I would not say that there is anything I like best. **What do you dislike about Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch?** Between the installer and Alcatel-Lucent neither have been willing/able to fix the issues we have. They made assurances prior to the install that their switches could do what we need, and that has not been the case. We have had issues with repeated ducked phone calls and unanswered emails. **What problems is Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch solving and how is that benefiting you?** There have been no improvements over our old switches. ### 2. Their R&D arm hails back from a team of highly experienced engineers from communication industry. **What do you dislike about Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch?** There's really nothing that happens to be a dislike. One imp aspect, they can improve is on their marketing (which is currently underdone), public events and most importantly partner ecosystem+ distributor channel. And probably price-point is something they can revisit to make them more competitive. However, all in all they are absolutely value for money product kind of company. **Recommendations to others considering Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch:** I would definitely recommend Alcatel Switching platforms to the user community. They are built on robust hardware, very strong and enriched OS (only 1 major release per year). Moreover, they have temperature hardened variants at very attractive price-points best suit for harsh environmental conditions and locations where air conditioning is not possible. They also have products in various form-factors (fixed chassis, modular chassis, stackable, etc.) making it more convinient and flexible offering when it comes to making a choice for your networking requirements considering current and future needs. They also specialize in manufacturing ruggedized, industrial grade, outdoor switches. **What problems is Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch solving and how is that benefiting you?** Omniswitch series for L2 networking is very built on very promising technology. The platform is very robust. Specially the OS is branched from their deeply experienced R&D arm of their mother concern (Alcatel) who is the pioneer in technology and innovations when it comes to carrier grade networks & service provider technology. ### 3. Their switches have a very long supported lifespan, which makes it easier on the budget. ### 4. Very good quality of the component so you can have it for a while. A lot of different switch for every budget. Life garanty for all the switches. **What do you dislike about Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch?** The firmware update could be more simple than the FTP method. **Recommendations to others considering Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch:** You can buy that good quality switches with closed eyes.
