## Middleware Reviews
  ### 1. Improved visibility into performance after deployments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Middleware?**

I've tried dozens of monitoring tools. Middleware stands out for being clearly built with modern infrastructure in mind. The unified observability across logs, metrics, traces, and infrastructure in a single pane of glass. The Kubernetes integration is seamless, taking just minutes to deploy the agent. I had full cluster visibility, including pod health, node metrics, and namespace-level breakdowns. The APM is intuitive, and the distributed tracing helps us catch latency issues before our users even notice them.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

Not much to complain about, honestly. The onboarding could be a bit more guided for Kubernetes-heavy environments, and the UI for alert management has room to grow. But these are minor friction points in an otherwise solid platform.

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage multi-cluster environments and need real-time observability without juggling five different tools. Middleware consolidates everything we no longer switch between separate log aggregators, APM tools, and infrastructure monitors. This has significantly reduced our MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution) and freed up engineering hours. The cost compared to alternatives like Datadog is also considerably more favourable for our scale.

**Official Response from Sam Suthar:**

> Thank you, and glad to know you liked Middleware.

  ### 6. A True Game-Changer for Our DevOps Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nakshatra P. | Indigo Squad Member at Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Middleware?**

What I like best is the sheer relief of having everything under one roof. Before this, we were constantly jumping between three different tools for logs, APM, and infrastructure monitoring. Having a single source of truth where all that data is automatically correlated is a dream. It's made our entire workflow so much cleaner and more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

Honestly, it's tough to find much to dislike. If I had to be picky, I'd say I'm just eager to see their library of out-of-the-box integrations continue to grow. For our main stack, it was perfect, but for a couple of our more niche, internal tools, we had to do a bit more custom work. That being said, their API is really solid, so it was achievable—just not one-click. It's a minor point for a platform that's already so powerful.

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem for us was the 'tool sprawl.' During an incident, our team would have five different tabs open—one for logs, one for application traces, one for server metrics, and so on. It was a digital wild goose chase trying to manually connect the dots between them all.

Middleware solves this by unifying everything into a single platform. The benefit is massive: we now have one correlated view of our entire stack. When an alert fires, we can see the problematic log, the corresponding application trace, and the CPU spike on the server all on one screen. It’s made our on-call rotations far less stressful and cut down our debugging time significantly.

**Reviewed by:** BIRAJ D. | Customer Success Associate, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Middleware?**

Hands down, the all-in-one observability is what won us over. Instead of juggling five different tools for metrics, logs, and traces, Middleware slams everything into a single glass pane. One minute I’m checking Kubernetes pod health, the next I’m drilling into a spike in error logs – no tab-hopping madness. The AI alerts are creepy-smart too – they pinged us about a memory leak before our containers started crashing. And can we talk about support? When I signed up, the CEO emailed me personally to offer setup help. That’s wild.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

The dashboard editor feels a tad rigid. I couldn’t build a custom widget combining business metrics (e.g., cart abandonment) with infra data (pod restarts). Also, integrations are light outside the cloud-native world – had to hack a webhook for our legacy Oracle DB. Minor gripes, but worth noting if you’re in a Frankensteined environment.

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kubernetes/Docker Love: Deployed the agent in 10 minutes, and suddenly we saw everything – CPU throttling, network bottlenecks, even misbehaving sidecars.

Cost vs. Value: We dumped Datadog (sorry, wallet) and saved 60% without losing critical features.

Debugging Superpowers: Traced a nasty latency issue from a user’s browser → API gateway → faulty microservice in one workflow.

Human Touch: Their devs jumped on a Zoom when we hit a snag with Istio metrics. No bots. No "we’ll reply in 48h."

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Middleware to monitor our infrastructure. Using Middleware has been working out well for us because of two reasons. First, using Middleware, we were able to consolidate tools. Second, it was affordable, so we were able to save a significant amount from our IT budget.

  ### 48. Middleware helps me debug my Apps faster

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek S. | Associate Product Manager - Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Middleware?**

Details of Logs in a timeline help me identify when an incident occurs, and looking into the error generated gives me the exact reason for the incident. They recently introduced AI-powered recommendations that pop up alongside the error, and I found it to be quite handy.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

So far, I have used their entire platform extensively. The functionality and user experience of the tool is good. However, there are some minor complexities in navigating internally through the tool. For instance, if you have to filter your logs for a particular machine, you can do that, but you cannot save those custom filters, which I felt a bit frustrating

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a product manager, I was looking for a cost-effective solution to help us debug our Apps faster. We tried Middleware and liked its simplicity. Thanks to their logs and APM capabilities, we can now debug our Apps more effectively.

  ### 49. Cost-Efficient Datadog Alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reyansh K. | SRE/DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Middleware?**

Their Infrastructure monitoring feature, as well as the APM feature. They have multiple features, but I used these two features extensively over others, so based on that, I can say these two features are the best.

Their pricing is also relatively less than Datadog.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

I was trying to monitor my AWS services, but they have limited options for monitoring the AWS environment. Their support team claimed it’s in the pipeline, but for now, this was something that I slightly disliked about Middleware.

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Middleware is trying to simplify the complex observability ecosystem by bringing in Logs, Traces and Metrics in one place. In today’s cash-crunch economy, where pricing is a major concern, we gave Middleware a try first for test projects and then on the production environment. We were happy with the insights we got about the performance of our Infrastructure.

  ### 50. Affordable Observability Tool

Middleware is a full-stack observability tool that has a shallow learning curve. The tool’s UI is clean and easy to use. You can monitor your infrastructure, applications, and it supports multiple environments. Their pricing is also very less compared to others.

**What do you dislike about Middleware?**

My experience with Middleware has been great so far. However, I recently noticed that they only support 1-2 major AWS products at this moment which can be a big point for people who rely on AWS.

**What problems is Middleware solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Infrastructure monitoring. It helps us monitor our infrastructure and notify us in case of any uncertainties making the team and me much more productive, which helped to achieve ease of mind when it comes to infrastructure.
