"Clean Interface, Fast Performance, yet Lacks Print Preview"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

I love Mailbird's clean interface, which makes navigating through my emails smooth and straightforward, especially when compared to the clutter of Outlook. The fast loading speed of Mailbird is another feature I deeply appreciate as it enhances my efficiency, allowing me to access messages quickly without any frustrating delays. The simplicity and minimal design help me easily view and manage my emails, contributing significantly to my daily productivity. Furthermore, I found the initial setup of Mailbird to be very easy, which made the transition from Outlook seamless and hassle-free. This ease of use and swift performance are the reasons why I am likely to recommend Mailbird to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

I'm frustrated that when I want to print something using Mailbird, I can't have a preview of what pages are going to be printed, unlike Outlook. This lack of a print preview feature makes it difficult for me to know how many pages I would have to print. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fastest and cleanest IMAP mail client I've tried"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

1) The clean, simple and modern interface

2) The ability to customise the theme colour, default fonts, etc

3) When I reply to emails, the quick reply feature hides my signature

4) Instant results when using the search function

5) Pop-up notification on my desktop when I receive new emails

6) During my first use, the software was able to import all of my previous emails within just a few minutes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

The third-party apps integration can be slow and buggy at times, that I sometimes have to turn off this feature entirely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sneaky and Greedy using dark patterns"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

Decent functionality with the ability to add multiple mail boxes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

I've been a lifelong user of Mailbird and honestly have loved the experience. But their greed and tone deaf nature is getting on my nerves!

I purchased Mailbird 2.0 lifetime version which they clearly said would qualify me for any future update, without any additional riders mentioned such as it would only

But now I realise to use the full version of Mailbird 3.0 I need to pay again! They are sneakily using the argument that the lifetime updates were only valid for Mailbird 2.x. I mean how crafty do you need to get!

To the founders reading this review - this is not how you become a successful tech company! You become that winning the trust and sympathy of your loyal users! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mailbird is better than other similar apps on Windows"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

Mailbird connects very conveniently with Google domain. No need to set up manually for emails.

Synchronizes the calendar and gives access to Whatsapp and other apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

The Mail format needs a little more improvement like, after reading an incoming mail, to go for the next unopened one with arrows forward and backward needs to integrated.

The attachment slot if it appears on top below the subject, it would be convenient to open instead of scrolling down and then find an attachment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Looks nice but major flaws"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

It's very easy to set up and use. Sets up in minutes, seamlessly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

There are numerous serious flaws. Printing from Mailbird is a nightmare. You never know what you are going to get. No preview window. Ambiguous "Print Conversation or Discussion" seems to do exactly the opposite and wastes paper. You can set it as default email but it won't print from other programs like QuickBooks. You first have to save your report as a pdf then attach the pdf to a new email. Templates are tedious to set up. The drafts folder fills up constantly with blank emails. I moved to Thunderbird which deals with all these issues much better but takes ages to set up features from add-ons. That will be another review. Mailbird isn't ready for prime time and they definitely should not be charging for it, I got tons of spam while using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Spellcheck has been broken for two weeks"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

It has a very good UX/UI and is fairly intutive. Migrating from Postbox was comparatively easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

Migration didn't recognize custom signatures and mapping alias addresses is far more complicated than it should be but the most frustrating aspect is the spellchecker broke a week after paying for the highest level plan level. Their customer service on the issue has been abysmal with as many as NINE DAYS between responses and at the time this is being written, they only just acknowledged the issue is system wide and they have no ETA on a fix. "A fine all in one mailclient which make you life easier"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

The most important reason I chose for Mailbird is that this emailclient can easily be linked to a lot of apps which make life easier. The former emailclient made it hard to link with certain apps on my mobile. Mailbird solved that in a few simple steps, so I can manage all my tasks from all my devices.

Besides that I also like that I can open most favourite apps from within Mailbird, like whatsapp, twitter, telegram, teams, etc.

There customer support is really helpfull and very fast. They think with you and try to find a solution and otherwise come up with work around.

In short, a good mail client and much more which is my default mailclient which I use every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

They have to find a solution for keeping separate incoming mail and outgoing mail which is an answer on an incoming mail. Now when I answer an incoming mail, the complete mail thread is moved to the send folder including the original incoming mail.

But they are working on right on this moment so I hope it will be solved soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great looking interface - shady sales and business practices"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

Interface is lovely, simple and slick (when it works properly) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

They pulled the rug on "lifetime" licences, they prioritise shiny but unwanted features over fixing bugs. Pricing forces most people onto the most expensive package with features many will never use or want.

I used mailchimp 2 on a lifetime license for several years and really enjoyed how simple it was for manging multiple email accounts. They then started putting more resources into the (in my opinion) pointelss apps such as AI and social intergrations etc and in doing this let the core email functionality slip. There is a long serving but that makes emails not load properly in the inbox that has made the software useless for me.

The final insult came whey they released 3.0, rug pulled the lifetime licenses. I even forgave them for this and purchased 3.0 in the hope they had also fixed the bug and I could start using the lovely interface again but despite ripping off those who paid for 2.0 and cranking the prices up for 3.0 they still hadn't even fixed this bug again prioritising new features over fixes.

On top of that their sales practices seem shady, they have had a "24 hour" sale on 3.0 licenses live for at least 3 months trying to trick people into purchasing before the timer runs out (they just reset the timer every evening).

Don't believe their inevitable reply to this review that 2.x is still supported, this has been lip service only since 3 was released.

Such as shame as the interface is 2nd to none but I refuse to deal with a company that screws its early users like this and has such shady tactics to increase sales. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not a Mailbird Lifetime Deal - Be Aware!"
What do you like best about Mailbird?

As a user of Mailbird 2, I was genuinely excited when I purchased the lifetime deal. The promise of a one-time payment for continuous access to their excellent app was a deal I couldn't pass up. Mailbird 2 has been my reliable companion, streamlining my email management with its intuitive interface and robust features.

However, my enthusiasm has been dampened by the latest development. The introduction of Mailbird 3, undeniably a more advanced and promising version, has come with an unexpected twist. The lifetime deal that I had happily invested in for Mailbird 2 no longer applies to this new upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailbird?

Having to pay again for Mailbird 3 feels like a betrayal of the trust I put in the "lifetime" deal for Mailbird 2. The term "lifetime" implies a long-term commitment, which I assumed would include subsequent versions of the software. However, it appears this is not the case.

While I understand that the development and maintenance of new software require resources and hence, costs, it's disappointing to face another payment request after purchasing what was marketed as a lifetime deal.

In conclusion, although I appreciate the improvements in Mailbird 3, the unanticipated additional cost has left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the brand. I hope Mailbird addresses this issue and considers its loyal customers who invested in the previous lifetime deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Oliver Jackson of Mailbird

Hi Elias,

We're naturally sorry to hear of your disappointment - the Personal Pay Once license which you originally purchased will continue to work without issue on Mailbird 2.x.
