"Bringing Learning, Performance, and People Development Together"
5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

I love how easy Acorn is to use! It packs a lot of functionality into a clean, intuitive platform without feeling overwhelming. It's customizable, user-friendly, and approachable, even for team members who aren't particularly comfortable with technology.

What really stands out to me is how Acorn connects learning with performance, professional growth, and career progression. It encourages us to think beyond traditional training and consider how we can support meaningful, long-term development for our people.

I also appreciate the visibility, reporting, and ability to incorporate assessments into one-on-ones. Having that information available helps managers recognize patterns, track progress, and have more meaningful conversations throughout the year. It creates opportunities for fewer surprises during performance reviews and makes difficult conversations a little easier.

And I can't say enough good things about the Acorn team! They're kind, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely interested in understanding our needs. They've made the implementation process feel manageable and collaborative. What I appreciate most is that they don't just show you how something works. They help you understand how to apply it in ways that actually make sense for your organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

Acorn is continuing to grow, and there are a few areas where the functionality hasn't quite caught up with what we're looking to accomplish.

One example is one-on-one check-ins. We need a simpler way to document ongoing conversations without requiring a full assessment each time, so we've had to get a little creative with workarounds. My understanding is that additional functionality is being developed, which I'm excited to see.

We're also exploring Acorn's point-tracking functionality for our pay-for-performance model. While the ability to automatically calculate points is great, accumulating and managing points across the different areas of our model has been a little more challenging than anticipated.

Neither has been a dealbreaker, but improvements in these areas would make an already strong platform even more valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Learner-Friendly Interface with a Flexible Central Activity Bank"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

The interface is simple and straightforward for learners. The central library (activity bank) means we can update learning pathways quickly and simply without having to update each course individually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

There are some data views which are not available - such as understanding easily which learners have been assigned to an individual course or programme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"New Adopter in Process of Implementation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

Easy to create and manage basic content with videos, knowledge checks and assessments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

We need the ability to have knowledge check questions and assessment questions read audibly to our learners who may not necessarily need a screen reader but would benefit from being able to have one- off questions and instructions read to them. We wanted more expertise and specifics about how best to implement the system for our use case. We would like to have the option to have video content automatically play at times. The knowledge check results are delayed once a learner has clicked submit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Keith Metcalfe of Acorn

Thanks for the detailed feedback during your implementation, and apologies for the slow reply here. Good to hear the content, knowledge check and assessment tools are working well as a central repository with reliable completion tracking. On the delayed knowledge check results after submit, that isn't expected behaviour, so please have your success manager log it with support and we'll investigate. The audio read-aloud for questions and the optional video autoplay are both noted as feature requests; on the video side, a tangentially related enhancement did land in Release 1.7.16 (July 2026) with configurable video completion percentage thresholds, though that controls how much of a video counts as complete rather than autoplay itself. Accessibility also remains an active area of investment, with text scaling and screen-reader improvements in Releases 1.7.13 (June 2026) and 1.7.15 (July 2026), though question read-aloud specifically isn't available today. Our Quiz Plus guide at https://help.acorn.works/help-centre/how-to-create-a-quiz-plus-activity covers the current question and feedback options, and your success manager can set up a session focused on your use case, which also addresses the implementation guidance you were after.

"New to LMS and Loving Acorn’s Intuitive Platform and Excellent Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

Our nonprofit has finally took the plunge to get an LMS, and Acorn has made this transition super smooth. The system is user friendly and intuitive, and the customer support has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

As new LMS-users, there is a bit of a learning curve to the system, and we are having to upload most of our content ourselves. Acorn has provided guidance, but we weren't prepared for the number of staff hours this would take. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Acorn Performance LMS of Acorn

Thanks for the detailed feedback, we wanted to circle back on it. Good to hear the move from spreadsheets and forms has gone smoothly and that the support has helped you settle in. On the content-upload effort, you're not alone in finding the first-time load heavier than expected; our migration guide at https://help.acorn.works/help-centre/migrating-users-courses-and-completions-to-acorn and the bulk upload tools for users, enrolments and completions can take a lot of the manual work out of it, and your success manager can help sequence the remaining content so it's less staff-intensive. On the automation you're looking forward to, Release 1.7.13 (June 2026) rebuilt the Momentum experience so reminders, emails and workflows are easier to build and test, which should pay off once your content is in. Appreciate you taking the time.

"Customizable and User-Friendly, but Reporting Falls Short"
3/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

I like how customizable and user-friendly Acorn’s dashboard is. I can have our own banners, widgets, and setup that meet our team’s needs. Acorn hosts all our existing learning content and makes it relatively easy to add more. It also gives us a centralized platform for training and SOP-related documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

I find Acorn’s reporting could be better. I’m also not able to assign resources, and there’s no scoring in Momentums. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Team Support and Onboarding with Acorn PLMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

The best part about working with Acorn PLMS is their team. I get quick responses to my questions and know they are actively working to solve any problems I encounter. They have an excellent onboarding experience and work hard to make sure the you feel comfortable getting started with the platform, and then continue that support as your use grows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

The only downside I have encountered is the struggle to integrate SCORM quiz results into reportable systems within Acorn. Acorn does have a quizzing system that can determine whether or not a person has passed or failed a course, but it doesn't take the results from a SCORM file, or have non-graded input options if you just want to collect information vs. correct or incorrect responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Keith Metcalfe of Acorn

Thanks so much for the kind words about the team — it really means a lot to hear, and we're glad the onboarding experience set you up well.

It's great to know the Tenancy system has been such a strong tool for delivering branded learning experiences across multiple organisations and helping you build new revenue streams — that's exactly what it's designed to do.

On the SCORM quiz results point, you've identified a good idea: results from quizzes built inside a SCORM package don't currently flow into Acorn's own reporting and quiz tools — those are separate systems. That's a feature request we've noted.

In the meantime, there are a couple of things worth knowing:

SCORM Logs — You can view each learner's SCORM activity in detail, including the events and actions they took within the package. This gives you visibility into attempt-level data, though it's best suited for reviewing individual learner activity rather than aggregated reporting.

Feedback and Form activities — If you want to collect information from learners without scoring it as right or wrong, our Feedback and Form activity types are designed for exactly that. They capture open-ended responses, checkbox selections, and other input without applying a pass/fail result.

xAPI activities — For richer result tracking where your content supports it, xAPI (also known as Tin Can) is available as a separate activity type with its own completion tracking.

Thanks again for the detailed and balanced feedback — it's genuinely useful for us. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else we can help with.

"Easy to Use, Simple to Configure, and Reasonably Priced"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

Generally easy to use and configure. Reasonably priced option Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

I really don't have anything that I dislike. Our use of the platform is probably a bit different than most as we are trying to train retail sales people that are part of our customers so configuring the system took a bit of effort but all worked out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Keith Metcalfe of Acorn

We appreciate your feedback on the configuration flexibility—training external retail customers is a valuable use case that demonstrates Acorn's adaptability. We thought you might like Release 1.7.16 (July 2026) adds configurable video completion thresholds for retail training workflows. "Acorn’s Modern, Intuitive PLMS Transformed Our PDA and Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Acorn?

Acorn is a user-friendly, intuitive, and modern PLMS system that offers a fantastic range of functionality. It has enabled us to digitise our PDA process, assess our organisational capabilities, and reimagine our reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acorn?

At present, we are unable to intergrate with MS teams as there are security concerns with how passwords are stored. This slowed our live learnings roll out however there is workarounds for this available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Acorn Performance LMS of Acorn

Thanks for the detailed feedback, we wanted to circle back. It's useful to hear Acorn has helped digitise your PDA process, assess your organisational capabilities, and rework your reporting. On MS Teams, the Live Learning integration is available and can be enabled through support at https://help.acorn.works/hc/en-us/articles/7565181496079-How-to-Create-a-Live-Learning-Integration-with-Microsoft-Teams, and Adobe Connect and GoToWebinar work as alternative session integrations if you need to keep the rollout moving in the meantime. Since your concern is specifically about how passwords are stored, the most relevant recent addition is self-serve Single Sign-On in Release 1.7.15 (July 2026), which lets users sign in with their existing Microsoft Entra identity rather than a password stored in Acorn.
