Locales made it significantly more expensive. They are well done, but.... The 100-item CMS limit is still restrictive, especially when working with filtered lists or complex relationships. Too many wrapper divs are auto-inserted in collection-based elements, which bloats the DOM. Native filtering and sorting should be inbuilt — not reliant on third-party scripts or hacks. Webflow nickel-and-dimes you for absolutely everything. Hosting is overpriced for the performance you get, CMS limits are absurd unless you keep upgrading, and even basic things like form submissions, extra sites, integrations, or collaboration features all trigger additional charges. The whole platform is designed to squeeze you into constant upsells. Once you’ve put hours into building inside their proprietary system, you’re basically locked in with no easy way out. Very user-friendly, no-code (if you don't want to), but still has a lot of advanced features & elements you can play with. The interactions are amazing and can elevate your page quickly without the need for any code. Webflow is also compatible with Spline, which has allowed us to experiment with animated heroes and that has been really exciting! We use Webflow everyday to make edits, create components & run A/B tests, and it's very reliable (Webflow Optimized). I think the best thing about Webflow is that it's intuitive enough that anyone can use it - whether it's for an individual portfolio or a scaling company with multiple landing pages. Some of the elements can be a bit glitchy - Spline scene blocks, dropdowns, grids. It's also nearly impossible to make a dropdown item be fullscreen, which has been one of my main obstacles lately. The items always start at the beginning of the toggle and it isn't open to change. I've tried doing 100vw and using the positioning to shift, but its a bit of a diy fix for now. I’ve been building in Webflow for over 4 years now, and honestly, no other builder even comes close. The balance between ease of use and creative freedom is incredible. Their website builder can be tricky at times and they suffer from many limitations that seem artificial (such as CMS nesting limits, only being able to include a limited number of types of listings on a page etc.). Educating new users is still somewhat challenging. Even with step-by-step instructions, we have difficulty in getting other team members to adopt it. When we hired new marketers, they wanted us to switch to hubspot as they found it too difficult to learn.

On the otherhand - as a technical person, I wish their was more ways to use CMS within the javascript components. I end up using things like Finsweet to get more out of Webflow.

What I love about Webflow is the built-in features it offers. I especially love the built-in backup feature. If something messes up with the current design, I can easily restore it in just a few clicks. No 3rd party plugins needed. I love that Webflow bridges the gap between designing the site and then developing it, allowing me to test, validate ideas and update quickly. My average website building time has went down from 20-40 hours to just 7-10 hours and is really a major upside. One of the mainUSPs of Webflow is it's interaction panel and GSAP features which have been added recently, most web builders lack the ability to create professional animations and interactions. And, Webflow's user experience is simply outstanding, it doesn't feel like a typical drag and drop tool but it helps us understand how it's getting structured. And I also highly appreciate webflow's promise of 99.9% uptime, which provides great reliability and to be honest I haven't faced any issues hosting my client websites on webflow, I have been hosting here for over 5+ years. I feel the pricing is very problematic. Generally speaking, the pricing has been consistently increasing year over year, no other website builders seem to upgrade their pricing at this rapid pace. The visual design interface is excellent, and writing HTML & CSS is remarkably pleasant and intuitive. It's an outstanding product for low-level web developers to learn about working with HTML and CSS design systems. The webhooks feature is great, and the flexibility with custom properties and attributes makes it very easy to integrate custom code. I really dislike the arbitrary CMS limits, such as the 60 max CMS fields and 10 max reference fields per collection. No srcsets for CMS images is really painful as well and seriously can hurt performance. Setting up multi-reference CMS structures for any CMS page with more than basic complexity is frustrating and unintuitive for clients to work with—it's even embarrassing to document sometimes. I've had to refactor multiple sites multiple times to accommodate more features because of these limits, and builds become very unwieldy as a result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
