We use it to gather data that we can use to sell into mobile app companies, I've often grabbed data from apptopia and been told by x publisher I'm way off. Pretty hard to get next steps with bad data. When using the prospector despite refining search parameters to be specific it only populates the same apps over and over and these apps are well outside the specific search parameters. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing data about mobile apps for us to leverage into sales calls with publishers ### 2. They are able to make everything accessible and easy to find. My app was a black hole and they made it easy to find out who was looking for us. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** It's hard to say exactly what I don't like but sometimes it's too much information. But other than that I don't have too many complaints. It's a good program. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were trying to figure out what our app was doing and they were able to show us exactly what was going on. You have both iOS and Android, so better vs. SimilarWeb. It provides the same value as AppAnnie but is much cheaper. I loved the sentiment and comments function—a fantastic tool for market research. For instance, you can export the reviews and get instant customer feedback. We have used it as an input for our sentiment analysis tool. It was much easier to source comments thanks to that. We have once done a project about delivery apps (during pandemic), and AppAnnie was the only tool that could provide us with the necessary data input. Also, the team is very helpful, they can pull the data for you if needed - super responsive, very client-centric, and definitely well-organized. If you consider the features, I personally think that peer-to-peer comparison was the most useful. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** Exporting functions should be better; right now, it's not that easy to compile outputs. For instance, you can have only a few players in one go. It means you land with multiple Excel sheets you need to collect. Probably it was a problem only for our use case, but it was a challenge. Also, I didn't use that much of the internal app benchmarking, as we were doing mostly outside-in analyses. I think that creating a separate pricing plan, specific for PE/VC funds, consulting firms, and advisory firms can be beneficial. I still miss using this tool for market research purposes. Amazing value. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Market benchmarking, market research, customer insights. We have used it to provide our clients with the assessments needed to drive potential optimization goals. For instance, as a case study, we have worked with a banking player, the analyses showed improvement opportunities in engagement and which led towards a new project. ### 6. We were looking for information from large publishers, and we couldn't get that through Apptopia. There are some lack of informations about the apps. There are some unnecessary applications with small amount of users. There could be more SDKs in the platform. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can compare apps easily and see the specific data of the apps. The graphs and tables provided provides good insights. It is useful when I want to evaluate the apps in the market. ### 8. Also, the accuracy of the reports generated is also quite high. We can also view what technology is being used to developed and tools and what changes are being made at the back end technologies with the progress of time. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** It is quite expensive so we have to invest a lot of time to take approval from the management. In addition, Apptopia is an excellent tool to spy on competitors' keywords. one of the best parts is the keyword ranking for competitors. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** Apptopia doesn't provide hourly store ranking for Appstore and Google Play, it means you may miss some important hourly ranks there, In addition the price tag is high for startups, looking forward some generous offers for early-stage startups **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** When you wanna check your app category ranking, lot's of the ASO tools doesn't provide more than the top 200 apps on Google Play, But thanks Apptopia, they have a report of top 500 apps daily. also You can create alerts to help you stay on top of changes in the market. ### 13. I usually have to send email ,typing every app link. Then what's the point of "Request SDK button"? There are chat service inside apptopia, in which nobody answers even if I send several times. If you need support, you have to send email directly which makes no sense of chat services. So, overall Apptopia does looks nice when you go to site, they say "We can get a lot of app data" which is definately not true. **Recommendations to others considering Apptopia:** If you expect Apptopia for getting SDK information, for now I don't recommend you. Apptopia support says that will be improved,but they didn't give me information about when it will be. Maybe just ask Apptopia to check if SDK feature is working, with showing this review. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** When there are SDK information I can assume who is customer and who is not. Also you can filter the revenue information and make reports ### 14. It's especially useful to see downloads by country, as it gives me insight into which games are likely in soft launch or region-specific. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** It would be nice to see when apps are featured, but nothing really comes to mind. **Recommendations to others considering Apptopia:** Not sure of the cost, but from my limited experience, Apptopia seems to be quite a bit lighter than a service like App Annie, for example. I would assume it's less expensive. For my needs, Apptopia is perfect, but it really depends on your role and how granular you want to be on the data and performance side. You should do your own research and see which USP wins you over. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Apptopia is a huge help in tracking app release dates, updates, and performance, without needing to bug our customer for that information. A poorly performing app or slow rollout could indicate a risk to our business relationship with that developer/publisher, so it helps us be more proactive in servicing our clients. ### 16. We use this tool for all around insight into apps and their parent companies for prospecting purposes. **What do you dislike about Apptopia?** I wish that we could build reports based off of market size (SMB, MM, & ENT). Because Apptopia does not offer this we have to go back and forth between apptopia and linkedin to determine the market size. **Recommendations to others considering Apptopia:** Add a report building feature to filter by "App last updated" AND by market size. That would make the product worth much more in my opinion. **What problems is Apptopia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Apptopia has really decreased the amount of back and forth researching we do on a daily basis.
