## Datto Networking Reviews
  ### 1. Great experience as a Managed Services Provider supporting SMBs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan d. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

They integrate very nicely with the rest of Datto's ecosystem, in our case Autotask and Datto RMM. We do not have deep internal networking skills, but the devices were very easy to setup and they are even easier to manage. Nearly zero touch for a couple of years now.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

I am sure more knowledgeable networking specialists will find something to mention, but for us, the devices just work and have all the features we need for our SMB customers.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a single pane of glass for all out internal switches, as well as our customer's. Additionally, something that integrated with our current PSA and remote management tool was a must. We have been delighted with our choice so far.

  ### 2. Nice switches for an office

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nolan T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

I really liked they came with all of the mounting hardware and brackets for those times you don't have any. Plus poe per port is awesome. Love the ability to blip power per port to reboot devices.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

They've been solid so far, no issues to note.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Per port poe for phones and ap's and whatever needs it.

  ### 3. Fantastic product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The ease of use is great. Inovations and advancements are clearly seen

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Integration isn't available yet with VSAX. I would love to see the DNA with the switches and APS in the center portal

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can now have lower level technicians configure firewalls

  ### 4. Great tool for simplified wifi deployments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Plug and play, after configuration, we can add a new ap to a network and plug it in

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Some configuration restrictions, would like more flexibility

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick deployment to clients, in many instances we do not even go on site for installation

  ### 5. Works great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayaz A. | Service Manager (IT), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

None. We like it. There have been no issues so far.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its fast and easy to setup and manage.

  ### 6. We moved from Fortinet due to ease of deployment and centralized management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan J. | COO/CTO Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Central control, ease of deployment and firmware updates

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Dna needs to be in the same portal as the other network stacj

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid deployment of a secure yet simple perimeter security appliance

  ### 7. Datto Networking Switches: Greater Remote Management features but at a generally higher price point

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

We aquired a client that had a small number of Datto Networking switches. When we assumed management of these, we found that several of the remote management features added more value than we had expected. That said, the higher price point that the intial purchsae of these typically carries, makes it a tough sell for our client base (typically smaller physician offices)

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Cost, cost, cost... Based on the limted exposure we have had to the Datto Networking switches, I can't really say we've found any negatives aside from their higher price point at the time of the intial purchase.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have these deployed to a small in house data center at an out of state client location. The ability to remotely manage these switches is key and has worked as expected without issue.

  ### 8. Datto WAPs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin K. | Manager of Systems Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The reporting and functionality of the UI. The Simplicity to spin up a new site, register the new devices and have SSIDs broadcasting in under 10 minutes. The hardware is clean looking and once you know what the light colors and codes mean you can quickly diagnose issues with your devices.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

The cost has gone up significantly since Kaseye bought them out. Their switches changed overnight from around $400 to close to $2500 so its not a small change. With active quotes out there it did hurt us and fortunately Datto honored any current standing quotes at the previous price for a certain time window. I would say the direction Kaseya is taking things leaves some to be desired in that way.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A robost integrated Meshed WiFi system with advanced reporting. A system that fully supports the latest WiFi Technologies and allows dynamic control of your network.

  ### 9. Easy to use Cloud managed wireless access points

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Network Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The ease of deploying an access point. Its really just add in the mac address and ensure you have all the settings you want set in the portal. Once it checks home your access point has been deployed. This makes it very easy to manages hundreds if not thousands of access points.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

The ease of use does come with some setbacks as they are not fully customizable, some of the access points do not have SSH ability. Meaning any information you want off the access point needs set up to log and then sent to a remote Syslog server.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to manage hundreds of access points with ease. Nothing is more frustrating than having to keep track and manage hundreds of devices using different tools.

  ### 10. Their support is excellent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kosta D. | Marketing Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Datto respected the price quotes when the transition happened after Kaseya acquired them. The user-friendly interface is fantastic. They quickly reconnect without trouble.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

While Datto WiFi lacking in terms of cost. The solution does not fit well within budget constraints. Managing hundreds of access points is time consuming.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datto WiFi solves all our connectivity problems by providing WiFi products. Our staff now work without any disruptions to our network. This has boosted the productivity of our business operations.

  ### 11. Missing features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Remote management. Out of band remote management.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

No static ip for failover. Limited advanced features.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Avoiding multi hour site visits. Less time on road or plane. More project hours available.

  ### 12. Finally Wireless That is Manageable!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Datto WiFi is a solution that makes managing multiple groups of access points across various clients seamless and simple.
Gone are the days of shifting in and out of different portals, logging into on-site controllers and worrying about keeping a headless PC up and running to administer your access points.

Datto wireless products are easy to setup, and all communicate to the cloud. Design is as easy as connecting to power or POE and registering the MAC address (which pre-populates) into the portal, and you're off to the races.

You can set up templates for access point types to make deployment even faster.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Managing the PoE budget for the new AP6 hardware can be tricky.
However, this is due more in part to issues with the hardware supply chain, than it is with Datto Networking.
Due to those supply chain issues, it can be difficult to get the hardware you need when you need it.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a WiFi solution that was easy to set up and manage and did not cost our clients an arm and a leg.
Datto's pricing falls right beneath some of its direct competition while providing significantly more options for setup and configuration than some of the cheaper options on the market.

  ### 13. The Datto DNA is the Most User-Friendly Firewall on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zackary W. | President, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The Datto DNA is easy to install, easy to configure and simple to manage.
Everything about its form and function provides ease of use.
From setting up VLANS or VPNs to routing inbound traffic, the Datto DNA does it all from a single pane of glass without the need to complex object generation.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

It would be nice to have more control over the OpenVPN configuration by being able to add custom ports, etc on the DNA without support's backend assistance.
Other than that, it just works.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an easy to manage security appliance.
The DNA provides all of the needed security settings of a normal firewall, while also providing advanced offerings that you typically see on some of the other big name units. However, unlike Cisco, Dell, Sophos, and the other big name brands, setup and configuration is painless.

  ### 14. Simple WiFi Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Ease of use despite having a robust number of features.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Could be more intuitive in access of managign devices.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing single point of management for all our wireless network devices.

  ### 15. Easy to manage network equipment

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Datto switch's are already connected to their management portal so all that is required is to boot and connect to network.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Pricing have increase making them a difficult recommendation for smaller clients.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reliable switch's that are easy to deploy and manage.

  ### 16. The Datto DNA is a must have for MSPs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The Datto DNA allows us to remotely configure a brand-new firewall without needing to go onsite.

With the built-in LTE connectivity, you can access the device from the Datto Partner Portal and configure everything to get the customer up and running.

Also, as an added benefit of having the built-in LTE, it can be used as a failover if the customer's primary internet connection ever goes offline. So gone are the days of having a business coming to a complete standstill if their ISP is down.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Troubleshooting on DNAs can only be done with the tools provided to you in the GUI Datto provides in their partner portal. If you need to do any advanced troubleshooting or would like a more detailed log list of events, you have to call Datto support to assist you further. They have access to more advanced tools that you would usually be allowed to utilize by other networking appliances.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to easily deploy new firewalls and teaching engineers who have little networking experience though but are fast.

Since we are an MSP, having a standardized Firewall for all of our customers makes training new employees simple. This allows us to log into the Datto partner portal that is 2FA secured and manage all of our clients without having to open up WAN or connect to a VPN. This means we no longer have to worry about WAN attacks since the DNA is only accessed from the portal. When going with a DNA, you are not compromising, however, getting a firewall that is simple to use, is secure and is back with dedicated 24/7/ support.

  ### 17. The DNA's ease of setup and features make it just what we need.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark R. | Level 2 Support Engineer

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Device installation and configuration is extremely easy. The ease of the physical installation is excellent, and all your configurations are done through a single easy-to-use UI, from setting up DHCP scopes, VPN, and Wi-Fi.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

It would be nice if we could create new ports without having to call backend support. Other than that, everything else we need is provided with ease of use.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to see how many devices are connected to the network. We have a client who was using their old firewall as a WAP. So the ability to use the DNA as a Wireless Access Point is a great feature to have.

  ### 18. Great, but getting better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Ease of configuration and ease of deployment

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

Drops too often and connects quickly, but shouldn't happen

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not sure

  ### 19. Datto Networking Mesh Wifi solutions work well

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent R. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Datto Networking devices are reliable and fast, with good coverage. I have experience with their DNA routers as well as the access points, and like the solution. The willingness of Datto to work with MSP's and help them with system layout/design as well as with sales incentives and technical support is excellent.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

The only real downside is the monthly recurring fees for the hardware. However, this buys the previously mentioned excellent level of support that you won't get from many other vendors.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the Datto DNA routers in applications where Internet downtime is costly. They switch over to cellular data seamlessly when needed and keep clients operational. The mesh access points are great for a seamless wireless experience which is even more important in larger facilities or where crowds gather, such as in meeting halls.

  ### 20. Robust and simple to manage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

The web interface accessible from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

The interface can be a little confusing.

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides managed switches that don't require as many onsite visits.

  ### 21. Good Wi-Fi Products

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Datto Networking?**

Reliable access points, variety of products for different use cases, valuable cloud-based management tools.

**What do you dislike about Datto Networking?**

The monthly fees are the biggest downside (they didn't exist on Openmesh prior to the Datto acquisition )

**What problems is Datto Networking solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Works well for small and mid-sized cloud-based managed Wi-Fi solutions
