"Current user's honest review"

What do you like best about BuildOps?

Only good thing I discovered is that you can move a job to another property. That's the only positive thing I can say at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

As a person that like to work smarter not harder, I dislike much everything about Build Ops. It is supported by AI which I do not support. It lags everyday, the techs always have issues, it requires to enter the same information multiple times, the reports and invoices look horrible, it is difficult to navigate thru since you have to click around and open new tabs for everything. Receiving POs is the most irritating process I'd ever encountered. Not sure why we are required to edit "taxable" settings on almost everything when a customer is already set up as tax exempt. Visits/Jobs still come up as "Not invoiced" even though it was invoiced as a "Recurring invoice", etc... The list will go on and on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaylajanaé Sáenz of BuildOps

Elizabeth, thank you for the candid feedback. It’s clear that day-to-day speed and the invoicing and receiving workflows are creating extra work for you and your team, and we’re sorry. That’s the opposite of what this should do for a billing team. We’ve shared your feedback with our product team. We’d welcome the chance to talk it through at feedback@buildops.com.

"False Claims- Would NEVER recommend--- EVER"

What do you like best about BuildOps?

The fact that they over promised a lot of things. Extensive reports, etc. They can collect large amounts of information, you just can't use it once you have it. The thought and what the sales person said was good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

If you want to run a successful company don't use buildops. The system does not work. They admitted that they have been having problems for years. The app doesnt work, the desktop doesn't work and the syncing issues with Quickbooks, Payabli (their specific payment processor, never worked... and caused massive errors and redunancy). Bills were sent out to clients that were paid, and once 10 of each invoice that wasn't paid was sent out overnight... Some people got 30 more more invoices in a night. They promised to fix, but we have been with them for a year, and nothing was done. They did not know how to communicate. When I was unable to get into their payment processor, they said they were working on it... and would send me an email. I've been working over a month to just get logged in and reconcile data, becuase their system doesn't send an email properly. The features are very CLUNKY. It was not all set up properly from the startt so our 6 months of onboarding was hours and hours of wasted time and meetings. The logistics did not calculate properly, and we lost functionality of knowing our true cost/ metrics. The technicians had problems with the app not downloading pictures or letting them move/ progress through the visit. They would have to clear the Cache 6-7 times per day.

We tried getting into meetings, sharing feedback. We had 5 different support specialists quit during our time with BuildOps. They can't keep employees (possibly due to all the tech errors). The impact to our business and employee moral has been EXTENSIVE. We regret signing up. The list goes on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaylajanaé Sáenz of BuildOps

Nancy, we appreciate you laying this out. We’re sorry about the billing sync and support follow-through problems, and for the toll they’ve taken on your business and your team. We’ve passed your feedback to our product and support teams. If you’re open to it, we’d welcome the chance to talk this through directly. You can reach us anytime at feedback@buildops.com.

"Complex Yet Powerful for Commercial Use"
3.5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

I appreciate BuildOps for its expansive database and asset management capabilities. Also, at the time we switched, it offered a better platform for our commercial and industrial needs, which was a major factor in our decision to choose BuildOps over Service Titan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

I've found a few areas where BuildOps could improve. Customer service needs enhancement as getting timely and knowledgeable responses to questions and concerns is lacking. The inventory tracking system also doesn't align well with our needs, which makes it less effective for us. Additionally, the initial setup was challenging due to a lack of adequate training, particularly because it was virtual. Having someone onsite to understand our company specifics would have greatly helped, especially since BuildOps offers multiple ways to do things, which can be confusing without proper training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaylajanaé Sáenz of BuildOps

Taylor, thank you for the review. Hearing that BuildOps was the better fit for your commercial and industrial work, and that the asset management and database depth are working for your mechanical and plumbing company, is what we hope to hear. Support responsiveness and hands-on training are areas we can do better on. We’d welcome the chance to talk it through at feedback@buildops.com.

"Streamlined Operations with Efficient Tracking, Needs Faster Invoicing"
3.5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

I really like that the crew can mark their completion directly on their phones, which seems to make the process quite efficient. I also appreciate that drive time and on-site time are tracked separately, as this provides better clarity on the schedule. The invoicing system pulls directly from completed work orders, which helps in avoiding double billing or missing any billing, ensuring our accounting stays clean and customer disputes are reduced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

The only issue I have is that invoices are generated after the work is done, but our customers expect them faster. It would be great if that process could be sped up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaylajanaé Sáenz of BuildOps

Chandeli, thank you for the review. It’s great to hear crews marking jobs complete from their phones, drive time and on-site time tracked separately, and invoices pulling straight from completed work orders to keep accounting clean and disputes down. That’s the kind of day-to-day win we want for every team. Faster invoicing is a fair ask and a real gap today. We’d welcome the chance to hear what faster looks like for your team at feedback@buildops.com.

"Build Ops Speeds Up Work Orders, Billing, and Workflow with Smooth Integrations"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

Ease of use, making the workflow so much faster on a day to day basis. For example, copying and pasting texts, using filters to refine searches, and a search bar that auto populates as you attempt to find a Work Order or Purchase order. Easy to integrate programs such as Quickbooks for accounting which makes billing more efficient. That fast performance of Build Ops cloud service really shows how you can get your price value back as every dollar spent towards a project can be carefully logged and billed out within the project finishing. In case I ever run into any errors or bugs, the customer service is top notch in terms of tackling problems with the hour. The integration of Artificial Intelligence has made the workflow even faster as it corrects spelling errors in notes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

I would like to see more ease of use moving/editing receipts with a Purchase Order attached. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kaylajanaé Sáenz of BuildOps

Hi Zachariah, thank you for the thoughtful 5-star review! We’re delighted to hear that BuildOps is helping streamline your work and workflows while saving you time. We also appreciate your suggestion about making it easier to move or edit receipts attached to purchase orders. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving the experience. Thanks again for choosing BuildOps!

"Streamlined Procurement and Reliable Anywhere Access with Build Ops"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

Every part of the procurement process feels streamlined, and it’s easy to switch between different Work Orders as needed. Support is expedient and helps within the hour until a claim is finalized. I can rely on Build Ops to work from home and the office, and having availability from the internet helps me do my job from any location, making it convenient for the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

Whenever I ask for support, the initial response is from an A.I. bot that doesn't assist in actually fixing the problem but rather stating why there is a problem. I'd prefer to have my concerns addressed by an actual person first and foremost, and if the person assisting me has to use A.I. tools that is not my concern. As a customer, I feel my time is respected and valued when my initial concerns with a software issue are addressed by a person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product/platform, great partner for our business, great results for us!"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

My favorite parts of BuildOps are the reporting capabilities and the continual product improvement/updates the platform provides us. We previously were unable get this level of insight into our construction projects and service jobs, nor were we able to properly manage the workflows of our people/processes within our old system. BuildOps is providing us with valuable, real-time insights and an actual useful platform to help us complete our work, and not something we need to work around. Additionally, their customer service (especially our CSM Tom Foley!) are excellent to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

While I do love all the updates that BuildOps is working on, I believe they show the signs of a rapidly growing company where a feature will be worked on, released, and then not iterated on for a while, and instead possibly be replaced. Additionally, I believe that their investment/purchase of CRM+ was not well researched on their end, as it has MINIMAL functionality between the two systems. I know that they are working on a new platform/full integration between the two, but the CRM+ team has not been very forthright in sharing those details with us. "Streamlines HVAC Operations with Ease"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

I appreciate how BuildOps integrates with MITRE, allowing me to pull the time directly for payroll each week. It helps track the time that our guys spend on each job, which is great for payroll processing. Additionally, it's quite convenient since our guys can enter their clock-in time and do all their paperwork straight from their company phones for each service call. The projects module is also helpful in organizing everything in one place, and we can easily refer back to job records even years later. The implementation team was very supportive, making the initial setup not too difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

I think sometimes we could improve the fact that they only allow fleet tracking through one program. It would be nice to have open integration so that we could use our analytics. They need to be a little bit more accepting of multiple integration options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly and Efficient for Permit Coordination"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

I really appreciate that BuildOps is extremely user-friendly and clearly laid out, which makes important information obvious on the customer or specific job screens. The features that include all aspects of the job, including permitting, are very helpful for my role as a permit coordinator. The tags in BuildOps quickly help identify if a permit is required or has been issued, and I can enter permit fees into inventory costs ensuring job costing is accurately calculated. Additionally, BuildOps works well for contract jobs, and I find that the project management area has evolved and continues to improve. I also like the Dashboard feature for technicians and how I can customize Dispatch boards to focus on different crews without having to display everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

I think project management could improve the pay application process, so it is more in line with the industry standard AIA form. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Ops with Rapid Support"
5/5
What do you like best about BuildOps?

I use BuildOps for tracking the hours of technicians and creating new work orders. I love the chat feature in BuildOps because if I have any questions, AI or a real member can resolve the issue. It's easy to sign in on any device, and it saves travel times by letting me know which technicians are close to the job. BuildOps has everything, including billing and creating new customers. The initial setup was easy and fast to learn, and I got it quickly. I'm still discovering a lot of new features since BuildOps is always coming up with new features to make the job easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BuildOps?

Communication from the mobile app to the computer dispatch board doesn't show where the techs are at that time. There's a delay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
