# Is a single desktop publishing platform with built-in collaboration and brand asset integration actually worth it, or do most teams end up piecing together separate tools anyway?

Every tool in this space claims to do it all, but the reviews paint a more mixed picture about how well the collaboration and brand asset pieces actually work together once teams get past initial setup.

Five platforms where both elements come through most clearly in the review data:

Adobe Express: Centralized brand kits and shared templates let distributed teams produce consistent assets without importing anything, and the connection to the broader Adobe ecosystem reduces handoff friction for teams that already work in Photoshop or Illustrator. Does that ecosystem advantage still hold if only part of the team is on Creative Cloud?

Canva: Real-time collaboration and Brand Kit genuinely reduce the back-and-forth on asset updates, with social media direct posting that some teams use as a lightweight content management layer on top. Does it actually replace a separate DAM once the asset library grows past a certain size?

Visme: Brand asset storage integrates directly into the design workflow, and Google Sheets connectivity is practical for teams pulling live data into reports and proposals without switching platforms mid-project.

Shorthand: Teams producing recurring digital content like annual reports and brand stories describe it as replacing a fragmented multi-tool process, with collaboration built into a workflow that previously required passing files between editorial, design, and web teams.

Have you genuinely replaced separate tools with one of these, or has the all-in-one promise broken down past a certain team size or content volume? And if you're using two tools together, which combination has actually worked?

I believe most teams still stitch tools together once volume grows. All-in-one works early, then edge cases push people out. The question is really how long the “single tool” phase lasts. Did you see teams sticking with one platform past a certain team size?
