Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System or HEC-RAS is a software that allows the user to perform one-dimensional steady flow, one and two-dimensional unsteady flow calculations, sediment transport/mobile bed computations, and water temperature/water quality modeling.

Some areas of application of HEC-RAS include:
Floodplain management
Flood insurance studies to evaluate floodway encroachments
Designing and analyzing bridges and culverts
Levee modeling and breach analysis
Dam breach analysis
