"Streamlined Voice Agent Prototyping for Client Intake Workflows"
4.5/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

I value the Voice Agent Playground because it lets me test conversational workflows before committing to a full application implementation. For a freelance software development project, I configured a client-intake assistant with a custom system prompt, an introductory greeting, the Eve (US English) voice, and minimum and maximum silence thresholds. I also configured a custom `capture_project_requirements` function to explore how project information could be collected in a structured format. During testing, I used follow-up questions to clarify the application's user types, appointment scheduling requirements, notifications, and payment expectations. Being able to review the conversation directly in the browser made it easier to assess the agent's questioning flow and refine its instructions. This shortened the feedback loop during prototyping without requiring me to build the complete client-facing interface first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

The main area I would improve is the debugging visibility during voice-agent testing. When a technical term is misunderstood or a follow-up question does not produce the expected result, it can take several iterations to determine whether the issue comes from speech recognition, the system prompt, or the agent's interpretation of the conversation. A clearer, step-by-step trace of recognized speech, tool-call decisions, and the resulting conversation state would make troubleshooting more direct. I would also appreciate more explicit guidance for validating custom functions, including expected inputs, outputs, and failure cases. These improvements would make it easier to assess reliability before moving a prototype into a production application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Test Voice Agents with a Great Playground and Real-Time Transcription"
5/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

What I like most about AssemblyAI is how easy it is to use and test. I especially like the Playground because I can quickly try voice agents and adjust the prompt, voice, and other settings without needing much setup. The templates are also useful for trying different use cases.

I also appreciate that there’s solid developer support through the API, plus Python and JS options. The $50 credit is a nice bonus because it gives enough room to test the platform properly. Real-time transcription with interruption controls is another feature I personally like, and it’s something I didn’t see in others. To be honest Platform walkthrough was great , so i will say UI UX of the platform was self explanatory but overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

Some settings need a bit of testing before I can get the output I’m looking for. I also feel the pricing can become expensive as usage increases, especially on bigger projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, accurate speech-to-text API that was simple to set up in Python"
4/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

The transcription accuracy is remarkably high, even when handling background noise and diverse speaker accents. The Python SDK makes integration simple and fast, requiring just a few lines of code to get running. Having built-in speech intelligence features like speaker diarization, auto-punctuation, and content summarisation directly within the API response saves substantial development and pipeline orchestration time. What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

Real-time streaming transcription can occasionally encounter brief latency spikes during fluctuating network condition compared to asynchronous batch processing. in addition, the usage-based pricing can scale up quickly when running high volume production jobs across thousands of audio hours, and accuracy for uncommon regional dialects and technical domain jargon could be enhanced further. "Impressively Accurate Transcription with Powerful LeMUR Speech Understanding"
5/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

The transcription accuracy on conversational and multi-speaker audio is impressively high, especially with the newer Universal models. Beyond raw ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), the real standout for me is LeMUR and the integrated speech-understanding layer. Being able to handle speaker diarization, PII redaction, and direct LLM-based structured extraction or summarization within the same workflow drastically simplifies backend voice pipelines. The SDKs (especially Python) and the REST/WebSocket APIs also feel developer-friendly and have been reliable in my experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

While streaming latency is competitive, handling overlapping dialogue in noisy environments with heavy regional accents still occasionally requires custom keyterm prompting. Additionally, usage costs can add up quickly if running heavy LeMUR queries on long audio files at scale, so monitoring token consumption and setting up caching is necessary. "Building a More Natural Voice Support Experience for Ride-Related Requests"
4/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

The strongest part of AssemblyAI was the real-time voice interaction for our ride-support workflow. We used it to prototype an assistant that could check ride status, provide ETA information, capture driver-related issues, and route those requests through defined actions. The conversation flow felt much closer to a support call than a basic speech-to-text interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

The configuration can become fairly detailed once the voice agent needs multiple tools, parameters, and response behaviors. For a support workflow with several actions, getting the tool definitions and prompts aligned takes some iteration before the conversations behave consistently. "Accurate, Scalable Speech-to-Text APIs with Developer-Friendly Docs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

What I like best about AssemblyAI is its accurate and reliable speech-to-text capabilities along with its easy-to-use APIs. The platform makes it simple to integrate advanced audio intelligence features such as transcription, speaker identification, summarization, and sentiment analysis into applications. I also appreciate its developer-friendly documentation, scalability, and ability to handle real-time audio processing, which helps accelerate the development of voice-based applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

One area where AssemblyAI could improve is that advanced features and customization options may require some additional learning, especially for teams that are new to speech AI technologies. The accuracy can also vary depending on audio quality, accents, background noise, and domain-specific terminology. For large-scale usage, pricing and usage-based costs may need careful management. More built-in tools for fine-tuning models and deeper enterprise-level controls would make the platform even more flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick Setup, Clear Docs, and Smooth Real-Time Transcription"
4/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

What I like most is how quickly I was able to get up and running. The documentation is clear, the API is straightforward to integrate, and the real-time transcription runs smoothly. I also appreciate the Playground, since it makes it easy to test speech-to-text features before building them into an application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

One area I’d like to see improved is better guidance for first-time users when they start exploring the more advanced features. "Accurate, Fast Transcription That Handles Messy Audio with Ease"
4.5/5
What do you like best about AssemblyAI?

What I like best about AssemblyAI is how accurate and fast the transcription is, even with technical or messy audio. It handles different accents, background noise, and long recordings better than most tools I’ve tried. The API is straightforward, so integrating it into workflows feels smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AssemblyAI?

The only drawback is that some edge‑case audio still needs manual cleanup, especially when multiple speakers overlap or the recording quality drops. A few advanced features feel slightly technical to configure, so it takes a bit of trial and error to get the best results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
