Loom has always been a bit challenging to get to actually start and run. Will it just disappear when I click record? Will I be able to select the correct screen or window? And recently, it simply doesn't run at all on my computer--due either to an update to Loom or to Windows, I suppose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Loom is its incredible ease of use combined with its speed. I can start recording my screen in just a couple of clicks and share the link instantly, which has drastically improved my workflow. One minor downside is that occasionally there can be slight glitches when recording, especially if the internet connection is unstable. Sometimes the video might take a bit longer to process or upload if the connection drops. It's not a frequent issue, but it can be a bit frustrating when you are in a rush. It is very easy to record and share a quick video without having to schedule a meeting. I use it quite often when I need to explain something to the client or showcase about the previous experience working on similar project, this software very useful for me. Few areas where I believe the software could improve. 1. Sometimes processing larger videos can take a little longer time than expected especially with larger recordings 2. Editing options could be a bit more advanced. The basic editing tools are useful but having more flexibility to edit, trim, or organize recordings would make it even better for professional use 3. Advance filtering options needs to be there in the platform. I really stuck when I want to find any past videos from the larger files/recorded videos it becomes difficult for me. If the platform has tagging options or folder based options that would be helpful in organizing 4. Another would be the meeting captions or transcript of the screen recording is not accurate all the time. Loom nails the basics. Recording a quick screen and camera video takes seconds, and the link is ready to share as soon as I stop recording. It's perfect for walking teammates through a bug, a PR, or a design without scheduling a meeting, and viewers can watch at their own pace and leave comments right on the video. I like that I can send a video recording to explain a complex matter without worrying about downloading MP4s, transferring files, or hosting them. Loom is easy to use, simple, and quick, with a simple, intuitive UI/UX. Staff can basically run with the platform without much issue, and onboarding and setup are very easy. I like how easy Loom is to use. I can launch it from the browser extension, record my window no matter which application I’m showing, and make simple videos. Sharing is easy too: I can send a link or embed a video in an email. Videos are easier to consume than long paragraphs, which can get ignored or skipped, and they save us from typing them out. I wish Loom’s embedding experience were a little easier and more flexible. I find it a little difficult to embed the videos I create in Loom in other places. I found the initial setup relatively easy, but it takes extra steps to set up my account and install the extension, and there are a few steps to make sure everything is set up and working correctly. I use Loom to add context to instructions, questions, or concerns and get them to employees or leadership quickly without scheduling a meeting. I can share a couple of minutes of thoughts while recording my screen, like when a tool is broken or I’m reviewing something before it goes live. I like that it integrates directly into Chrome and just works—it does exactly what it says it will do. I mostly use and value screen recording with audio, with or without video. The Chrome extension is super easy to install, and the video length and free-tier video allotment work for what I need.
