[Find new features](https://www.g2.com/glossary) ## Desktop Publishing Software Discussions 0 Question on: Adobe InDesign [Will you allow users to edit images later on within InDesign](/discussions/12082-will-you-allow-users-to-edit-images-later-on-within-indesign) Currently users are not able to edit images in the software. I'm not sure which version you are using, but I am several versions back. The version I am using is CS5.5 which does not allow you to edit an image much beyond cropping, repositioning, and replacing the image. To actually edit an image you would definitely want to use Photoshop (for photos) or Adobe Illustrator (for graphics), then replace the image within the InDesign document. I hope that helps. However there is a very good reason for it. InDesign is made specifically for layout. What you see on screen are just generated previews. In larger documents the file can habe hundred or sometimes thousands if links inside. The files would be so large you couldn't work on them. By keeping all of the photo editing to outside software it allows for a lot more freedom and speed in laying out your pages. Is this the most cost effective tool for generating revenue as a beginner or small creator?](/discussions/many-digital-creators-use-canva-pro-to-make-products-for-platforms-like-etsy-is-this-the-most-cost-effective-tool-for-generating-revenue-as-a-beginner-or-small-creator) I’ve noticed many digital creators using Canva Pro to create templates, printables, and other digital products for platforms like Etsy. I’m curious to know if Canva Pro is really the most cost-effective tool for beginners or small creators who want to generate revenue, or if free tools and basic design knowledge can achieve similar results. The main rule is that any template you export for sale should link the user back to Canva. So you are essentially selling a link to Canva with the template that was created, and all templates are to be made from scratch. You can use a Canva template as a guide, but it needs to be altered so it is identified as your own, not the original creator's. Linking templates back also ensures that any fonts or elements that were used will give those creators credit and royalties for usage. I hope that makes sense. Especially for those who aren't familiar with all that professionally! When design, branding, marketing tools, and image are all cohesive, it immediately improves the business. Pro also allows you the chance to have a team, which really helps standardize and familiarize the brand. Canva offers all that to its users but when you pay for Pro, you are saving yourself so much legal, design, software, and $$$ headaches. I will go back and experiment since I have more insight now. Canva has helped us in creating personalized greetings for our employees’ birthdays, work anniversaries, and special office functions. Instead of spending on expensive applications, Canva provides us with a budget-friendly and easy to use solution. It allows us to design creative and professional greetings quickly, which helps in maintaining good employee engagement and strengthening our office culture.
