GeoHECRAS is an advanced hydraulic modeling software that simplifies HEC-RAS modeling as it accelerates river and floodplain analysis by reducing repetitive GIS and CAD processing. Tasks like merging DEMs, generating elevation profiles, or building HEC-RAS floodplain surfaces are completed in half the time. The software integrates LiDAR surveying data, NLCD Land Cover data, and FEMA Flood maps directly into AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ArcGIS workflows. GeoHECRAS is used for river modeling, 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling, dam breach analysis, and HEC-RAS bridge modeling, along with complex floodplain encroachment studies—all with built-in reporting and reduced external GIS dependency.

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

Using GeoHECRAS is straightforward thanks to its user-friendly interface. I can create a working model within a few hours, significantly increasing productivity. GeoHECRAS makes it easy to create reaches, cross sections, and assign Mannings coefficients, bank station, etc. Also the ability to modify one scenario and copy those modifications to another scenario makes it easy to implement changes. What do you dislike about GeoHECRAS?

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

GeoHECRAS is always updating their software to make it better. New features are added regularly. Most important is the customer support. What do you dislike about GeoHECRAS?

I wish that the software could utilize the GPU in the computer for all tasks. This would make the software perform smoother and faster. With that said, I just extended my license for another 3 years. "Powerful Flood Analysis Tools and Responsive Support"

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

GeoHECRAS is user-friendly and comes with solid resources. I’ve reached out to their customer support multiple times, and they’ve been very responsive and helpful. They also scheduled an hour-long session to walk me through how to get started the first time I used it. Some highlight features include “Download DEM Data” as the downloaded surfaces maintain good quality, "Scenario Manager" which allows for easy comparison of different scenarios in the same project, and automated features such as assigning reaches and cross-sections are fast and accurate. Lastly, it's very convenient to import/export data between Civil3D and GeoHECRAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECRAS?

The main downside with GeoHECRAS is that it can get glitchy toward the end of a project, especially once it’s holding a lot of data. I also find it hard to adjust linework, such as cross-sections, after the analysis has been run, because they end up with multiple points that don’t move together smoothly. Overall, the software is automated and quick to set up, but if revisions are needed, they can be time-consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GeoHECRAS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I mainly use GeoHECRAS for flood analysis on creeks to determine the water-surface elevation. The software is especially helpful during design phases, because I can easily import a couple of surfaces and compare the resulting impacts. So far, I’ve completed one large flood analysis along with a few smaller water-elevation checks. I also appreciate that it provides multiple options for exporting results and reports, depending on what information I need to share. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

GeoHECRAS has a great interface that is very user friendly, it makes workflow within projects easier and more efficient when compared to HECRAS. The additional GIS integrated features are great for making quick changes to the terrain without having to complete through external processes. What do you dislike about GeoHECRAS?

GeoHECRAS experiences small bugs within the software that at times make the workflow unpredictable. Problems within the software occur that are irrelevant of project inputs. However, their support team is always very attenuative to address these items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GeoHECRAS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use GeoHECRAS for open channel analysis. Specific tasks include evaluating capacity of existing roadway crossings, determining WSE for flood construction levels, and understanding the mechanisms of flooding to be used in developing mitigation measures. What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

Learning 2D HECRAS modeling, and training and tutorial from GeoHECRAS is great help. The ease of using GeoHECRAS is the key for me to learn 2D modeling fast. I have been doing 1D modeling for few years now, and the ease of creating models and the interface is the best part of GeoHECRAS. As always, their customer service is unbeatable. "Reliable Solution for Complex Water Analysis"

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

I find GeoHECRAS to be a reliable and effective program. I've been using it for wetland assessments to compare flood depths under different conditions, which helps in communicating clear recommendations to project managers. The interface is easy to use, which I like. I also appreciate how the program has the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for my location, allowing me to combine separate elevation layers into one. "GeoHECRAS is Great for Modeling 1D or 2D"

What do you like best about GeoHECRAS?

I enjoy GeoHECRAS features over RASMapper because it is more intuitive and has more capabilities. It is easier and faster to build 1D and 2D models in Geo. The interface is also more user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECRAS?

While it is possible to export and import HECRAS models into Geo, they often change enough that troubleshooting is required. I would expect a little more continuity between the programs. I would also like if Geo ran the most up to date versioning of HECRAS. The most recent update also has a few glitches in the 2D that I've noticed, such as boundary condition lines disappearing between saves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Uploading surface files from Civil3d has helped a lot to streamline the inclusion of data into the software compared to previous methods of manually inputting the data for cross sections in older software's.
