photos. They don't charge anything for their photos, but you can donate if you choose. They allow you to use these really incredible photos for personal or commercial use. **What do you dislike about Barnimages?** The name "Barnimages" is confusing because they have beautiful photos of all sorts of things, not barns. I actually first found the website almost by accident because I needed an image to depict a rural setting, but then discovered that "Barnimages" isn't about barn images. Ha ha. **Recommendations to others considering Barnimages:** Please don't assume that this site is for pictures of barns. It has beautiful images with a variety of subjects. **What problems is Barnimages solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sometimes you really need to convey that feeling of intimacy, especially when I'm working on a project for a charity. These images capture that feeling. ### 2. This site is not a site full of barn images. I couldn't even find one actual image of a barn. They do, however, have a fairly large selection of simply beautiful stock images for personal or business use. **What do you dislike about Barnimages?** I really like this site for innovative and creative free stock photos. Just wish they actually had barn images. 😉 **Recommendations to others considering Barnimages:** Great free site for stock photos. This site is able to offer this by relying on tips if you download their photos. So please, don't forget to leave them a little something to let them know that you appreciate their beautiful photos! **What problems is Barnimages solving and how is that benefiting you?** Barnimages does not charge for the use of any of their stock photos. I have used their photos on many email blasts and a few websites. Just gorgeous! ### 3. There's no question these are quality photos. Plus, you can't find the images anywhere else; they're not 'stock' photos but rather are all taken by Barnimages themselves. The free collection is large and growing, and you don't feel shorted by the free-versus-paid selection. They also include a "freebies" section where they provide links and downloads for fonts, backgrounds/textures, mockups, etc. Web-based, access from anywhere. **What do you dislike about Barnimages?** Some of these photos come in handy when you're doing a rendering which is then heavily photoshopped. But even then, it takes heavy perspective and skew distortion on most photos to be truly useful in architectural photoshopping. There aren't enough 'texture' and 'pattern' photos to make the site really truly useful for architectural renderings, which is 95% of what we would use it for. **Recommendations to others considering Barnimages:** If you want stock photos that don't look like every other stock photo, check here. It's free, so you can't really go wrong to just try it. If you're looking primarily for flat or patterned photos, this might not be for you, but considering the cost (zero), it's worth taking a look. **What problems is Barnimages solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's great for non-stock stock photos. Putting together a mood board or presentation? It's a one stop shop for unique free images.
