"Unmatched Structured Content. Now Supercharged with AI Assist and Visual Editing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is easily the most structured, flexible, and well-documented content model out there. Workflows are streamlined while keeping updates under control, and the customizable React-based Studio makes it perfect for modern stacks like Vercel. Recently, the introduction of Sanity AI Assist has been a massive upgrade. Unlike bolted-on AI, it is schema-aware and runs directly inside the Studio as a set of field-aware helpers. It can rewrite blocks, summarize text, or translate localized fields while perfectly respecting the content's structure. Additionally, the Presentation tool with click-to-edit visual previews has made the editorial experience significantly smoother for non-technical team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Sanity is incredibly powerful but still has a steep learning curve if you are unfamiliar with GROQ or GraphQL. Pricing can also become a concern for heavy usage, high API volumes, or larger teams. Once it's set up, it's amazing, but the initial configuration requires significant developer effort compared to traditional, out-of-the-box CMS solutions. For instance, wiring up live visual previews to the front-end or building custom workflow states still requires custom coding rather than simple no-code toggles. "Sanity: Flexible, Highly Customizable Headless CMS with Seamless Integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity stands out as a top-tier headless CMS due to its incredible flexibility and robust developer experience. The platform's integrations are seamless, allowing me to easily connect with our existing tech stack and frontend frameworks without friction. What I appreciate most is the deep level of customization; the ability to define our own document schemas and build a bespoke editorial interface means our content creators can work in an environment tailored exactly to our business needs. Furthermore, the performance is consistently excellent. Even with a large and complex content model, the Studio remains snappy, and the real-time collaboration features have significantly improved our team's workflow efficiency by eliminating content collisions and streamlining the publishing process.

Key Strengths of Sanity:

* **Seamless Integrations:** Effortless connectivity with various frontend frameworks and third-party services, ensuring a smooth end-to-end development pipeline.

* **High Customization:** The schema-as-code approach allows for highly specific document structures and a tailored editing experience that aligns perfectly with our organizational requirements.

* **Robust Performance:** Fast, reliable load times and a highly responsive Studio interface that scales well, even as our project requirements and content volume grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

While the Sanity platform is powerful, the onboarding process felt somewhat steep and disconnected. It took me a significant amount of time to get oriented and understand the ecosystem, particularly in terms of navigating the dashboard and locating specific configuration settings.

In fairness, some of this friction may have been exacerbated by a lack of internal documentation at my own company; however, I believe Sanity’s documentation could be more approachable for new users. A more guided "first-steps" walkthrough or a more intuitive discovery process for core features would go a long way in reducing the initial learning curve for developers coming to the platform for the first time.

Areas for Improvement:

* **Interactive Onboarding:** Implement more hands-on tutorials within the UI that guide new users through setting up their first schema or dataset.

* **Contextual Tooltips:** Add more descriptive labels and hover-over explanations for complex terminology within the studio interface to aid quick learning.

* **Documentation Navigation:** Streamline the developer documentation to include more "quick-start" paths that cater specifically to different skill levels or project types.

* **Feature Discovery:** Highlight key features or "shortcuts" during the first few logins to help new users understand the breadth of what they can build without having to dig through documentation manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Content Navigation with Powerful Query Testing and Reliable Performance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

It feels like the most intuitive way to navigate content. The tools available in it let you test queries before you move them into code. Even if you’re not fluent in their GROQ syntax, the AI tooling with MCPs and similar features helps your team quickly find relevant content and makes debugging easier. It also does a good job of filling those gaps: Sanity provides courses and support from their team if you need it. In all my time using it at work, it’s never been down or felt slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The history feature can sometimes feel unintuitive, especially when you’re several levels deep into changes on a document. Also, when searching across a full JSON schema, the search feature doesn’t let you expand an object while the search term is still in the box. That makes JSON inspection feel a bit useless and frustrating, particularly when I’m debugging large content documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Headless CMS You've been looking for"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Unquestionably the best SaaS product in our stack. Continues to get better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

One nitpick - I really don't like the way they've split the way to access studios (e.g. the main dashboard) and the way to manage projects and organizations (/manage). It seems like they've made a deliberate design choice to make the latter harder to access / less intuitive to find. The project / org management tools are still quite necessary, and so the result is unnecessary clicks / confusion. Other than that, nothing of note. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sanity as the modern CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I used sanity at work as a CMS for one of the e-commerce projects and also for my personal projects. I loved how I could structure the data according to the project needs and also it was pretty easy to implement and integrate. Besides that, the real-time collaboration feature stood out, allowing me to monitor live changes to data and contributors. I will always go with sanity first if I need a CMS for my projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

GROQ, the query language used by Sanity, can be complex initially. Also, Sanity does not provide different environments, such as production and staging, which can lead to issues, potentially resulting in unintended alterations to production datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very flexible and developer friendly CMS allowing easy editing experiences"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

The visual editing interface is great. Easy to use for clients, and very flexible for varied data-structures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The focus on Enterprise AI features is not particularly important for my work. I would prefer more focus on improving the basics of the Studio editor. The fundamental features are great, but could be polished. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Most comprehensive and customisable solution in the headless CMS space"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Custom service has been excellent. Our account manager never fails to follow up with us about the latest new features that have launched, and their engineering team has been great about integrating AI workflows into an ever-accelerating tech world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Reduce learning curve for some of the more template-y features like setting up GROQ queries. Their learning resources are good, but it requires a lot from the user's end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Reliable Enterprise Content Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

What I like best about Sanity is how it simplifies day-to-day administration while remaining flexible enough for enterprise use. The user interface is clean and intuitive, making user and role management straightforward even for large environments. The platform performs reliably, and administrative tasks are completed quickly without noticeable delays. I also appreciate the API and integration capabilities, which have helped us automate repetitive processes and reduce manual effort.

The documentation and support resources have been helpful whenever we've needed guidance. From a business perspective, the time saved through automation and simplified administration provides a strong return on investment by reducing operational overhead. I also like that Sanity continues to introduce AI-powered capabilities that help improve productivity and streamline content management workflows. Overall, Sanity has improved our operational efficiency by saving time, reducing administrative overhead, and providing a secure, scalable way to manage users and access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

While my overall experience with Sanity has been positive, there are a few areas that could be improved. Some administrative workflows require multiple steps, and consolidating common tasks would make day-to-day management more efficient.

The UI is generally clean, but certain advanced settings could be easier to discover with better navigation and contextual guidance. API integrations are powerful, but more out-of-the-box connectors and implementation examples would help reduce setup time. Performance is good overall, though some large operations could benefit from faster processing and more detailed progress indicators. On the AI side, expanding intelligent recommendations and automation features would further reduce manual effort for administrators. Finally, more advanced onboarding resources and best-practice guides for enterprise administrators would make it easier for new teams to get up to speed quickly. "Great DX with an awesome API"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Since my last review, what keeps standing out is how little the fundamentals get in the way. GROQ still feels like the right abstraction for content querying: I can shape the exact response a page needs in one request, including references and nested arrays, instead of stitching together several calls or over-fetching. Schemas living in version-controlled code means content model changes go through the same review process as everything else in the repo, and the Studio is just a React app I can extend with custom input components where a field needs bespoke UI — no plugin framework to fight. The image pipeline also quietly saves us a service: on-the-fly transforms and hotspot cropping cover responsive images without a separate asset layer. Support has stayed as good as I described before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Nothing that blocks us day to day. If I had to name one thing, migrating existing content after a schema change still means writing a script — it works, but it's the least polished part of an otherwise very smooth workflow. But I think migrations are always like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI Features and MCP Integration that saves time"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

The AI features and MCP integration are what I like most. They made it simple to bulk-export my redirect rules and convert them into exactly the format I needed, which saved me a lot of manual work. The interface is clean and responsive as well, and it’s straightforward to customise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The biggest downside for me is that some of the menus can feel a bit confusing, and I sometimes catch myself unsure of where a specific setting is located. It does get easier with regular use, but there are still a few areas where the navigation could be clearer and more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
