Synergist has become a really strong platform for our agency, especially since we made the decision to manage workflow and capacity through it rather than relying on a standalone scheduling tool . What we particularly value is the end-to-end visibility Synergist gives us across client projects and the full project lifecycle, from quote through to invoicing. It acts as a single source of truth, providing real-time insight into both profitability and resource usage, which helps us make better day-to-day decisions with confidence.

For some colleagues, especially those who only use Synergist lightly for a handful of tasks, it can occasionally feel a bit overcomplicated.

**What do you like best about Synergist?**

I use Synergist for managing everything, including invoicing, scheduling, job tracking, and profit tracking. I love the data analytics views and flexible column views. It's great how it allows us to get into the data in a user-friendly way and connect all of the workflows within our business easily. The support from the team is great, especially the Superuser Syncs, and even when I find it a little tricky to navigate, the user support helps me pretty much immediately.

**What do you like best about Synergist?**

The benefit of using Synergist is having core, valuable data all in one place. The power of having a single source of truth gives great strength to agencies in making informed choices based on accurate data. 
Being able to see and access project and client data together. 
Using it's CRM, creating estimates and invoices, to scheduling resources in one place.
Pulling reports based on that combined data and ease agency meetings with live and accurate data is Synergist at it's best! 
Especially now the system is regularly getting updates, they listen to feedback and strive to make their system as powerful and useful as possible. Improving functionality and UI all the time. 
I highly recommend both Synergist and Agency Works to any Agency looking to consolidate their systems/data.

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

The current downsides are some restrictions on pulling reports and what you can see within the system versus exporting reports. But I know they're currently working to improve that. 
The other is that once you're fully utilising the system it can be a little slow sometimes as a SaaS. But that is common amongst these types of systems.

**What problems is Synergist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, we relied on several different platforms and maintained separate documentation to manage our agency's workflows. Now, by consolidating our processes into fewer systems, we save both time and money that would have been spent on additional SaaS tools, and we only need to enter data into a single system.

**What do you like best about Synergist?**

The best thing about Synergist is that it’s a single platform ( = single cost) covering multiple functions - lead, prospect, and client CRM, studio task management including Kanban, and A–Z project management. The reporting can also be as top-level or as detailed as you need.
I often hear agency ops people complain about how pricey and difficult it is to make their 3-5 different tools 'talk', and how hard it is to scale as the agency grows. I think we won that lottery with Synergist - from licensing to functionality and complexity, we can tailor almost everything to suit the current needs.
Also, the support is brilliant — they usually reply within 10 minutes, and have an extensive resource library.

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

Maybe not the prettiest to look at, but much improved since their latest release and now catching up with the newer, shinier-looking competitors.

**What problems is Synergist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility through the time tracking functionality - we can weight billable time vs non-billable, see how much time was spend on things and revise our pricing accordingly. 
Task management - ties up directly to the Job and has a 'quick timesheet' option to minimise errors.
Quotes and invoicing - comes in our template, ties back to the Job and Client.

**What do you like best about Synergist?**

Our agency has been a customer pf Synergist for a number of years but we've not necessarily been using it to it's full potential. We've recently made the business decision to manage workflow and capacity via Synergist and first we were skeptical about the usability when compared to a specific scheduling tool such as Float or Resource Guru.

I'm pleased to say I was wrong. There have been significant improvements in v14 to how these features work and our migration has gone swimmingly.

This is in no small part down to the excellent onboarding we had from Jules at Agency Works. She went out of her way to make sure all of queries and concerns were acknowledged, ensuring that our delivery team fully learnt the process at the right pace.

The whole agency is now ready top go with our new scheduling and capacity management from Monday. Thank you!

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

The huge pros outweigh the (very) minor cons. It would be nice to remove the option to display the actual time and include only the number of hours and to be able to order how bookings stack (when multiple on the same day). Not a showstopper by any means though.

Accurate costing and job recovery.

**What do you like best about Synergist?**

Synergist has enabled us to have end to end visibility of our clients projects.
It provides one version of the truth, giving us real-time insight into profitability and resource usage and deals with everything in the project lifecycle from quote to invoicing.

The reporting features are particularly strong enabling both pre-set and customisable user defined reports to be generated.  The reporting has been pivotal to our management information (particularly during covid when reporting requirements changed overnight) as our business and requirements change.

Its integration with accounting tools (like Xero) streamlines invoicing and cost management, reduces duplication of effort.

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

The learning curve can be steep for new users, as some features are hidden behind multiple layers of menus and setting up advanced reports can be tricky for people who don't use this regularly but ongoing training and support is available from Synergist's consultancy partner so you can have confidence you can get what you need.

Some project management functionality could be better but I am aware this is an area Synergist are looking at and with their new more regular updates and releases we are looking forward to what changes this brings.

Managing projects from quoting to invoicing and giving visibility of their progress and ultimate profitability, enabling us to be proactive in managing them or mitigating scope creep.

Synergist acts as a single source of truth for our agency, bringing everything together in one place which makes managing projects much clearer. The scheduling feature with requisitions is really helpful for resourcing and briefing, it allows us to plan work accurately and keeps everyone on the same page. There’s a broad range of functionality, so there’s lots of potential to tailor it to your specific needs, which is great. The support staff are brilliant and always there to help with any queries and any suggestions we make to help improve the system are added to the next update.

The biggest challenge is the initial learning curve, it can take a bit of time to get fully comfortable with all the features. Some users find certain processes a bit manual, and there’s definitely room for better integration with other tools we use.

The shear amount of differing feature can lead to a very admin heavy process.  its easy to get over excited about the possible reporting capabilities and create a process that is long and cumbersome for the user.

It is relatively easy to use, the training and support videos are excellent and they constantly look to improve the system with regular enhancements and updates.  It is an excellent project management tool and integrates well with our accounts package. There are lots of different parts within synergist from sales nurturing through to project management, cost management and billing all of which allow you to capture important data.    We use it every day in our business and the customer support is excellent.

It can be a bit tricky to learn at first but once you have mastered the basics of how it is structured it becomes more logical in terms of navigation.

We've been using Synergist for over 6 years and it is one of our most important internal tools we use which gives us in depth information about our financials, resourcing and project costs. The system is intuitive and easy to use and navigate and has a number of different function areas. The best feature is the reporting tool which allows you to report across any of the areas in custom reports that you can easily put together.

There isn't anything I dislike about Synergist, the support team resolve any issues very quickly and bug fix updates are pushed out frequently so the system is always being kept up to date.

The team at Synergist are so easy to work with, and super helpful. They make the system work for you, and if the feature isn't currently available, 9 times out of 10 they will add it to the next upgrade. 
The ability to track our forecast from live jobs to new opportunities and anything in between is super helpful for our agency.

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

To the people in the team who only use certain aspects, it can be a little overcomplicated to work your way around Synergist at times. However, it is constantly been developed with new features always being added so I am sure this is something that will get worked on!

Synergist is helping us to manage workload across our team, and see who has capacity available to work on new projects. 
We run all of our forecasting from Synergist, using bespoke reports created based on what data we need to see.

The customer support is excellent. Very responsive and keen to help.
In addition The Agency Works who implement the software provide regular training webinars and insights that really help you get the most out of the software.

Persevere with learning how to use the software and you'll be glad you did as it can provide all the reporting you'll ever need.

**What do you dislike about Synergist?**

Synergist takes a bit of getting used to - there's so much going on that it can do, it can seem quite overwhelming when you're new to it. Bear with it though, go on the webinars, speak to support and you'll get there.

**What problems is Synergist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's meant we can move away from spreadsheets - pretty much all the information we need is contained within the software.
Makes it much easier to produce accurate P&L accounts and reporting of individual job profitability.
The revenue recognition feature is a god send - it allows us to track budgets and allocate revenue against work as it's completed. 
It allows us to track under / over servicing so we can really see which jobs are profitable.
Give us the ability to schedule workflows and track the progress of a job from start to finish.

Synergist is great for everything involved in a project, from start to finish it is a great tool to quote for projects, set-up jobs and then monitoring ongoing work, creating tasks and tracking project management. All the way through to review, invoicing and evaluating the status of your project.

It can sometimes feel a bit clunky in regards to scheduling time/resourcing and I don't feel its a strong PM tool right now.

Like any system, it has its challenges. The back end can be a challenge to navigate initially but help is always on hand

I love the dashboard and invoicing features. We have been with Synergist for 15 years; the real benefit is that they listen to clients and evolve the platform to reflect the changing requirements of the industry.

The only downside is sometimes there are too many ways to cut the data. Which means different team members can have different methodologies for accessing the same info.

Synergist has been an absolute game-changer for our project management and operations. The user interface is not the best, the system could do with a refresh, but that does not distract from the positives, and it is not that bad it causes a major issue for us.
